The Morning Report: "Stepping Away" 4/4/2024

From J.J. Sefton

In light of a medical situation back in February that I had hinted at, you may have wondered about yesterday's Morning Report and connected the dots. Unfortunately, your instincts are correct. After suffering some sort of seizure back in February, while the initial MRI and spinal tap showed nothing, a subsequent MRI this past Friday evidently seems to indicate that I might have some sort of brain tumor/growth that would require immediate attention. As in surgery.

That said, on a positive note -- and I'm holding onto this bit of news as positive with all my might -- the medical neurology team and the surgical neurology team are apparently still reading the tea leaves to see what kind of surgery, if any, is required to deal with this. I am hoping against hope for that non-surgical option but am preparing myself as best as I can for whatever is to be.

I'll know more in the coming days, but obviously this means that I will have to step away from the blog and the podcasts for some extended period of time.

Many of you have asked how I am able to wade through the outrages and nightmare scenarios we find ourselves in day after day and still cope. Hell, maybe that's what caused what's happening in the first place, despite my viewing it as a way to let off steam and the satisfaction I get from writing these columns.

No matter what, I hope to be able to once again be on these pages, at CJN and Taki's Magazine. I thank all of you for your support, prayers and comradeship since I first stumbled across this place nearly 20 years ago.

18 Willowed: It's difficult for people who have never driven through Kansas to understand the magnitude of I-70. It doesn't look like much on the map, but in terms of the scientist scale, it's at least 9, 10 million scientists long. The same interstate in Texas would have 125 mph speed limit. They don't put up with that kind of shit in Texas. They killed all their scientists a long time ago. It's for the best, really.

I've driven it westbound, twice. It is long and underpopulated. The two major things I noticed: Not every exit has a gas station right off the main road, so you need to be sure you fill up when you can; and though it seems utterly flat, I-70 and the land it's on rises ever so slightly toward the west. The elevation is 1000 feet at Kansas City; at the CO line it's 4000. So you;re driivng on a tabletop, but one that is tilted. Combine that with a west wind and your gas tank will empty rapidly.

You might find my personal story encouraging…. Almost 30 years ago, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Doc thought it was cancer looking at the MRI but you can’t know for sure until it’s tested. So I took the surgical option and the doc removed it fully and it was NOT cancer. Fast forward to today and I’ve no ill effects, just a scar on my head. I pray you have a similar result

I know of two people that had a similar condition and they were both able to work their way 100% back to the point where it's just annual checkups now.

I think the causes for these things are more complicated and ethereal than we can possibly imagine. It's certainly nothing you've done, my friend.

159 Wife had a MRI and they found an aneurism 7 years ago. The medical team felt it was small enough to monitor rather than going through risk of surgery. However, some patients couldn't bear thought of it being in their brain and opted for surgery, Dr. indicated.

Wife chose Dr.'s advice and goes once a year for MRI.

A couple of days ago, one of the Horde sent me an E-Mail about a new report out of Denver regarding this illegal alien influx. Denver has taken on more illegals per-capita than any other city, and it's crushing them. They now greet buses from the border - the one in the report was from Abbot - and tell the aliens, "look, you've got 2-6 weeks and then you're out of shelters and the like. If you want, we'll buy you a bus ticket to more favorable climes like NYC, Chicago or the Canadian border."

259 JJ, I'm trying to find the right words to share. For so many of us, The Morning Report has become part of our daily workweek routine, between coffee and bites of toast. It's like having a great friend spend a few minutes of their valuable time to discuss what's on their mind, before we take off for the office, the factory, the garage or that contract job we have waiting.
And our days are all the more richer for it.
Take care and know that when we look across our tables tomorrow, we will pause and say a prayer for our AM friend, who we know is only temporarily absent.

A couple weeks ago we celebrated the first anniversary of my son's surgery to remove a large tumor from his brain stem. I'm talking a real party -- there is much to celebrate. He's doing much better than we could have possibly hoped at the time.

348 Praying for your recovery, jj. Do please look at Joe Tippen's story on his blog, "my cancer story rocks." He had stage 4 lung cancer ... that was about 5 or 6 years ago and he is still alive and disease-free because he took fenbendazole ... it is a crazy story but if you read his blog post you'll see how a veterinarian actually clued him in to this.

Jewels that goes for you, too, do check it out and anyone else who's facing the big C.
