Good morning Horde. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping items (Rulz for those of you in Waupaca). In case you haven't heard J.J. Sefton is having some serious health issues. Please keep him in your prayers at this time.

Prayer Requests:
3/2 Reforger asked for prayers for his Coworker “D”, a widowed mom of 4 who is having a rough time with daughter #1. D’s daughter had to be incarcerated. She went nuts, trashed her room, broke things, and even kicked a cop. She could use a lot of prayers.
3/31 Update – Coworker D’s daughter is making pretty good headway. Jail really left an impression and she is not a fan of the ankle monitor and probation. No serious issues since, but she is still a little cray cray. No drugs tho.
2/27 – rhennigantx asked for prayers for his friend Tim, who had a stroke on Sunday.
3/9 Update – Prayers are still needed for Tim and his daughters. They are moving Tim to a rehab hospital.
2/29 – DaveT asks for prayers. We had prayed in the past for him, as he was trying to save his cats and his home from repossession (due to a relative who burdened the family home with debt). DaveT is over 65 and is not able to work much. The cats are elderly and one is blind, and the only family he has. Things had turned around and it looked like he was going to be fine last summer, but now a new judge is on the case and seems to want to kick DaveT and the cats out of the house. Please pray. If anyone wants to contribute, Annie’s Stew has the details of his GiveSendGo.
3/20 Update – The sham trial took place on 3/20. The judge would not allow DaveT to speak or give any evidence. He is still taking donations for a new appeal.
3/3 – Commissar of Plenty and Lysenkoism in Solidarity with the Struggle to maintain Moron standards asked for prayers as he is scared to death of some much-needed surgery. Pain, healing, iyiyi! Even the red tape involved in scheduling. Thank you all again!
3/18 Update – The surgery is scheduled for 4/5.
3/9 – Jim (in Kalifornia) posted that his father-in-law passed away.
3/9 – Mindful webworker posted that his beloved wife (MiladyJo) will be having a second hip replacement. Prayers that this one also goes well, and ends years of terrible pain.
3/16 Update – MiladyJo now has matching titanium hips and is home, scooting around and recovering. As for Mindful webworker’s health status, he is still waiting to hear when they can go back in to work on his guts and possibly fix him up.
3/9 – Cybersmythe had a job interview. It went well, but he is asking for prayers that it went well enough.
3/16 Update – The job went to someone else who already had experience programming the equipment. He said after last week’s conversation and some reflection, he decided he should hope for guidance to the right position and the wisdom to recognize it when it appears.
3/9 – RedMindBlueState asked for prayers for his dear friend who miscarried Wednesday. Again.
3/30 Update – Apologies from Annie, for guessing RedMindBlueState’s sex incorrectly. It has been corrected (above).
3/9 – Halfhand asks for prayers and support for her dear friend and former neighbor, Kathleen, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. She has undergone a double mastectomy and is healing well. She starts radiation in March and the first reconstruction surgery in April.
3/9 – Emmie sends her thanks to the Horde for their prayers on behalf of Mr. Bassman as he recovers from knee replacement. He’s doing great! He is dedicated to his PT routines.
3/9 – Hadrian the Seventh asked for prayers for Her Majesty, who is having knee replacement surgery. He’d like prayers for a successful operation, but also an uneventful recovery. Her previous surgery in 2019 (on the other knee) was marked by great pain and the effect of the medication was terrible.
3/30 Update – Her Majesty’s surgery went well, even though this knee was in much worse shape and needed tendon repair as well. But the post-operative pain was much better managed. She is up and around on a walker.
3/9 – Piper sent news about her daughter and her eye issue. Her doctor said the MRI results were everything they hoped for, that he knew the radiologist and trusts the reading. At this point, they will wait 6 months and then check again. But he said they should celebrate – doctor’s orders!
3/9 – Dr_No asked for prayers for his daughter, Megan. We had prayed for her in 2021, when she had cancer. Her cancer is still in remission, but she has blood clots in her lungs. She went to the local ER, where they said everything was normal. She sent a message to her PCP, to ask her to review the situation. She is still weak, and gets tired if a conversation lasts more than 1-2 sentences. Please pray that she be restored to full health. Thanks once again to the Horde for the help.
3/30 Update – Megan no longer has blood clots in her lungs, but she will need to be on Xarelto from now on. In the meantime, she developed shingles. Many thanks to the Horde for their words up for Megan. As of now, the colorectal cancer is two years + gone, the blood clots and under control, and shingles appears to be healing. The Horde is amazing.
3/14 – Tonypete requests prayers for the family of their borrowed grandbaby. His Mom and Dad are in the final stages of adoption of two brothers – 18 months and 2 years old. The boys have been in foster care since birth. Prayers are requested for a speedy conclusion to the process. Also prayers for the boys’ mother – 28 years old, nine children all by different fathers, and all have been removed from her home by CPS.
3/16 – Moron Robbie asked for prayers for an older buddy, who has been generally unhealth for a while now and just got over the flu, but now has pneumonia.
3/16 PaleRider asked for prayers for wisdom and serenity for herself and siblings. Her father died on 3/15. Dad had been slowly fading away for 1.5 years, so it was not a big shock. She thinks that settling the estate will go smoothly, but prayers are welcome.

