Posted by: vmom ===== Probiotics for dogs as a regular treatment can help with that. Our dogs like to eat rabbit poo and one likes to eat fresh creeping charlie to their detriment. Lot less problems with their fecal emissions (as well as a previous doggie) since we add Fortiflora daily to their meal as a powder. Believe that you can also get it in pill form from a variety of sources. Two of the doggies with intestinal problems were rescued strays that ate whatever to stay alive. The other dog which was fostered and never lived outside in his life like the Creeping Charlie plant in spring to the violent disagreement with his digestive system. Just to check in on the outer edges of the insane left, I'll read a Guardian article on Trump.
Anyone who reads those credulously wants to be lied to. Today's sample: We were right to refuse to air Trump speeches to stop the spread of his lies. But you must listen to his latest to see how incoherent and crazy he is getting. Here's us telling what he said. Isn't that crazy and dangerous? No, we're not linking to audio or video of his speeches-- we're linking to other left wing sites that also don't link to the raw source. People without belief in something other than this world, obsess about it, and desperately seek affirmation because they are so far from God. My father hangs on Rachel Maddow's every word, no matter how many times I have proven to him that what he has been told is objectively, verifiably, irrefutably false.
But he still watches and believes. If only he felt that way about God, he's be a saint. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at April 06, 2024 08:17 AM (llXky) 40

I went to a Baptist funeral last week for a former boss that I was fond of. My first "real" job, and all that. He led a good life, lived to be 75, has 23 grandkids. Parking lot was packed, chairs set up in the hallways and into the lobby.
I hadn't been to a Baptist service in 20 years, and I guess they are all unique in some way. Perhaps because it wasn't a normal service, it felt more like a variety show, with different groups singing songs, a video tribute, and a few spirited hymns. The pastor conducted the congregation, so they were quite good. Overall, it lived up to its billing, "a celebration of life." It was a bit uncomfortable (I was squeezed between two strangers, couldn't see the pulpit or clearly hear some of the speakers), but I was glad I went. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Better than the Methodist funeral I attended about 8 years ago. As I walked out I asked The Fabulous WTF was the message? She of course told me to watch my language as she was standing next to me and didn't want the lightning bolt to zap her as well.
Posted by: Misanthropic Humanitarian Who Lives In The Frozen Tundra at April 06, 2024 08:28 AM (QXQ4l) --- My grandfather's funeral Mass was at his home parish, which he supported lavishly. My grandmother's was at the National Basilica of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. Beautiful building, lovely service. My father's father got a nice Methodist funeral, ironically (or pointedly?) in the very church they forced him out of for being too traditional. The place was packed. With his passing, my grandmother eventually moved "up north" to say with her daughter and the family there. She had a modest funeral in the local church, not sure of the denomination, but the pastor was very fond of her in the time she stayed there. It was bittersweet because we missed her but she had a great life and her last words were: "I'm going to see my husband now. Good bye." Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. One of the elders and his nephews are coming out this afternoon to try out my "range" across the road on Stimpson timber property. The only "work" planned is continuing with my girls milking re-education. Babies are due in a couple weeks and hopefully I can train some of their milk stand orneryness out of them.

One of the best ones I ever attended was for a young man who who had committed slow suicide, and the place was packed with his twitching and strung out friends. I think they are still waiting for some results. The surgeon said he had "something weird" going on in there. I think to some degree that sects using private (not the public sort) confessionals promote better mental health in some ways.
Posted by: whig at April 06, 2024 08:55 AM (G0ieF) --- Confession can be intimidating, but I've come to enjoy it. You spill your guts, listen to what you need to do to make things better, and then do those things and it's a huge relief. Over time, the annoyance of confessing the same sins over and over caused me to give most of them up. Which is nice. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at April 06, 2024 09:03 AM (XkYcA) --- Is that really what it is about, though? It's not hard to take a break from Mass. The key is accepting that "reverts" are a thing. I actually raised my kids to be reverts. I knew a time would come in their teens when they would dig in their heels and say "NO!" I accepted that, stopped asking the to go to Mass, but I also said "You have to go to Christmas and Easter if you want to benefit from those holidays. You don't have to receive Communion, but you do have to go." They agreed, and two of the three have fully come home. On disability and missing three fingers on his left hand he was quite the lovable character. Amiable, articulate and adventurous he would hitch rides on trains all over the country from his home base in Johnson City, Tennessee. The circumstances regarding his death are sad. I thought her COVID-19 Wuhan diagnosis was bullshit, and an effort by the hospital to grab more money. At home, she tested negative for COVID-19 Wuhan. She is not a stoic, but does have opioid pain pills available. She is recovering, albiet slowly. Posted by: NaCly Dog at April 06, 2024 09:25 AM (u82oZ) 235

