The Morning Report — 3/27/24

kwaimekwainot.jpg

Good morning, kids. Could there possibly be a more appropriate metaphor for the state of this nation than what happened yesterday morning in Baltimore? And of course, the cherry on the parfait of flaming horse dung – a sack of which evidently was deposited on the doorstep of Jake Sullivan and is being investigated by the FBI as a potential act of terrorism – is vegetable-in-chief Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants' comments:

"It’s my intention that federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge," he said, "and I expect to — the Congress to support my effort." It seems a bit premature to be talking about rebuilding the bridge and discussing how it will be paid for while people are still missing, but that's Joe Biden for you.

But what gets me is the way he tried to connect himself to the tragedy, by claiming that he took the train over the bridge many, many times. "At about 1:30, a container ship struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which I’ve been over many, many times commuting from the state of Delaware either on a train or by car," he said. "I’ve been to Baltimore Harbor many times. And the bridge collapsed, sending several people and vehicles into the water — into the river."I

t's a cute story, but the Francis Scott Key Bridge doesn't have any tracks on it — just two lanes for car traffic in each direction. So despite what he claims, Biden never once took the train over that bridge. So the big question is, why would he say that? Biden's commuting habits have long been a part of his political mythology, as he reportedly commuted from his home in Delaware to Washington, D.C. via Amtrak daily during his years in the U.S. Senate. . . Yada, yada, yada.

In truth, I wouldn't doubt that he probably crossed the bridge more than once in his life, but his desperate need to insert himself into the tragedy caused him to once again embellish his life story with falsehoods.

Joe Biden doesn't merely insert himself into a tragedy because of mere egomania and to assuage deep-seated feelings of inadequacy. Dementia aside, the volume and ferocity of his lashing out at his enemies is in inverse proportion to his accomplishments, scruples and value as a human being. He puts himself in the middle of events both for personal and political gain. Like every other uni-testicular/shrill barren spinster Leftist, despot and tyrant (but I repeat myself) has done since time immemorial.

Huge tip of the hat to the genius who coined the phrase "Munchausen's by Progressivism." It's at the heart of my political philosophy. To wit: every problem, tragedy, and disaster that has befallen the American people is either the fault of or exacerbated by orders of magnitude by Leftists, socialists, progressivism and their main entity, the Democrat Party. Any other discussion about retail politics, candidates, personalities and such is irrelevant. My assertion above is the only factor in weighing who and what to vote for and for sure, against.

Back to the initial gravamen of my discourse vis a vis the bridge, as well as the ideologically-driven incompetence that has seriously rotted out the infrastructure of our society, the nagging suspicion that this couldn't have been merely an accident is gnawing at me. The reason? The FBI is immediately ruling out what happened as deliberate:

Special agent Bill DelBagno of the FBI’s Baltimore field office agreed, saying, “The FBI on very first looking at and assessing this matter from an investigative standpoint, I want to be clear there is no specific or credible information to suggest there are ties to terrorism in this incident.”

“The FBI has been part of this response from the beginning… we will bring whatever resources that the FBI has to bear. We’ve already brought our crisis response, our victim services, and just recently our underwater search evidence recovery teams are on site,” DelBagno added.

“As the investigation goes on we will take it to its logical conclusion along with our partners. To the people of Baltimore, I ask you to be patient as we go through this and as information becomes available to us.”

This is the same FBI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the DOJ which in and of itself is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the anti-American Left and Democrat Party that along with the CIA and the media fabricated the so-called Steele Dossier as proof that Donald Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin to steal the 2016 election. That fabricated an "insurrection" narrative of the events of January 6th, 2021 to destroy not only Trump but any average citizen who was in DC that day merely exercising their First Amendment right to protest (our latest episode of the podcast with CBD and legal eagle "Vox Clamantis" is a must-listen on this subject, linked here and in the sidebar). The same FBI that is burying the "investigation" into the pipe bombs at RNC and DNC headquarters that no doubt they likely planted. The same FBI that has failed in preventing at least a dozen terrorist attacks since and of course including 9/11/01 yet is hell bent for leather to declare statistically non-existent "white supremacists" as well as climate change our greatest threat to national security. That actively targets parents at school board meetings and peaceful protesters in front of abortion mills as the real terrorists. And on and on and on.

