Biden: I Can Remember In College A Math Professor Put Up an Equation He Said Was Unsolvable and I Solved It While On Break from My Job as a Janitor

Aksually Biden didn't claim to have solved an unsolvable problem. Rather, he claimed that in law school, for some reason he decided to answer a question about a case he didn't bother reading (sounds about right, he's a blowhard who is never restrained by his own ignorance) and babbled for 10 minutes about it.And then he claims -- he really claims this -- he got a standing ovation. This article is worth reading in full. Biden constantly drifts away from the actual questions being asked and mumbles nonsensical anecdotes. He even kinda-sorta hints he might be willing to pimp his wife to Hur if he just goes easy on him. (Biden says that he hopes Hur didn't find any of Jill Biden's sexy-ass bikinis when he was searching through the garage. Oooh baby.) But I can't quote it all. So I'll stick to Biden claiming to be a Legal Beautiful Mind. And to also being a champion archer on his very first shot.
Special Counsel Robert Hur stood by his assessment that President Joe Biden was a "well-meaning, elderly man" whose failing memory would have made it untenable to pursue prosecution of his willful retention of classified records during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. Transcripts of Hur's interviews with Biden released Tuesday and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon support Hur's assessment that there are "significant limitations" surrounding Biden's memory. Throughout the five hours of interviews on Oct. 8 and 9, Biden struggled to recall relevant details about his handling of classified records or when he served as vice president. The transcript also confirms Biden could not recall when his son, Beau, died, and further shows that the president raised that subject unprompted--contradicting the president's claim during a Feb. 8 press conference that Hur raised the subject. But the transcripts also reveal that Biden went off on a number of tangents during his interviews with special counsel Robert Hur, including anecdotes about what sound a car makes, a "risqué" bathing suit his 72-year-old wife wears, and a horrific industrial accident where a young man's genitalia was burned off. Biden didn't stop there.... During this tangent, Biden revealed a remarkable feat: He hit a target hundreds of yards away with a bow and arrow during a visit to Mongolia in August 2011. "I'm not a bad archer," Biden said, after referring to Mongolian archers as "gorillas." "But ... I hit the goddamn target."Biden is slowly dying and he's flashing back to moments of his life, except they're not moments from his life. They're scenes from movies and Kim Jung-Il press releases.
... Later, as Hur attempted to steer the conversation back to how classified documents made their way from Biden's West Wing office to his personal residences, Biden again veered into an unrelated story about how he "didn't take law school very seriously"...No shit.
...but had a knack for unpacking tort cases on the fly. "We had a really difficult professor," Biden recalled. "He called on me to--you know how they do in law school, discuss a case, you know, in your first torts class. And I had never read the case, and I stood up and I spoke for 10 minutes. The whole class stood up, started clapping." Biden, who once falsely claimed he graduated at the top of his class from Syracuse Law School, failed a class after plagiarizing from a law review article about torts. That plagiarism scandal contributed to his failed presidential bid in 1987.

And this is my problem with Hur and his report. How does Hur determine that Biden is "well-meaning"? Also, why was this a part of his report/determination not to recommend for prosecution? He knowingly, and willfully retained classified documents that he legally did not have the right to have. Whether he is well-meaning or is the most evil SOB on the planet should have no bearing on the outcome of facts. What am I getting wrong here?

The next day the professor asked if anyone had the solution to that particular problem so I raised my hand and she called me up to do it on the blackboard. I think she was expecting me to have a board full of work, because after writing out the solution she looked at me "WTH?!" as if I had solved world hunger. She asked me how I got the answer and I told her the entire answer came to me in a flash.
I didn't get any standing ovation but all the girls in class started hitting on me in the next few days and they couldn't wait to take me back to their apartments for sex.

I have the opposite problem. One of my cars is about to run out of my extended warranty. I keep asking my mechanic to find some shit to fix before it does. Problem is there’s nothing wrong with it.
I know extended warranties are generally a bad idea. But this is a car that is crazy expensive to fix anything. New transmission is $20k for example.
So I gambled with the warranty. And damn it turned out to be the most reliable car ever, lol.

He deserves to be mocked, but I do agree there's a dance Trump will have to do where it doesn't come off like you're attacking someone's sad grandpa.
Trump rolled into those debates thinking he could simply expose the guy as senile and support would flood his way.
The biggest problem is they are able to jack the guy up with something when everyone's watching that gives a passable performance.
If I were Trump, I would build at least part of the campaign just asking the question "who's really in charge" because we know its not Biden.

I personally have a tremendous amount of sympathy for what a normal family would be going through in a situation like this.
I am grateful to Jill, Bo, Hundo, and Cousin Jeff for letting us watch Joe slip into the water, though. It's been one tiny little bit of comedy in a period where I recognize that the U.S. as I knew it - and everything I was ever taught in regards to her over the course of my lifetime - was either a lie or is dead.

I've been to Mongolia and watched their version of the Olympics. Couple days of horse races (by 6 year olds, the grownups race alongside except the grownups are drunk), weird mongoian wrestling, and their brand of archery.
The archery target is not what we think of--a circular target on a stand. Mongolian archery targets are kind of a long block thing that lays on the ground. The center maybe one foot of it is painted and that's the bullseye. I think. I don't speak Mongolian. They LOB their arrows at this thing, from maybe 30 yards away iirc. The judges stand right behind the targets IN THE LINE OF FIRE, but think more about the judges for a javelin toss than for an archery competition.

It's unlikely in the extreme that anyone unfamiliar with this type of archery would come anywhere close to the target. It's more like trying to lob an arrow through a basketball hoop. You have to get angle, force, distance--you're dropping the arrow at a very specific small target on the ground.
Biden didn't even watch their archery. They're not gorillas--it's not a huge heavy bow or something. And they aren't all that far away.

When I find a reading that doesn't make sense, I look at the ambiguous parts of the statement to see if I can widen that term so that it makes sense.
It's easy to dismiss things as nonsense if you don't readily understand it, but the discipline of reading critically is to put some work in to make the best argument out of somebody's misstatement that you can.

All laws people don't like are declared "authoritarian". Strictly, all vote-based legislation is republican. Laws that are judicial rulings are kritarchy.
It's also worth noting a dictator is merely a monarch(no heredity part implied) with relatively few restrictions on his power. It's not a synonym for tyranny but is reasonably feared as an avenue for such.

Well that's great for you, but that doesn't change that both monarchies and republics can be tyrannical or just. A republic just means voting as opposed to fighting things out to determine laws (or judicial rulings in a kritarchy). All societies decide on rules to live by, that's what laws are. Without boundaries, there is no meaningful concept of say, "theft". What undergirds what people think is acceptable law is morality.

I think the chief difference is that Pubs get behind their guy as soon as the decision is made, however Dems should still salute their guy when "he or she actually solves an issue or tackles an issue" even though he or she "DOESN'T do it the way WE thought he or she should."
So, I see the "we" as being broader, like "everybody".
What he's saying is that there is too much freedom for disharmony among progs and simple conformity on the right.
However, he should think through whether or not he wants to accept all the NeverTrumpers--or even libertarians as full progressives, or otherwise, it is evident that what defines someone more conservative is not simple conformity with a leader.
Otherwise, NeverTrumpers are either not Republicans or they display the wide disagreement that some people on the conservative side are capable of.