I'm not in any way for mandating EV trucks. But to say they can’t and don’t work is a bit extreme.
Posted by: Montec at April 06, 2024 09:21 AM (ZEhcA) The best EV semi has a range of 500 miles, and that's unloaded and with non freezing temperatures, both of which downgrade range dramatically. A diesel semi with a 300 gal tank has a range of 2,000 miles between fill-ups. EV trucks are worthless for interstate shipping, which is what the modern supply chain depends on. Posted by: FenelonSpoke My mother was raised Presbyterian. As kids we attended a Presbyterian church. Later in life she began attending a Catholic church. I decided to give her some grief about it. In her calm, methodical, logical way, she calmly asked me, do they have Bibles in Catholic churches? Yes. Then God's word is present. Do you think the Holy Spirit is present? Yes. So you would agree that God is at work there also? Yes. She gently, and not for the first time, reminded me to keep my eyes on the Lord and not on man. Her practical reason for changing churches was because my younger brother was deaf and they had the only sign language service in Spokane. Posted by: Tom Servo at April 06, 2024 09:54 AM (5VNCl) --- Yeah, he's also pulling the "I don't understand you" rather than answering the substance of the argument. EV batteries are highly combustible and difficult to put out. They can burn for days, and most fire departments are not equipped to deal with them. That is why they have massive subsidies to push them. The fact that a handful of companies are buying tiny orders of vehicles doesn't mean they are viable, it just means that companies are taking tax breaks. I mean, really. "They did the research." Yes, like here in my city where they scan your ID for a sudafed purchase, meanwhile a few miles down the road there's a known meth house operating across the street from a public library. The nearby retailers and residences are upset by the crime/daily harassment from methheads, the librarians yammer on about how it's their job to care for the methhead homeless OD'ing in and outside the library, and the police are . . . doing something, they assure us. . . Go beyond the incentives FedGov has for buying an EV.
Why is there an apparent mandate by FedGov to migrate the entire public to EV's? There was a number of mandates with the covid op too. Get the shot. Wear a mask. Etc. It's all about compliance. Forced or otherwise. Our betters hate the idea that we're able to move about freely... escaping a shit hole for some greener pastures. It's really difficult to subjugate a society if they can move about freely, so make it hard for the public to do that. EV's are one way. Relying on sketchy electric infrastructure helps. So does crippling the oil and gas industries. Dangle "15 minute cities" as an alternative. Push public transportation, eliminate the need for personal transportation. The leftists really do have a plan. It's a sucky plan, but they're going with it. Posted by: Martini Farmer at April 06, 2024 10:14 AM (Q4IgG) 357

The only reason EVs are being pushed is because of the phony hysteria over global warming and the ridiculous premise that oil and gas are harming the environment. If looked at solely on economics, they make absolutely no sense. The rare earth minerals needed to make them. The wear and tear on roads by the extra heavy weight of the vehicles. The stuff the tires put into the atmosphere through wear and tear. The fact that they do not last and have no resale value.
The whole concept of turning our efficient and economical way of moving ourselves and good from place to place into an inefficient, pollution producing EV fleet, makes absolutely no sense. Posted by: Sharon(willow's apprentice) at April 06, 2024 10:48 AM (t/2Uw) 412

My previous Dr in MA told me he had women in their 80's still taking it and they looked great. My current Dr thinks it's fine as long as I take the minimum dose necessary. It is a combo estrogen/progesteron.
The only problem is that it is not approved for this use by a lot of insurance schedules which makes it ridiculously expensive. $175/mo. Supply. I pay $142 for 3 month supply from Canada including shipping to my door. Posted by: Sharon(willow's apprentice) at April 06, 2024 11:04 AM (t/2Uw) 439

Posted by: Ignoramus at April 06, 2024 10:33 AM (Gse2f) The biggest problem with the EV push is that there is no design, no planning let alone Central Planning, for a nationwide EV charging system that meets the electrical supply, distribution, and charging-point number and location needs. And is as reliable as the current gas and diesel system. The Idiots likely have a draft plan but it's telling that they never show it to the public. It must be horrible news from top to bottom. The capability to support the number of EVs they want in use by 2032 is likely projected to be in operation no earlier than 2042, maybe 2052. I expect the "Plan" for now is to get Congress to give Joe 5 Trillion Dollars in late 2026 for a crash program to build stuff; and the "Climate Corps" will be used as instantly-available labor (overseers, actually, with a million border jumpers with green cards doing the real work at construction union labor rates). There were two rationales for The Electric Car, back in the Disney fantasy days, that had little to do with saving the planet. One, before all-day batteries were even dreamt of, had power leads buried in the road. It was a way to say that the free electricity from massive atomic research would somehow be a good thing. The second was the panic lurch from 1973, when it looked to a few like there might not be any gasoline at all in the future, and dreamers had to scramble for a way to get their science fiction characters around the dysphoric bladerunner cities.
