The Morning Report — 3/20/24

gunsandbut.jpg

Good morning, kids. Schizophrenia seems to be the order of the day on a number of fronts. Let's begin with our completely non-existent border, where the result of its intentional erasure by the Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants junta have been an abject bloodbath – BLOODBATH!!! – suffered by the American people. Mercifully, the Supreme Court has allowed Texas to resume arresting the invaders at the border, at least until a final decision is reached on their doing the job the Feds refuse to do.

Yet, with millions of unvetted third world foreigners flooding in, many of whom are violent criminals, what does one maniac hack-in-black think ought to be done?

A U.S. District judge appointed by former President Barack Obama dismissed gun charges against an illegal immigrant, stating that he should not “be deprived of his Second Amendment right to bear arms in self-defense.”

U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Coleman of the Northern District of Illinois, who had twice previously denied the illegal immigrant‘s motion to dismiss the case against him, reversed herself in the case against Heriberto Carbajal-Flores, who was found with a handgun in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago in June 2020.

“Carbajal-Flores contends that he received and used the handgun for self-protection and protection of property. Because of Carbajal-Flores’ citizenship status, he was charged in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5), which prohibits any noncitizen who is not legally authorized to be in the United States from ‘possess[ing] in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce,'” Coleman noted.

“The government argues that Carbajal-Flores is a noncitizen who is unlawfully present in this country,” Coleman continued. “The Court notes, however, that Carbajal-Flores has never been convicted of a felony, a violent crime, or a crime involving the use of a weapon. Even in the present case, Carbajal-Flores contends that he received and used the handgun solely for self-protection and protection of property during a time of documented civil unrest in the Spring of 2020.”

Let that sink in for a moment. A border jumping illegal alien, who in a previously sane world, is not protected by nor accorded the same rights as a native born citizen is suddenly granted the right to keep and bear arms? And irony of bitter ironies during the 2020 George Floyd Summer of Love when scores of business districts were looted and burned to the ground, deemed by Democrat mayors, DAs, chiefs of police and other officials as legitimate forms of "mostly peaceful" protest.

One wonders what Kyle Rittenhouse has to say about this, after the living hell he was put through for legally carrying and using a firearm in justified self defense. Meh, what about Daniel Penny, who didn't even use a gun in dispatching a mostly peaceful Michael Jackson impersonator, who at the time was doing an all-too realistic impersonation of a psychotic loon on a NYC subway car who was likely moments away from attacking the other passengers? Penny's crime, of course, is being white while killing a black criminal in self defense. That's right up there with using a Koran as toilet paper in its severity, right?

One also has to wonder if this Obama appointee, who no doubt graduated from the Fani Willis School of Jurisprudence on a full Claudine Gay scholarship, by doing this hasn't completely undermined the never-ending assault on the Second Amendment. I mean, if an illegal alien who no doubt possessed an unregistered firearm is seen to have the right of self defense free and unfettered by any kind of proscription, does that not extend to all 335 million of us? Of course not! Because, reasons!

I mean, look at the SCOTUS decision. Governor Greg Abbott took it upon himself to do the job the Federal government is supposed to do, yet refuses to do. And yet, the Federal government is going to the mattresses to try and stop him from doing the job they are supposed to do in the first place.

Speaking of the border and who and what is coming across . . .

Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, an Iraqi migrant residing in Ohio, plotted to smuggle Islamic State sympathizers into the U.S. with an ambition to assassinate former president George W. Bush. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison following a guilty plea.

Court documents reveal Shihab deemed Bush guilty of mass murder in Iraq. The migrant plotted to smuggle two former Iraqi intelligence agents across the U.S.-Mexican border to carry out the former president’s assassination, not realizing he was dealing with a confidential Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informant. . .

. . . Bush has previously partnered with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, founded by Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg, to push mass migration and amnesty for illegal aliens. . .

. . . There appears to be some reluctance in terms of acknowledging the issue, however, with the U.S. Border Patrol having been known to delete press releases announcing terrorist apprehensions at the frontier.

Hey, maybe the Border Patrol just doesn't want to come across as cocky and boastful. Did you ever think of that, you doubting Thomases?! Now that Junta Hunter's crack smoke has left the lungs, let's get back to reality, or at least semi-schadenfreude considering who the potential target was and his stance on open borders.

That said, the target could just as easily be Donald Trump, a synagogue or church, or dozens of targets hit simultaneously. Just before the election. That is, close enough to be used as an excuse to suspend them because of a "national emergency." At that point, would it even matter if most of the nation, correctly pointed the finger at Biden and company for being at the root cause of the attacks in the first place, since the "temporary" declaration of some sort of martial law would give them the absolute power they want in the first place?

