Donald Trump released an amusing ad in time with the eclipse. It's funny, it's self-effacing by being ironically grandiose.

Of course the left has employed its favorite mode of expression -- Feigned Autism --to claim they don't understand the "bizarre" ad. They claim they don't understand that the ad is intended to be silly.

From TIME's report:

In a new and bizarre campaign ad, Donald Trump's head takes the place of the moon and blocks out the sun in a nod to Monday's solar eclipse.
After getting the talking points/marching orders, The Independent joined the pile-on and also used "bizarre" to describe the ad:

On Sunday night, Mr Trump posted a bizarre campaign ad on Truth Social where his own head takes on the role of the moon -- blocking out the sun and plunging America into total darkness.

Some social media users were somewhat baffled by the message in the campaign ad: that Mr Trump will block out the sun and plunge the entire Earth into darkness.

I'm so, so sick of the Tactical Autism. If you really don't understand basic things, what the f*** are you doing working for a media which claims to be able to understand complicated thinks and to be able to explain these things to an audience?

Now passing from Feigned Autism to Genuine Mental Stuntedness, Sunny Hostin claims that the recent 4.8 earthquake that gently roused New York and the eclipse were caused by, you guessed it, climate change.

Hostin's unhinged conspiracy theories may have been the wildest, but they were not the first during the episode. Faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin rhetorically scoffed at the idea that the Friday earthquake in New Jersey was a sign that Jesus was returning, but suggested former President Trump's gold club had something to do with it:

So, what's kind of crazy is with the earthquake on Friday and then the eclipse today, people are having all sorts of conspiracies about the end of the world. And then I read online that the earthquake epicenter was actually at Bedminster in New Jersey. Fun fact. So it originated with Trump.
Hostin, a self-proclaimed devout Catholic, laughed about how their studio makeup artist "put on her coat" and "ran down the hallway" during the earthquake saying "Jesus is coming" and "the rapture is here."
She also bloviated about how it was the first time in 100 years that two different cicada broods were emerging for their mating seasons at the same time.

Apparently, all the pieces were on the table and only Hostin was smart enough to put them together, and "climate change" was the answer. "All those things together would maybe lead one to believe that either climate change exists, or something is really going on," she proclaimed.
You knew things were bad when Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg were the voices of reason.
"Except earthquakes are not at the mercy of climate change. It's underground. It can't," Behar pushed back. But Hostin wouldn't listen to reason. "How about the warming of the planet?" she huffed in what she seemingly thought was a checkmate, without evidence of how it would cause earthquakes miles below the earth's surface.
"No, it happens. And the eclipse, they've known about the eclipse coming because eclipses happen and they actually can say when these things are going to happen," Goldberg argued.

Global warming made the moon blot out the sun, and made the sky to appear as sack-cloth.

But boy! Those religious maniacs who thought that an earthquake was a sign of the first trumpet! What idiots!

Chris Cuomo has charged the Biden Administration with not caring about the US hostages still held by Biden's allies in Hamas.

NewsNation primetime host Chris Cuomo dropped some major truth bombs on his eponymous show Thursday night; directly addressing the folks in the White House he's been told "monitor" what he says and calling out how the American and Israeli hostages stolen by Hamas terrorists "have become an afterthought" to President Biden, who dropped them below reelection as a priority. He called it all "unforgivable."
At the top of his show, Cuomo noted "that people in the White House monitor what I say" and warned that since officials "won't come on the show," he was "forced to speak at you rather than to you. This is not my choice."
Cuomo chided the Biden administration for their "half-speak" and "treating the war against Israel as if it were another political point of compromise." He said the White House was using "appeasement in a situation that is not about balance" but "about realities."
"And I get how worried you are that you're not going have the same base year the last time. But that is not an excuse to be weak," he directly shouted at Biden, who he declared had "forgotten" the hostages by not making their release the first condition of a ceasefire:

There's a primary reality, okay? And we seemed to have forgotten it. Hamas is a terror organization. You designated them as that! They stole people. They need to give the people they stole back to us, to Israel, first! The hostages have become an afterthought! And that is wrong! And the reason it has happened is even more wrong! The reason it has happened is because other political exigencies and agendas have overtaken the relevance!

I don't know what that last sentence means. Just a meathead trying to sound smart. The stuff before it was good.

3 We actually had the apocalypse today here in my little corner of NE Texas. The clouds cleared up and we got to see the entirety of the totality. It got way darker than I expected and it was very cool. I have never seen anything like that in my life. Looking straight at the sun without those fancy glasses and not going blind.

11 I have returned home from Fredericksburg. Traffic was heavy on I-10 returning from the eclipse.

I did see it in Fredericksburg - when the clouds allowed it. Totality was interwoven with a heavy cloud deck. But it was seen in all its glory, and it did get pitch black at 1:30 pm.

A lot of trouble, a long day - but worth it.

170 Yes FaceBook does that "Missing Context -- watch our propaganda before you can see the link". I generally click through quickly, otherwise they think their diversionary tactics are working.

Because FB/Google/Instagram and the others are such behemoths, it seems good to keep posting on those forums. Maybe also post on X and Bitchute and watch Rumble ... but running away from the "Majors" may not be the solution.

I'm still not on Truth Social ... guess I should sign up.

I actually got to conduct it once in HS. It was the first FB game of the season and my first half-time as the drum major of the band.

Not as mind blowing as the recording with a full professional orchestra but I was on a serious high. His was back when HS bands were a lot more popular and big. We had about 70 musicians and 30 chicks in the flag corps.

When you consider that the moon is 400 times smaller than the sun yet 400 times closer to Earth, its an extreme example of how privileged this planet is. The moon is also receding so going back enough years the moon would not have been perfectly placed to allow us on the surface to witness Perfect Eclipses - eclipses where we can see the chromasphere, see Einstein's theory of gravity bending light, and other things that could not be known absent a Perfect Eclipse.

For those of faith, this is God deliberately setting up conditions to learn about His Creation. He meant for man to see this and set up the perfect conditions - including time - for us to see it.

Yet as Job observed, we are only seeing the outermost parts of His garment.

I had a colleague who was psychotic. Not in my estimation, but in the estimation of trained psychiatrists. He spent about a month per year in the nut barn, and was known for slashing tires in the parking lot and setting his house on fire. So ... batshit crazy.

Anyway, it turns out that psychotics have no sense of humor, but a sense of humor requires recognizing incongruity - the basis of humor. Many was the time that someone would make a joke at a departmental meeting, and everyone would laugh except this guy, who took the joke literally. Everyone else would cough and shuffle their feet in embarrassment before changing the subject.

I can perhaps see that a baby from a shithole country(places where the people literally shit in holes, or just on the dirt where ever they happen to feel the urge) might not grasp OUR cultural norms about the privacy of bathroom matters...many Arabs still squat with their feet on the on the SEAT of toilets rather than sit on them, but....any kid sent to a school should have some modicum of grade appropriate socialization prior.
It may well be that the 1st grader "newcomer" that could not speak english was trying in some form/fashion to make friends..