The more I think about it, the more this thing stinks to high heaven. With a statement like that from this DelBagno flunky, there is no way in hell the FBI and by extension the Junta will ever backtrack. As time goes on, I suspect a cover-up will be in full effect, especially as November looms ever closer:

Steve Bannon noted Tuesday that the official explanation of what happened “doesn’t make sense.” He asked “how the ship turned directly into that [pylon] and the pilot didn’t drop the anchor? Dropping the anchor might’ve ripped the front of the ship apart, but it wouldn’t have taken out the bridge.”

All right, that’s a telling point, but there is no need to rush headlong down the rabbit hole. Maybe the pilot panicked. Maybe he had a terrible lapse in judgment. There is, however, much more. The courageous investigative journalist Lara Logan revealed that according to “multiple intel sources,” the destruction of the bridge was an “‘absolutely brilliant strategic attack’ on US critical infrastructure – most likely cyber – & our intel agencies know it.”

. . . Logan listed some of the ways in which the collapse of the bridge would hurt the nation, and thus aid our enemies: “Second busiest strategic roadway in the nation for hazardous material now down for 4-5 years – which is how long they say it will take to recover. Bridge was built specifically to move hazardous material – fuel, diesel, propane gas, nitrogen, highly flammable materials, chemicals and oversized cargo that cannot fit in the tunnels – that supply chain now crippled.” She also pointed out that the ship hit one of “two load-bearing pylons on each end” of the bridge; these are “the anchor points,” and Logan said that the attackers “knew that hitting either one one of them would be a fatal wound to the integrity of the bridge.” The attack, she added, was “perfectly targeted.”

. . . General Michael Flynn seemed to agree with Logan that the takedown of the bridge was intentional, or at very least was the result of incompetence in key positions. Flynn said: “This is a BLACK SWAN event. Black swans normally come out of the world of finance (not military). The standard operating procedures for all U.S. ports, harbors, and bays that transit commerce and military activities are supposed to maintain an incredible level of discipline, rigor and awareness for these very type events to not occur (ever!), yet here we are. There are harbor masters for every single one of these transit points in America that are in charge of assuring the safety of navigation…start there.” A black swan event is an unforeseen incident that has massive repercussions. . .

. . . Yes, it has come to this: our government, intelligence and law enforcement officials are so untrustworthy that if they say an incident is not terrorism, it very likely is. The collision of the ship with the Francis Scott Key Bridge could end up being a testimony to the fecklessness and incompetence of local officials and the others involved, which is born of far too much time and money being squandered on Critical Race Theory, gender madness and the like, instead of on training competent personnel. Whether or not the destruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge really was a terror attack, it will certainly weaken the nation, and in that it benefits the enemies of the United States.

The estimable Robert Spencer is dead right about that. But his statement introduces a very frightening possibility that cannot be ignored; That those who now control our government, the criminal justice system, the media and who are now the sole arbiters of right and wrong, and really good and evil are themselves the greatest enemy of the United States. Far more than even Islam, the ChiComs and the globalists. Probably because to one extent or another, they share the same goal: the destruction of America and nearly 2,000 years of societal and civilizational advancement from tyranny to individual liberty.

That is what the definition of "American exceptionalism" is. Not a boast of superiority vis a vis ubermenschen, but that our government and society as it was founded and intended was the exception to all others that came before it. One that was based on the notion of putting the individual at the top of the heap and a government that was limited in its scope and power, to guarantee and safeguard the rights and liberties of the individual citizen.