If you think that that's tinfoil hat nuttery, then you've been in a coma the past several years. Nothing that the Kalorama Klown Komintern and the top to bottom corrupt government and bureaucracies have inflicted on us was even conceivable before that time in the first place. And yet, here we are, victimized, persecuted and on the verge of complete collapse into tyrannical dictatorship.

It's why essays like this one come across as Pollyanna bending over like the mythical foo bird and giving herself a colonoscopy as her head disappears up the lower GI tract. I'm not going to give you any pull quotes but it's linked here so you can read it for yourself if you want.

Psaki-psircling back, an illegal alien is allowed to keep and bear arms for self defense. And yet, this . . .

Video shows Adele Andaloro approaching squatters at her $1 million home in Flushing, which she inherited after her parents died, after hiring a locksmith to change the locks back on her property, ABC 7’s Eyewitness News reported. Police took Andaloro into custody soon after they were called by the squatters.

“They’ve called the police on me, and I’ve called the locksmith,” Andaloro said. “I didn’t come in illegally. The door was open.”

Andaloro was in the process of selling her property when squatters first changed her front door and home locks, ABC 7 reported. The homeowner decided to confront the squatters and hire a locksmith after witnessing an unknown woman unlock her home’s door and leave.

Andaloro entered the house accompanied by her daughter and with the property deed in hand, according to ABC 7. She entered her home and found two people inside, footage showed. One man was sleeping in a bedroom. The homeowner told him to “get out of my house.” One man inside the property told the outlet that he “moved in two days ago.”

“You shouldn’t be trying to steal my house,” Andaloro was heard yelling in the video at a man. He was Brian Rodriguez, one of the squatters who claims to be on the lease, according to ABC 7. When pressed by the reporter to provide documentation of his supposed lease, he could not do so, the video showed.

Police told Andaloro she had to untangle the dispute in housing court because the situation was considered a “landlord-tenant issue.” Along with being detained by police, the homeowner said she was forced to initiate an eviction filing in court to resolve the issue. . .

. . . New York City recognizes claims of squatter rights in people who have occupied a property for at least 30 days, according to the outlet.

Well, of course they do because, Democrat Leftists. And of course Letitia James is now itching to seize Trump Tower because Donald Trump cannot, or is being prevented from defending himself from cruel and unusual punishment based on the utterly fabricated charges by James and her ilk.

I guess we now know how these blue shit-holes will house all the illegal aliens it blames Trump and the Republicans on: seize commercial properties emptied out thanks to the lockdown mania that spawned the probably irreversible work-from-home trend, or just force people to put them up in their homes.

Hello, third and fourth amendments? I can only imagine what that Obama judge must think about that.

  • David Solway: "As Jeffrey Tucker points out, 'this [fake] president is plunging us straight into lawlessness and dictatorship,' his dimwitted and narcoleptic condition notwithstanding. But enough of the dictatorial machine is already in place to plausibly guarantee a resounding triumph, since most of the votes will be Monopoly votes, no doubt deposited under cover of darkness as in 2020. Can such an outcome be avoided? Not likely, unless conservatives finally come to realize that a rosy outlook will often hide a devastating sequel, no matter what the polls say, no matter how attractive the historical probability under similar conditions, no matter how tempted they may be by simulacra and glowing reports of overwhelming advantage."

20 Nice election results in OH - Moreno won and Merrin won (Trump gets props for the former, Johnson for the latter b/c he put in the $750K Merrin needed to be competitive, plus his endorsement before Trump's last minute one). So, there's hope for 2 more non-Uniparty folks to head to DC if OH can stay its deep red this fall. It's gonna take a lot to get them (especially Moreno) elected, but it took a lot to get Vance elected, too...so in OH, it's very possible...

More to the point, Texas is attempting to enforce federal law. The fact that the Biden "administration", as so many before it, chooses to ignore that law does not remove that law from the books.

If the "administration", by choosing to ignore the law, makes it as if it did not exist... if the "administration", by signing an executive order, or releasing yet another in a long line of "regulations", can effectively make law where none exists... then we have a king.

I actually 100% agree. I would point out to liberals if they didn't want illegals to have guns, they should arrest them for the continuing crime they have been committing - being here illegally - and deport them.

And then we should get rid of the gun laws they have "violated" in full. B/c of equal protection under the 14th.

