Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Disney Throws In the Towel; Agrees That Reedy Creek Is No Longer Their Private Corporate FeifdomThe leftwing media has been misinforming its diminishing number of readers for Allies of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Disney reached a settlement agreement Wednesday in a lawsuit over who controls Walt Disney World's governing district. In a meeting, the members of the board of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District approved the settlement agreement, ending almost two years of litigation that was sparked by DeSantis' takeover of the district from Disney supporters following the company's opposition to Florida's so-called "Don't Say Gay" law.Morrissey points out that this "settlement" consists of Disney dropping its claims to own the Reedy Creek Improvement District, in exchange for the new body controlling that area not continuing to sue Disney over its illegal actions to keep its filthy claws on the property. The Tampa Free Press describes this settlement more accurately. Remember, before the Reedy Creek Improvement District was dissolved, the corrupt Disney pawns controlling it quickly passed "rules" declaring that Disney owned the area forever and ever and no act of the state could ever, ever disturb this perpetual ownership. Disney now admits that those new "rules" were bullshit. Florida's Voice Disney has withdrawn its lawsuits against the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and acknowledges that the development agreement made at the last minute is invalid and unenforceable. ... "As usual, the media were wrong," said Florida Governor DeSantis' Communications Director Bryan Griffin Wednesday. "Today's settlement also includes acknowledgement from Disney that the last-minute Development Agreement is "null and void... hav[ing] no legal effect or enforceability" and stipulates the same to other similar restrictive covenants and comprehensive plan amendments made prior to CFTOD," said Griffin. In exchange, the current government of the region agrees that it won't continue suing Disney for its corrupt skulduggery. AP thinks this is a win for Disney. Bob Iger is spinning his allies in the media, because the proxy vote which may seal his fate is being held on April 3. He needs his allies and shills to continue painting him as the ultimate winner, even after he takes legal loss upon financial disaster.

I was on a project in Doral for four months during the wort of the summer, we all had apartments with attached unconditioned garages, by the time I left my apartment to the time I stepped foot into the car, I was drenched in sweat, then you spend the next 30 minutes driving to site, park, get out of your car, get soaking wet again, then spend 10-12 hours in an air conditioned studio, and repeat the same process going back to your apartment. I guess there might be, but I imagine it would take a lot to contaminate a ships fuel supply and make its engines and generators die 30 minutes after leaving port. Electrical problems on ships are pretty common (salt water and electronics don't mix well) and this ship in particular apparently had a history of them. You can see the diesel engine start up and get set to full throttle almost immediately when the power comes back on the last time before it hit the bridge. Also, someone on Twitter dug up a book that mentions that the Coast Guard had an active betting pool on a ship hitting the Key bridge when it first opened, so what happened wasn't unforseen. Morrissey points out that this "settlement" consists of Disney dropping its claims to own the Reedy Creek Improvement District, in exchange for the new body controlling that area not continuing to sue Disney over its illegal actions to keep its filthy claws on the property.
++++ Bummer. Honestly, this is sort of a typical sweetheart deal giant corps and major Party players get all the time. They drop the matter against the state, and the state gives them immunity. No fines, no jail, nobody gets fired, and everybody walks away. Disney is the net loser - it lost Reedy Creek and so this sage is in fact a touch different from the typical routine - but nobody at Disney or the former Reedy Creek will be help accountable. I still remember when FDR dropped those bombs on Japan. People said he shouldn't do it...they said he couldn't do it...you know, since he was a cripple. But even though he couldn't stand, he walked to the plane and got in. And did he just take on one bomb? No this guy, this sexy manly hunk of a man, who honestly reminds me of myself little, he asked for two bombs. I'll never forget the words he said to me as I got in the fighter plane to escort him, he said Joe you keep those Nips off me and I'll win this damn war. And damn but we did. I mean, it was really me, I shot down 50 planes over California before we even got to Japan, but FDR? He was almost as awesome as me that day. But...but...I always have to remember that was the day we lost Beau. He was FDR's tail gunner, and some German...I think he was named Trump or Reagan or something...came in with his MIG and got in one lucky bullet. Damn you Trump! You killed Beau! If you aren't on/very near the coast, hurricanes are mostly just an inconvenience (power's out for a day or 3). But yes, insurance rates should be tied to the risk. I think the boat crash was a true accident due to the ship power failure. Winds were pushing the ship southerly. You can see the lights go off, the ship twisting towards the south (towards the camera). Then, when the power blinked back on, black smoke from the stack, probably the engines starting up again.
Also, when the lights went back on, only some of them were up. Sam Mercogliano speculates that was an emergency generator. Power went off again, and when it was restored, you can see the ship just start to turn to port before it crashed. So, I am thinking it was an unfortunate accident. They also dropped the port anchor early, but you can't stop a big ass ship going 8 knots on a dime. Posted by: Deplorable Ian Galt at March 27, 2024 02:15 PM (ufFY8) 359

Jon Stewart found to have overvalued his NYC home by 829% after labeling Trump’s civil case ‘not victimless’ In 2014, Stewart sold his 6,280-square-foot Tribeca duplex to financier Parag Pande for $17.5 million. The property’s asking price at that time is not available in listing records. But according to 2013-2014 assessor records obtained by The Post, the property had the estimated market-value at only $1.882 million. The actual assessor valuation was even lower, at $847,174. Records also show that Stewart paid significantly lower property taxes, which were calculated based on that assessor valuation price — precisely what he called Trump out for doing in his Monday monologue. And thanks, I saw TPM enough in theaters. 9 times. I'm done. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, fighting zombies with George A. Romero at March 27, 2024 02:10 PM (GBKbO) Just TPM at my local theater. I think Iger's big walk away win here was getting the government to use the term "settlement". '"Can't you just call it a settlement" he mewled? "Whatever" said DeSantis.

Let's see, the government got everything it wanted, and Disney got...what exactly? Right...nothing.

I really can't fathom a corporation receiving billions of $ in benefits deciding, hey, we want to now weigh in on social issues and force the government to comply with our vision for society.
The thing is, being woke makes you stupid, because it means elevating less important things too high in the hierarchy of things. In this case your billions in tax breaks were critically important, and the opinion of a few employees about childhood education was not. But woke made you think that, yeah, we are standing up for this or that, fighting the man....ooopsie. Posted by: El Mariachi Attorney at Law at March 27, 2024 02:26 PM (ARlwA) 375
Was the media ALWAYS this wrong and there weren’t enough sources to out the bullshit?
I know Hurst said you provide the pictures and I’ll provide the war, but this is happening even with the “small stuff” stories. Posted by: Jake Speed at March 27, 2024 02:30 PM (0oBe7) 376

It's the government's job to protect our liberties, not protect our health. I was watching a video on YouTube yesterday, and I got a ad from Disney promoting their board nominees over that "evil" Nelson Peltz. I was directed to go to the "Votedisney.com" website.
I owned Disney stock a few years ago, but I sold it a while back. I don't know how I got targeted for the ad. The YouTube video I was watching had nothing to do with Disney. Posted by: bleakdaze at March 27, 2024 04:50 PM (rTsmm) Processing 0.07, elapsed 0.0714 seconds. |