We sure as hell aren't that now. Probably haven't been that way for many years or even decades. And now because of a combination of factors, the illusion "that our flag was still there" has been completely exploded. The actions of the junta against we the people of We The People are undeniable. We are still enough of a threat to them, electoral and judicial shenanigans notwithstanding, by our mere presence that they have no compunction whatsoever in preventing us from even trying to reverse course "by any means necessary."

For those wholly unaware, due to 12 or more years of brainwashing via American academia, "that our flag was still there" is a line from the National Anthem. Not the Black National Anthem but the real one. The one that overpaid pituitary cases, wife-beaters and lowlives like Colin Kaepernick take a knee for. It's based on a poem written by Francis Scott Key, for whom the ruins of the smashed and shattered bridge was named after.

I assume that when, or even if it is ever rebuilt, it will be named "The Beau Biden/Big Guy Helluva Thing." That or whatever anti-American communist, Islamic, transexual pervert du jour they can come up with. And the 10% they can come up with for said Big Guy to make it happen.

I'm betting it'll be the "Allahu Akbar Kill the Yids Bridge to Paradise." No doubt designed by a graduate from the Claudine Gay School of Engineering. Maybe even Ahmed Mohammed, the 9th-grader from Dallas who built a clock for his science project!

Of course, if it actually gets built and not become another California High Speed Rail or Alaskan bridge to nowhere boondoggle, it will explode and collapse on a Jewish holiday, or a future 9/11 anniversary so they can blame the Mossad.

I heard someone on TV last night say that Monday was his first full day on the job at the Baltimore field office. First day! Not sure if that’s so… but if it is I’m not sure how he could be so confident and knowledgeable about what threats that office had been tracking.

It’s sad but I usually these days assume the opposite of what any govt official says is probably the truth.

February 2024 - White House puts out Executive Order to boost cybersecurity at US shipping ports

March 2024 - giant ship loses power twice, aims directly at bridge, destroys bridge, and closes down 10th busiest US port for months

Let us assume, for the moment, that the destruction of the bridge was intentional. I can virtually guarantee that the blame will not fall on Chynah, it will not fall on "our partners in peace" - the muslims, the blame will be placed on Russia. It will be used to ramp the Russia hate up again and used as an excuse to get us into a direct shooting war with Russia.

Now, let us assume that the destruction of the bridge was NOT intentional. What are the chances that the FBI, paragons of truth and justice that they are, will discover, to their horror, a Russian connection?

32 I dunno about the Baltimore bridge incident being a conventional terrorist attack.

If it were, you'd think they'd target the bridge during the middle of the day when it was full of traffic and therefore cause a great deal more loss of life.

A covert act of war, though, is entirely plausible as it causes tremendous confusion, panic, and economic damage to The Powers That Be (assuming they aren't behind it all) *without* a huge loss of life, which can be counterproductive in some cases.

I have no idea why the power kept going out on the ship. I do have an idea that an anchor being deployed changed the course of the ship in the final minute. They say it was only the port (left) side anchor which was deployed but the starboard (right) side anchor is not visible.

In a narrow channel the deeper water would have been on the port side. Shallower water on the starboard side. The anchor on that side would be more likely to 'bite' first which would bring the ship into the bridge support.

57 Bloomberg Intelligence reports:

Reinsurers Could Bear Brunt of Baltimore Bridge Collapse Claims

The bulk of claims from the March 26 Baltimore bridge collapse will likely fall on reinsurers. The ship has about $3 billion of reinsurance coverage over a $100 million retention. Chubb is reported to be the lead insurer on the bridge's property cover but might recover losses paid. We note it's still early, and this will be a complex loss.

Yeah, better term for it than terror attack.
The key distinction they seem to be refusing to consider: that it was an intentional strike against the U.S. -- Even after China's act of war in releasing a global pandemic, using the ensuing panic to make significant economic inroads, acquire US land, etc.