3/16 – Winston, GOPe, McFailure wing of the Uniparty humbly asks for prayers for friends of friends who are stuck in Haiti with their two adopted children and four foundlings that have been in their family for several years. These are good, God-fearing Christians who have lived and taught and built homes there, as well as cared for orphans. Of course, being Christians, they are at the bottom of the list for extraction.
3/20 – Inogame sent an update. We had prayed for him and his wife when they had trouble conceiving. On 3/19, about 8:30 pm, his wife went into labor… and before 10 pm she gave birth to a little girl in their bathroom, with a midwife on the phone assuring Inogame he wouldn’t drop the baby. He didn’t and Mom and baby are doing well, and prayers for their health are appreciated. In an unrelated prayer request, Inogame asks for prayers for a good friend from childhood is struggling with addiction. He checked into an in-patient facility for 30 days to save his job and hopefully his life. He is lost and needs help to find his way.
3/23 – Jewells would appreciate prayers for her niece, who is in the hospital for the second time in a week. She was diagnosed with pneumonia the first time, but still felt awful. She went back to ER, and they admitted her again. Her oxygen level was 76. She is the niece who is fighting cervical cancer.
3/23 – Sock Monkey asks for prayers for his BIL, who we prayed for before, does have a cancerous mass on his spine. He spent 8 weeks in the hospital. He is walking with a walker and making significant progress. The battle plan is to start cancer treatments in mid-April.
3/23 – Fenelon Spoke needs prayers for Jessie, their “retired” organist. Jesse had fallen. Nothing was broken, but it is a setback for her and she is in pain.
3/23 – NR Pax asked for prayers. He is leaving his current job on 3/29 and starting a new one the following week. Please pray for the transition.
3/28 – Reforger asked for prayers for his wife, who is applying for a promotion. The new job would triple her salary.
3/30 – Danimal28 asked for prayers for Roberta and Jim, who were neighbors and friends. Jim went to the Pearly Gates. He was faithfully married for 60 years, a father of four successful kids, a veteran of active duty for 3 years just after the Korean War, and raised his family in South Chicago in the 50s and 60s. Danimal28 and he discussed history on a daily basis.
3/30 – rhennigantx requests prayers for his friend Carl, who died in his sleep. He knew him for 4 years and Carl always treated him like a long-lost friend. Also prayers for the family (which is as complicated as Father’s Day at a DEI meeting), for their pain and suffering.
3/30 – mindful webworker asked for prayers as he is going under the knife again for what will be a few hours’ surgery and maybe a week in the hospital. His surgeon used the word “mystery” three times while describing what they will be doing.
3/30 – Polliwog the Ette posted that DOYLE had posted that his adult son had shared the troubles he was going through ,which left him shaken and in need of time to process. It sounds like they both could use some prayers.
3/30 – Jim in Kalifornia asked to add his sister to be added to the prayer list. She broke her arm/elbow 3 weeks ago. The first x-ray did not have the angle to properly see the damage, so now she is seeing an orthopedist who will recommend surgery. They will be re-attaching the ulna to the humerus.
3/30 – Fox2! Requested prayers for his great-nephew, J. He appears to have a severe case of Food Protein-Induced Entercolitis Syndrome (FPIES), which is an allergy to food proteins. His appears to be grass related, which includes all grains, even if his mother eats them.
3/30 – Tonypete offered a prayer for the “mother of nine” who gave her ninth child the blessing of being adopted. May the biological mother come to a knowledge of the Lord’s saving grace.
4/1 – News from Washington Nearsider: His savings have expired and May's bills cannot yet be paid. Another custody hearing - to reevaluate the March 13 determination to give his ex full custody - has been scheduled for May 13th, so that's a date on the calendar towards which he has to work.
He has added one (1) client to his custom model aircraft list, and hopes to add several more, even though he can only work on one at a time. Having a known stream of income is better than not. On the job front, Nearsider had a promising interview, only to be told at the end that though his writing samples, resume, attitude, background, and presentation were all exceptional, his removal from federal service prevented any path forward. Nearsider explained the details leading up to his removal, and while the panel expressed their sympathies for his situation and their admiration at his courage, their position was unchanged. He suspects this employer was simply the first to be so direct, and that he's missed out on several other opportunities for the same reason.
Several contractors have contacted him in response to applications he's submitted and he's hoping at least one of them will be willing to focus on the writing, resume, attitude, background, and presentation vice the end of his federal career. As usual, more follows.