Win-win for us. Let's do what they don't expect us to do...that doesn't end up killing us later, but actually raises us up to be in a better place...

>>I live in the South Bronx by choice. I didn't vote for "that clown show" anymore than you voted for our National Clown Show.

I was born and raised in The Bronx, lived in NYC until a little over 15 years ago, the dirty secret is that very few people vote, some city council races are decided by less than 5pct of the people in the district voting.

I've told this story before, I was working a job near Hudson Yards, amongst the row of loading docks, at the far end, was a NYC Board of elections loading dock, the gate would go up, trucks would roll in gates were closed, nothing would come out of that dock, on the rare occasion the loading dock door was left open, you could see voting machines rolling off the trucks, on the dock, you could see boxes of what looked like ballots and other material, etc.

There was no board of election offices in that building.

So what was happening on that dock? Who knows but I surmise it can't be anything legitimate or good.

Sadly, the Left also destroyed morality and ethics so even tort law alone which could fix most problems - along with just being ethical people - is ineffective.

It will fall regardless of massive growth or not. Essentially, the US has wittingly or not removed the reach of its currency domain from about half the globe. The De-dollarization of the international trading regime means essentially a loss of reserve currency status. With that impending loss, whatever puny benefits, if any, from a lot more hungry mouths to feed benefits, will result in skyrocketing inflation in key goods like food and shelter.

The Biden regime is making things worse by making energy expensive and scarce too and crushing US domestic industries of manufacturing, mining, and agriculture by regulations aimed at making Americans poorer.

But, a majority of the public is awakening which is making the puppet masters of the left horrified; no one really likes Joe and the Junta minions, official lies are being shown as such in a shorter and shorter cycle, a large majority wants the border closed, and only the college credentialled crowd, believes the great Climate Hoax lies.

It's a good bet most politicians are not acting in their constituent's best interests. They are however acting on legislation that nets them money and power.

Occasionally the politician's and constituent's interests align.

135 In deep red Florida a bill was recently filed to stop home squatting because again the same thing has been happening for years. I bet it's the law in a lot more places than we know about.

I won't be surprised if New Yorkers start demanding this law get changed as well. I bet that woman in Queens is not America First and even she is not real happy about having her home stolen.

The squatting laws are from the idea that landlords should not chuck people out in the cold and NY has some of the most lenient laws to squatters as a result.

These laws, however, have been extended to individuals who own individual homes, not apartment buildings and lack the institutional expertise to deal with the thieves---once again, the state and local governments side with the thieves instead of the property owner same as decriminalizing shoplifting, etc.

Florida has already passed into law an expedited squatter removal law that will likely make the criminals move on to a state near you. Georgia metro area is suffering from a massive increase in squatting.

148 >>Nobody "votes" for any particular legislation. They "vote" for someone to act in their own best interests... whatever they may be.

This is one reason I like living in small town America where town hall meetings still exist. We actually do vote on a bunch of stuff and have significant input on a lot of other things.

Elvis became the face of the anti leash law in some of our public parks when a reporter put his picture on the cover of the local paper over an article about should dogs be allowed to be off leash in open park spaces at certain times of the day/year. It sparks a town meeting to gauge popular opinion and the overwhelming public sentiment was yes.

The law was then passed unanimously by the town council.

So Milton Friedman's admonition still is worthy to think about in this tired old world---incentives matter and bad people can be incentivized to do right in government positions even if they prefer to do otherwise. That means using man's inbuilt desires to avoid pain and obtain pleasure.

Know a guy that moved into an HOA in a neighborhood in Columbus. He couldn't build a privacy fence in his back yard. It MUST be a chain link fence with a max height of 4 feet. He went to Home Depot and bought a storage shed and had it installed. The HOA came down on him hard and told him he didn't have prior approval for the structure, it wasn't an approved color and he needed to tear it down.

He tore it down, applied for permission to re-install it and paint it an approved color. They taught him a lesson and denied his request.

It is the end result of magical ideological thinking of credentialed creeps from the Ivy League and their wannabe acolytes. Most modern thinking only addresses what is viewed as needed to be done; they never focus upon possible drawbacks to any theoretical policy. This is because most policy debate for the left has become a legalistic one where you rely on a narrative even if that narrative is a lie. The left talks in rhetoric; the right answers in dialectic which is one of the reason that the right is repeatedly punked in public debate. The right falsely assumes good faith in the left which does not in fact exist--rhetoric is to be used to gain power--not to solve a problem.

Those in power in government overtime drift gradually from grace even if they intended all those good things in the beginning. Few, if any, think of a legacy beyond that of perhaps a family.