Posted by: Mister Scott (Formerly GWS) at March 27, 2024 07:53 AM (QNSds)

The SS Lockbox was raided by Ida May Fuller. Little did know she would find a piece of history inside her mailbox when she opened it on a February day in 1940. When the 65-year-old retiree and lifelong Republican lifted the lid of the mailbox outside the front door of her Ludlow, Vermont, house, she found a check for $22.54 from the U.S. government.
Fuller received quite a healthy return on her contributions to the Social Security system. For three years prior to her retirement, she paid $24.75 of payroll taxes into the federal safety net. In the 35 years after her retirement, she received $22,888.92 in benefits, 924 times what she contributed to the program.

80 Could it be that the foundation for the bridge was not sufficiently protected from impact because wetland regulations prevented construction of a large riprap lined earthfill? See Hart Miller dredged material disposal sites as example. Similar Power pylons adjacent to bridge do have addional fenders, not rock.

That decision might be documented in the environmental coordination in the 1970s.

Large container ships also pass under Ravenell Bridge in Charleston.

Thanks for your weekday Morning Report, JJ.

Decades of conditioning. Fight the patriarchy and girl power and all that. A tiny, seemingly insignificant example? Getting mad when men hold doors for them. Fine, men (society) stops holding doors for you. You go, girl. Girl power, girl boss, etc. You're stronk and independent and don't need no man. Over and over and over.

And now there's a fight that is directed specifically at them, and they're figuring out that men did their best to adhere to their wishes. Men stopped helping.

And men can't help anyway, even though men are STILL the ones standing up and saying "This is wrong and it has to stop." They have to do it themselves, but they refuse. I suspect in part because of the decades of conditioning to reject men's help.

So instead women vanish from women's sports, and it will be men's fault.

97 WTF:
It all started when two children, brothers ages 7 and 12, were seen on camera riding their bikes and stopping on the driveway of a Harris County house. According to local reports that cited neighbors, the 56-year-old woman who lives there had a known history of mental health problems and would often yell random and even aggressive things at passersby.

But while most people’s response to such a thing would be to just keep walking, the boys, who live in the neighborhood, can be seen pausing at the home for a few moments before riding away. They then return a few moments later, with the older child holding something in his hand. He parks his bike, runs into the open garage where the woman was standing, and proceeds to stab her multiple times in the abdomen. The pair then get back on their bikes and flee the scene.

I was thinking of the looky-loo types and how the smooth brained commuters would see the flashy police barricades on the bridge boarding side and slow down to rubber neck preventing a long line of other drivers from getting off the bridge rather than going Dukes of Hazzard towards safety.

It was either the bridge to Captiva or Sanibel Island in Florida that was destroyed by a hurricane. That Governor dragged his feet forever because he is so worthless.

Go to 11:15 to see her handler BTW. The woman couldn't care less about her or her health. Just her location. She'd tracked her there, told the cops she was her friend and was concerned since she'd left a family function, but she doesn't know her "friend's" current address or how long her friend has been in town. Completely comfortable standing down the cops.

So… You MIGHT be able to get a new one slapped up in a year, but there’s A LOT of roadblocks.

1) Cleanup of the harbor.

2) Current condition of the pier that was hit. That will take likely a month to inspect (this is a wild guess)

3) The architectural design. Maybe the city of Baltimore thinks the steel truss that was there is too “industrial chic” and wants something more modern - maybe on the line of a cable stayed bridge using a single central pier.

4) Contractor selection and material procurement.

5) Permitting… yech.

My guess is 3 years, minimum, to get the replacement up.

That is the point. There is a conflict of visions at play. When Biden came out and said that tax payers from around the nation will be debt financing the replacement, given the current set of fiscal idiots at the helm, I expect this bridge to be priced at something that you would see in Dubai.

So do they slap up a quick four laner standard bridge design or work their way down the continuum of possibilities towards an aspirational monument complete with streets of gold and pearly gates and name it after Obama or George Floyd?