4/3 – Notsothoreau posted that Mrs. Salty (as in Mrs. NaClyDog) had a bad fall and broke four ribs. She tested positive for Covid, as well. Prayers for quick healing and that she is out of the hospital soon.
4/4 – J. J. Sefton could use prayers. Here was his posting:
“After suffering some sort of seizure back in February, while the initial MRI and spinal tap showed nothing, a subsequent MRI this past Friday evidently seems to indicate that I might have some sort of brain tumor/growth that would require immediate attention. As in surgery.
That said, on a positive note -- and I'm holding onto this bit of news as positive with all my might -- the medical neurology team and the surgical neurology team are apparently still reading the tea leaves to see what kind of surgery, if any, is required to deal with this. I am hoping against hope for that non-surgical option but am preparing myself as best as I can for whatever is to be.”

9 Asking for prayers for a sweet pup who was just diagnosed with cancer.
She belongs to my dear friend and dogsitter who saved my own vdoggeh's life by rushing him to the vet hospital when he bloated. She is devastated.

And also please maybe throw in a prayer for vdoggeh's health, who today again has the attack of the liquid poos from hell.

Probiotics for dogs as a regular treatment can help with that. Our dogs like to eat rabbit poo and one likes to eat fresh creeping charlie to their detriment.

Lot less problems with their fecal emissions (as well as a previous doggie) since we add Fortiflora daily to their meal as a powder. Believe that you can also get it in pill form from a variety of sources.

Two of the doggies with intestinal problems were rescued strays that ate whatever to stay alive. The other dog which was fostered and never lived outside in his life like the Creeping Charlie plant in spring to the violent disagreement with his digestive system.

He'd been having it daily, then was getting the runs and gas, so I stopped it and he got better.
Maybe it was too much and now he needs more? I'll give him a little.

45 Rev had some tests done and we just got the results last night. He has a cracked sternum from our earlier car accident. They also found several nodules in his lungs. And an aortic aneurysm as well. We see the doctor Monday morning, although my daughter wants me to take him to the ER today. He isn't showing any symptoms. Prayers would be most appreciated.

64 I went to a Baptist funeral last week for a former boss that I was fond of. My first "real" job, and all that. He led a good life, lived to be 75, has 23 grandkids. Parking lot was packed, chairs set up in the hallways and into the lobby.

I hadn't been to a Baptist service in 20 years, and I guess they are all unique in some way. Perhaps because it wasn't a normal service, it felt more like a variety show, with different groups singing songs, a video tribute, and a few spirited hymns. The pastor conducted the congregation, so they were quite good.

Overall, it lived up to its billing, "a celebration of life." It was a bit uncomfortable (I was squeezed between two strangers, couldn't see the pulpit or clearly hear some of the speakers), but I was glad I went.