230 It is the end result of magical ideological thinking of credentialed creeps from the Ivy League and their wannabe acolytes.

So, with every home having a two car garage, and a driveway for at least two other vehicles....no parking on the street. Exceptions for family gathering holidays, and contractor vehicles during working hours.IOW, don't make parking on the street a lifestyle for your home.

As we have these huge roll along trash receptacles, trash cans must be kept out of sight on the side or rear of home, except for trash days.

Well, it isn't racial, but to a point, she (I'm assuming "she") is right. Marriage and family systems are patriarchal, and they are across cultures. It turns out that - get this, and hold on to your hats - it works. It works everywhere. Cultures without marriage and family - that is, without the fundamental micro structure of patriarchy - collapse or never develop highly in the first place. Men have to be invested in the system, and that means there needs to be some way to establish and maintain paternity in a way that isn't a punishment, but a motivation. Monogamous marriage does that and nothing else yet discovered can. Does this restrict women? Yes, it does. It also turns out better for them on balance, but that is beside the point.

But I also don't know why this is coming up. That structure of "heteropatriarchal supremacy" has been shattered. It's gone. Destroyed. Dew in the morn.

As we have these huge roll along trash receptacles, trash cans must be kept out of sight on the side or rear of home, except for trash days.

I told him "pal, if you can calm her down, I'll give you a damn hug".

Actual devices do not need to even be present, and with easily available technology, a wave of calls that are hard to trace would ramp up the panic. Posted by: Lizzy
========
Both are considered suspect. The old mainline Protestants detested the Catholic Church primarily for social class reasons. These types are now the nominal Christians such as Episcopalians, etc. but are typical of the old Ivy League-Wall Street types. Evangelicals are viewed as simply beyond the Pale and equated with ignorant and emotional peasants.

Even in the military forces, evangelical Christians rarely advance much as chaplains in rank unless they eschew the tenets of their faith.

That prejudice probably stems from the religious wars in the 1500's where Anabaptists split into city and country branches. The City branches were wiped out as proto-Commies--the country branches survived but only by being useful as farmers--leading to today's Mennonites and Amish at one extreme but being at the bottom of the scale in places elsewhere.

HOAs are proof that the smaller the reach of a government, the more it affects your life.

40 years ago I was able to keep my neighborhood from starting an HOA, by pointing out that it was really a scheme to allow the people forming the HOA to steal people's houses from them. The proof of that statement was when I said "Ask them if they are interested in forming an HOA without the power to foreclose." Heh. I once lived in a place that wanted to run an insane fiber-to-the-home scheme, paid for (badly, and on too long a timeframe, but that's beside the point) with a new levy that was "not a property tax."

At the public meeting, I challenged that. I said, "okay, so it's not technically a tax. Let me ask this, then. What happens if I don't pay it? What is the enforcement mechanism? Will the county eventually seize the house for non-payment, like they will for tax arrears?" Continued pressing during the too-many-words response settled it. It was a damn tax, and they all knew it. They weren't happy to have to acknowledge that, though.

Apparently that's a cartel strategy - set up shop in small communities where no one expects them to be, and local law enforcement does not have the ability to stop.

A Mexican super cartel brought its deadly drugs and violence to the tranquil and remote waterfront community of Port Orchard, a 90-minute ferry ride west of Seattle.

Here, the Kitsap Peninsula, billed as “the natural side of Puget Sound.” attracts hikers, bikers, golfers and boaters — and members of a top U.S. target, the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación.

The cartel, known as CJNG, set up a meth conversion lab here years ago as part of a Western Washington drug cell that pummeled the region with millions of dollars worth of heroin, meth, cocaine and fentanyl-laced pills. . .

413 The more likely scenario is that they cut food off to the cities that they have now packed full of Illegal immigrants.

Then they will push the starving illegals out into the countryside where they will get shot.

They will use the reactions of law abiding citizens protecting themselves to declare martial law.

414 Okay, I'm really confused on these rulings from the SCOTUS and the 5th Circuit.

I mean, WHO GIVES A SHIT what the 5th Circuit is now saying since SCOTUS has already ruled 6-3 on this issue and says that the Texas law can go into effect? What am I missing here? I thought that SCOTUS got the final say. If so, how can these lower courts keep making these kinds of moves without severe backlash from SCOTUS?
And people wonder why laws don't get enforced anymore! How do these courts get away with playing games on a decided case from the nation's highest court?
Seriously, WTF?!?!?