From what the Governor said, they are promising an inspirational monument, which means that it will be shopped to international LGBT+ design firms and haggled over for decades on what the final artistic design should look like.

It was called The World of Commander McBragg..The cartoon was a short that sat between episodes of Underdog and Tennesse Tuxedo featuring a bumbling man telling his butler unbelievable lies about how he did things like save a town from a flood by running to the general store and getting a bucket of sponges to throw across the road. The Butler never wanted to hear the stories, but he would tell them anyway. Everybody had at least one or two commander McBraggs in their lives.

Unfortunately, we now have to endure the exaggerations, lies, and sadly demented recollections of a self centered Commander McBiden. Quite.

Two pilots were taken to the hospital Monday night after their Army helicopter crashed on Joint Base Lewis-McChord property in Thurston County Monday night.

The "aviation mishap" involved a U.S. Army AH-64E Apache helicopter assigned to 4-6 ACS, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade during a routine training exercise, JBLM told The News Tribune on Tuesday.

Southeast Thurston Fire Chief Mark King described the terrain as marshy, heavy with brush and difficult to access.

The two pilots survived the crash, he said. One was taken by ground and one was transported by air to Madigan Army Medical Center at JBLM, King said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The two pilots remained hospitalized in stable condition as of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Army was deploying a team from the Combat Readiness Center at Fort Novosel, Alabama, to investigate the incident, a JBLM spokesman said.

++++
Actually, I disagree. It's a vital transport link and a key piece of infrastructure. Its destruction is a regional problem. Discussion about reconstruction cannot be too early. Yes, there is still an active search and rescue operation and that should not be distracted from, but there should also *already* be teams of engineers assessing the parts of the bridge that are still standing and figuring out the best way to get it reconstructed.

I have a much bigger problem with the "let's draft a blank check against our empty Treasury, because we never let a crisis go to waste when it can be converted into a huge opportunity for corruption and theft."

203 The loss of the bridge probably added 2 to 3 hours of extra time to a Hazmat shipment. I'd like to see the actual traffic numbers on the bridge and alternative routes. Should be easy because they are all monitored.

They need to get the harbor channel cleared and this shouldn't take more than a couple months. Just drag the steel out of the channel with cables. There are a lot of divers that work the infrastructure in the Bay. And those tugs could pull anything out of the channel.

If Joe wants to speed things up, let's see how quick things get back to a new routine.

But if they are serious about rebuilding it, it could be accomplished in less than two years, probably 18 Months, give or take.

Clearing the ship channel is more important then rebuilding the bridge. There are alternative ways to get around Baltimore by land.

Well sure, traffic will be heavier but if we were really concerned about issues like that would we be allowing in tens of millions of 'newcomers' every year?

212 Steve Bannon noted Tuesday that the official explanation of what happened “doesn’t make sense.” He asked “how the ship turned directly into that [pylon] and the pilot didn’t drop the anchor? Dropping the anchor might’ve ripped the front of the ship apart, but it wouldn’t have taken out the bridge.”
++++
Or they *did* drop anchor, and the power problems on the ship caused only one anchor to drop (or the other one failed to gain purchase) and it created a pivot point that spun the ship right into the pillar.

I don't know, and neither does Bannon. This would be a long-odds gamble for terrorism - there are a *ton* of variables that have to be precisely correct to pull it off - and so I am much less inclined in that direction versus "catastrophic industrial mishap thanks to bad luck or poor maintenance and crew quality" or other more mundane answer.

Time may tell - nobody can be trusted, which is a difficulty - but immediately leaping to "it was obviously terrorism" isn't reasonable.

Partly this is just low brow socialism. "Housing is a human right!" So ok then I can just take a house/apartment. It is a human right...right?

And partly this is just more FSA thinking. The government gives me a phone, an EBT card, and free healthcare...why doesn't it give me free housing as well?

And finally it is a logical side effect of mass immigration. If you bring in tens of millions of people you need housing for them. And we haven't built that.