My grandfather's funeral Mass was at his home parish, which he supported lavishly. My grandmother's was at the National Basilica of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. Beautiful building, lovely service.

My father's father got a nice Methodist funeral, ironically (or pointedly?) in the very church they forced him out of for being too traditional. The place was packed.

With his passing, my grandmother eventually moved "up north" to say with her daughter and the family there. She had a modest funeral in the local church, not sure of the denomination, but the pastor was very fond of her in the time she stayed there. It was bittersweet because we missed her but she had a great life and her last words were: "I'm going to see my husband now. Good bye."

Buddy had an old N series tractor. His nephew was a welder. He made a bodacious front bumper, 4" square pipe, with a round pipe grill guard and pan guard on the underside.

We would drive it up on the brush, front wheels 3' off the ground and let the weight of the tractor push it down. Fun times.

128 Am update for all the prayer warriors here on my dad, mindful Webworker:
He had surgery on Tuesday and it went "ok" according to the surgeon. They were able to remove all the infected tissue, they think.
He is still in the hospital with possibly another week or more to go. Still in some pain but getting a little better everyday. Many tubes and wires hooked up to him still.
The nurses and doctors seem to be of the best quality. His family sends prayers of Thanksgiving for good medical staff and the amazing support of all those praying for him.

The nurses and doctors seem to be of the best quality. His family sends prayers of Thanksgiving for good medical staff and the amazing support of all those praying for him.

I think to some degree that sects using private (not the public sort) confessionals promote better mental health in some ways.

I've seen too many folks in really strict religious sects go off the rails at times or even become estranged from religion altogether.

Myself, I avoid blasphemies but have on occasion due to growing up on a farm and military service engage in profanity at times when working on equipment that does not want to cooperate.

I think they are still waiting for some results. The surgeon said he had "something weird" going on in there. Possibly just a longstanding issue that caused infection which can apparently harden around the organs and make surgery difficult. It was, according too the surgeon.

Confession can be intimidating, but I've come to enjoy it. You spill your guts, listen to what you need to do to make things better, and then do those things and it's a huge relief.

Over time, the annoyance of confessing the same sins over and over caused me to give most of them up. Which is nice.

The flip side is that if you know you are saved, that God loves you unconditionally and all you have to do is apologize in prayer, that can enable seriously toxic behavior.

Is that really what it is about, though? It's not hard to take a break from Mass. The key is accepting that "reverts" are a thing.

I actually raised my kids to be reverts. I knew a time would come in their teens when they would dig in their heels and say "NO!" I accepted that, stopped asking the to go to Mass, but I also said "You have to go to Christmas and Easter if you want to benefit from those holidays. You don't have to receive Communion, but you do have to go." They agreed, and two of the three have fully come home. The eldest has other issues, but she's consented to her children being raised in the Church.

So a certain patience and flexibility is required. St. Monica, pray for us!

On disability and missing three fingers on his left hand he was quite the lovable character. Amiable, articulate and adventurous he would hitch rides on trains all over the country from his home base in Johnson City, Tennessee. The circumstances regarding his death are sad. He's been missing for a few days and yesterday his body was recovered from a lake near where he lived.

There was an incident in Mexico 4 or 5 years back, there was a hole knocked in a gasoline line and all the locals were filling up jugs and whatever they could with the free gas, went on for awhile and nobody official noticed (more likely were paid not to notice) until one day somebody lit up a smoke at the site. 60, 70 burned to death, something like that.

The best EV semi has a range of 500 miles, and that's unloaded and with non freezing temperatures, both of which downgrade range dramatically. A diesel semi with a 300 gal tank has a range of 2,000 miles between fill-ups. EV trucks are worthless for interstate shipping, which is what the modern supply chain depends on.

My mother was raised Presbyterian. As kids we attended a Presbyterian church. Later in life she began attending a Catholic church. I decided to give her some grief about it. In her calm, methodical, logical way, she calmly asked me, do they have Bibles in Catholic churches? Yes. Then God's word is present. Do you think the Holy Spirit is present? Yes. So you would agree that God is at work there also? Yes. She gently, and not for the first time, reminded me to keep my eyes on the Lord and not on man. Her practical reason for changing churches was because my younger brother was deaf and they had the only sign language service in Spokane.

