In the past few months the struggles of G/O [which bought the basketcase blogs of the bankrupt Gawker media] have been well publicized, from their being forced to shutter (and later sell the rights to) Jezebel to facing down a lawsuit from the family of a Kansas City Chiefs Fan who was smeared as 'racist' for wearing what they called 'blackface' to a game by Deadspin.
Well, apparently Deadspin has proved to be more trouble than it's worth to the suits at G/O...

Unrelated: There's a conspiracy theory going 'round about Kate Middleton.

Apparently she has not been seen in public for two months, after being hospitalized for ten days. Media and royal obsessives keep asking where she is.

Kate Middleton release a picture to appease them. The picture supposedly shows her posing with her children.

People began questioning whether the picture was real, claiming there were telltale signs of bad editing in Photoshop.

Three media companies pulled the picture, stating that they could not verify that the picture was real.

Later, Kate Middleton took the rap herself, saying she'd merely edited it a little.

But this guy is claiming that the picture of Kate was lifted entirely from a Vogue cover and then inserted in the picture:

I don't know about that. She has a hat on in one photo. Wouldn't you just grab a picture you don't have to further alter?

I think people just tend to look the same when they make the exact same face, like a smile for a photograph.

Then she was finally photographed in a car with her husband... but with her head turned away from the camera, so you couldn't actually see her face.

I don't know what any of this means but the few Meghan Markle fans are celebrating, claiming that Kate is on her way out and, somehow, Meghan Markle will wind up being the princess. I don't know how that works. Maybe they think Will is going to renounce his birthright or something.

She probably gets to stay longer than most. She is very, very thin naturally. If she had a stomach issue, she would look down right skeletal. I would think she would want to avoid pictures in that case to not have to deal with speculation on eating disorders, etc.

But if William alone were to die before ascending to the throne, it goes to his oldest child. If the oldest child is dead, it goes to the oldest child's oldest child (if that person exists), otherwise to the second-oldest child IIRC. Dead people in the line are still there for lineage and succession purposes. If Charles had died before taking the throne, it still would have been William, not one of Charles' siblings.

It used to be one of my favorite movies as a kid. Sad parts to be sure.

But I strongly suspect at least one copy of each Milo and Otis died during production. The waterfall scene in particular makes grown-up me raise an eyebrow and how they could do it otherwise.

I did not know that. I saw the film 30 years ago or so. Back when you had to see it in a theater because there was no streaming and the old films had not made it to VHS. I remember seeing it and thinking -- Holy cow, what a lost gem, why bother with new movies when stuff like this is hidden in the vaults.

Two options I've seen.

One, Blood is thicker than water for royals. So even if she's behaved perfect her whole life, done all the charity gigs without complaint, and produced three adorable heirs, she's still a mud blood commoner. The Firm can throw her under the bus if push comes to shove.

Two, if there's a scandal or a need to make Charles and Camilla look better, they will have the press run a story about William and Kate doing something not kosher. It's been happening for a while. Yes, that is a great film. One of my favorites as well. I think Guiness was such a great actor, and I am interested in the fact that he converted to RC. He talks about that was well as famous actors he worked with and his wartime experiences in, "Blessings in Disguise."

I remember a series of stories about "Galactic Consumer Reports" reviewing Inexpensive Time Machines or Automatic Twin-Tube Wishing Machines. One of the tubes in the later was the moderator that kept you from making immoral or dangerous things. The people literally shaking that Barbie was robbed don't get that has been the Oscar game for a while. Popular films get shafted for a random obscure artsy film five people saw. The losers have to go home and cry into their massive vault of money they made.

Oriental is just a Britishism, they have quite different Asians closer to them - Turks, Indians, SE Asia so they got the simpler tags. We are closest to China/Japan so Asian means them in general.