255 Oh another part in all this is most Americans don't understand the profit motive or the way competition lowers costs.

So normally in a true capitalist economy with a housing shortage there would be a construction boom. Why? Well as the price of housing goes up this incentivizes developers to build more and people will extra space/units to rent more.

But in our mixed economic system where the government and/or squatters can just seize your property, and where the government restricts access to construction there is much less of an incentive to increase available housing.

Oh...and that housing boom would then in turn lower costs...

Planes are maneuverable.

But all that is beside the point. Right now, I don't buy terrorism. It seems unlikely. This would have been a very difficult scheme with lots of variables, it happened in the middle of the night instead of at rush hour, nobody took credit for it, the ship called in the trouble in advance of the incident, the ship was clearly undergoing problems, etc. Plans that involve signs for free birdseed rarely work out, and if this was a plan, it was that level of complicated.

We may find out over time, but right now my bet is on "poor maintenance," "inexperienced crew" or some combination of the two.

Restrict supply and increase demand and you get price increases.

It isn't as simple as bulldozing down a 100x100 patch and dropping a mobile home on the spot.

People eat, crap and sleep. This requires water, electric and sewage. It also requires greater capacity for supplying food, electric and water. That requires CapEx at high interest rates that someone needs to cover (surely not the invader). All of that takes time to forecast, analyze, acquire property rights, right-of-way, secure financing, permits, materials, skilled labor and at a time of year when the WX complies. Insurance, inspections, down-stream utilities at all levels (larger and more water pumps, tanks, filter, sources; electric grid components and everything upstream from that...

And this is real hard to do when adding the average state's total population to the country every few months.

337 A couple maritime shipping wonks have speculated the anchor being dropped on the port (left) side was an effort to slow/stop the ship. Might have something to do with how the ship would twist around the anchor had it actually not been dragged along.

There's no indication the starboard anchor was dropped.

The AIS track shows a normal departure up until the ship was very near the bridge and lost power. I would imagine there's data that recorded the position of the rudder, the speed, etc. like an aircraft "black box."

But the feds almost immediate declaration that it wasn't a terrorist act smells.

Represents the Emperor at least, Mandate of Heaven more debatably. It was at times used symbolically to indicate a transfer of power.

Theoretically the Seal is the same as seeing the Emperor. Documents marked with the Seal were like hearing the Emperor.

Treating an object(such as a seal or token) as the office wasn't unusual for the Chinese, it applied to other lower ranking roles as well.

Posted by: jeff at March 27, 2024 09:52 AM (ZiwLX)

405 Bannon needs to shut up on this one.

One does not 'drop an anchor' on a ship that size. One *sets* an anchor, and that's a process that probably takes over an hour for a vessel that size to do properly. Merely dropping an anchor(s) while the ship is in motion would most likely result in the anchor doing nothing but skimming along the bottom and never properly catching. And if it did catch, the most likely outcome of the anchor dug in at one end and 150,000 tons of moving steel on the other end is that the anchor rode (chain) will simply part. The front of the ship definitely isn't getting ripped off.

But assuming it just drags, then yeah: think of it as activating the e-brake on a couple wheels of a semi tractor/trailer rig- good for keeping it stationary, but if it's already rolling downhill... good luck.

One final thought: while it's unclear if one or both anchors were deployed, only deploying one might have been a good idea- if the ship was headed straight in, dropping both wouldn't stop it. But only dropping one might pivot the bow away from the pylon.

In a fluke type anchor I believe there is the possibility of it flipping upside down and doing nothing. While if both are deployed and the one on the right/starboard side *is* digging, not stopping, but putting an incessant drag on that side of the ship while it attempts to dig itself in while the one on the left is doing nothing... well it's the only thing which explains the movement in the final minute toward the bridge support. To me.