I have to design vehicle wraps for my guys all over the country (260 offices), and even though we offer a killer deal for them on RAM products through a partner program with Stellantis, most of them still choose the Fords.

297 Opioid pain pills are the best. Use them when you need them and stop when you don't. The label on the bottle is bull. Taking them on the regular is not the way pain works. Don't take them when you don't need them but do take them when you need them. Stretch them interval as much as you can then take what you need.

^^This a thousand times! I take a milder form of pain pills in the evening before bed mostly for my damn arthritis. I save the oxycontin for after my infusions and then the most I take is 2 then I try to rely on advil or the milder pain killer. The oxy makes me so damn sleepy I can't function. Ford is "storing" hundreds, if not thousands of F-150's at the Michigan International Speedway. Both ICE and EV versions. The EV version (Lightning) isn't selling and the others don't have necessary chips for whatever accessories are on them.

Up near Cincinnati at the Kentucky Speedway there's a similar number of Ford trucks sitting out in the parking areas. Same reasons.

EV batteries are highly combustible and difficult to put out. They can burn for days, and most fire departments are not equipped to deal with them.

That is why they have massive subsidies to push them. The fact that a handful of companies are buying tiny orders of vehicles doesn't mean they are viable, it just means that companies are taking tax breaks.

Our cat the other day found a weirdly shaped big caterpillar that jumped around I'm strange ways when it was bothered. It freaked the cat out and luckily I saw him acting strange and was able to rescue it and put it someplace safe. Looked it up, it was a Giant Swallowtail.

I can't take estrogen due to a history of blood clots, and thankfully I haven't had a bad perimenopause (so far). I've been taking some of the advice in Lara Briden's Hormone Repair Manual. She goes over a lot of the conventional treatments, but also discusses supplements and nutrition. I think it's helped me, but again my symptoms have been VERY mild. (I'm just ready to be over and done with...)

Reminds me when we were living in Colorado three years ago, we took the Memorial Day weekend to make a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Problem is, the weather was awful that weekend, and there was a fair amount of snow at the higher elevations. But it wasn't THAT cold, so... the fog was total and complete. You literally could not see more than 10 feet in front of you, as you stared out toward the vistas.

It wasn't a complete wasted trip for us, and when we decided to leave, it was just a matter of planning another weekend trip later in the summer. But all those other tourists... there were cars from all across the country. They made the trip out there from wherever, and you literally could not see anything.

Oh well.

438 Jordan, I take what's called a lo dose every other day. I have been taking it for quite a while. A very long quite a while. My previous Dr in MA told me he had women in their 80's still taking it and they looked great. My current Dr thinks it's fine as long as I take the minimum dose necessary. It is a combo estrogen/progesteron.
The only problem is that it is not approved for this use by a lot of insurance schedules which makes it ridiculously expensive. $175/mo. Supply. I pay $142 for 3 month supply from Canada including shipping to my door.

This was after I moved out west. Back in the midwest, I needed the power, and gave all those away when I took Horace Greeley's advice.

The biggest problem with the EV push is that there is no design, no planning let alone Central Planning, for a nationwide EV charging system that meets the electrical supply, distribution, and charging-point number and location needs. And is as reliable as the current gas and diesel system. The Idiots likely have a draft plan but it's telling that they never show it to the public. It must be horrible news from top to bottom. The capability to support the number of EVs they want in use by 2032 is likely projected to be in operation no earlier than 2042, maybe 2052.

I expect the "Plan" for now is to get Congress to give Joe 5 Trillion Dollars in late 2026 for a crash program to build stuff; and the "Climate Corps" will be used as instantly-available labor (overseers, actually, with a million border jumpers with green cards doing the real work at construction union labor rates).

We are doomed on this if Trump loses. If he wins, the doom will only be delayed a little if a Democrat Socialist wins in 2028.

What do you and other folks in your areas expect cloud cover to be? The forecasts I've seen predict near complete overcast, along with a high probability of rain, along the entire Texas track, Arkansas and beyond look little better. I have a viewing spot available at the MoMe location, but it looks like it will be a no-view place and a useless drive up there.