407 Good morning, all, and thank you, J.J.

Last night, searched for explanations regarding the terrible accident, especially as two pilots, at least one of them experienced in the movement of vessels in the harbor and straight, were onboard when the ship lost power, not once but twice. An almost 7 minute long video entitled, "Ship Lost Power Before Hitting Key Bridge in Baltimore," by What is Going on With Shipping? did cover the Dali losing power outbound. And, of course, now there are other on topic videos available.

Some things do stick in my craw but, first and most importantly, sincere condolences to the families of those who've died as a result of the mishap. Some may not even know their loved ones were involved, in the case of workers who were up on the bridge deck & vehicles traveling over at the time of occurrence. Prayers for the workers who've survived the collapse & were pulled from the river & also their families. Prayers for a guiding hand to help 1st responders, medical teams, and other specialists who are, or shall be, involved.

Another thing I thought about rather quickly was the controversy surrounding the US National Anthem which I

408 Cont'd - first read in a 2004 Smithsonian article, History, Francis Scott Key, the Reluctant Patriot. Controversy bubbled up periodically thereafter and some, such as The Intercept's 2016 piece, 'More Proof the U.S. National Anthem has Always Been Tainted with Racism,' I'll never forget.

And then only hours after the mishap, so many articles appeared about Key and his famous poem, and comments a new bridge built would be renamed, it was distracting and, once again, barbaric imo. People are hurt, dead, missing, in shock from the mishap. Give them their due.

Coincidentally, more transportation signaling issues not far away: PHILADELPHIA (CBS), 03/26/24 - In part, "Signal issues that caused major delays on SEPTA's Regional Rail lines Monday night have since been resolved, the transportation authority said. Regional Rail trains were back on a normal schedule Tuesday morning." ... "After the signal issues started, SEPTA got crews in place to manually control the switches so trains could move. Due to them manually controlling switches, trains moved slower than normal." Transportation communications, signaling issues, caused by old infrastructure, prior heavy rains, or...?

And, lest we forget, The Hill, 'Four systemic safety issues the East Palestine crash report may point to,' By Saul Elbein - 02/24/23 6:00 AM ET

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg echoed these concerns in comments from East Palestine when he singled out the detectors as “something that needs to be looked at to try to prevent things like this from happening again.”

Steaming about an opinion piece in Jerusalem Post yesterday. You must demand Sinwar & other Hamas leaders who planned & executed October 7th be dragged out for justice. Defend or STFU, all imo. Be that as it may be, I stand with Israel, demand the release of all Hamas hostages, and pray for the IDF.

410 Already it is being proposed that the federal government should pay for the new bridge. Was this not a toll bridge operated by MD?

413 bridge could be rebuilt quickly. TREMENDOUS resources in baltimore/DC/VA area including/especially military. There's plenty of out of work ironworkers that would make quick work of removing and reconstructing that bridge. For the costs, They could easily skim a billion off of all the foreign aid and no one would even miss it. bridge will only be rebuilt when xiden/hunter secure their 10% for the big guy/turd.

414 "Del bagno" is Italian for 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮. This surname popped up for one family in the state of New York a short number of decades ago. Who would anglicize their name like that?

415 I hate seeing all the conspiracy stuff come out so quickly. I’ve been a merchant seaman for 35 years and a Master for 14, nothing the vessel did from undocking to blackout was abnormal. The ship veering to starboard after regaining power is indicative of a vessel backing hard ( this is called torquing and is common for ships with a right hand turning prop), and follows with letting go th port anchor and the heavy black smoke coming out of the stack at the same time suggesting a hard astern bell once power was restored. Even if the astern bell was not applied the smoke would suggest attempts to restart the main engine.

And yet, doesn't Maryland run its own oversight programs including Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH)? I believe it does.

420 We had stability and peace in the 1950s mainly because we limited immigration with the 1924 Immigration Act. People assimilated, they got educated and started businesses and joined the military, together. That stability was upended by the Kennedy immigration act in 1965. No nation can survive this many unassimilated people in such a short time, whether they are from Paris or Oaxaca or Ghana.
