Ashleigh Merchant Testifies Before Georgia Senate;
Jesse Jackson Stooge Enters Race Against Previously-Unopposed Judge McAfee to Pressure Him to Acquit Fani and Sweetdick

Before getting to that, Jonathan Turley writes that Fani and Sweetdick appear guilty of the same crimes of perjury and obstruction they're prosecuting the Trump defendants for.

And now including witness tampering.

When Fani Willis ran against her former boss Paul Howard in 2020, she highlighted the experience that she would bring to the position.

Howard was embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal involving his relationship with women in his office.

Willis offered both experience and ethical leadership, including pledging repeatedly that "I will certainly not be choosing to date people that work under me."

Willis is now accused of the wrong type of relevant experience.

She and her lead prosecutor are not just accused of having an intimate relationship, but they are accused of some of the same underlying conduct that they are prosecuting in the election interference case against former President Donald Trump and other defendants.

That now includes allegations of filing false statements with courts and even influencing witnesses.

This week, another witness came forward with an explosive new allegation against Willis.

In the prior hearings in Atlanta, Nathan Wade was confronted with what appears to be false statements made to the court in his divorce case, false statements that he repeated under oath in disqualification testimony.
'

For example, Wade was asked about his denial of "a sexual relationship during the time of his marriage and separation" up to and including May 30, 2023.

That would obviously include the sexual relationship with Willis in 2022 and possibly earlier. Wade, however, denied any such sexual relationship and said he confined the question to sexual relations meaning an affair "in the course of my marriage."

Of course, his marriage was ongoing even during the divorce and the question asked about any relationship up to May 2023.

Wade and Willis have also been contradicted in their testimony by various witnesses who said they lied about their intimate relationship starting after he was hired in 2022.

That includes prior text messages in which Wade's former partner and lawyer Terrence Bradley repeatedly told opposing counsel that he was "absolutely" sure that the relationship began much earlier.

A former close friend of Willis also said they were lying.

This is notable because Wade and Willis brought 19 individual counts of false statements, false filings, or perjury against the defendants in their case.

There are now substantial allegations that they may have committed the very same criminal conduct.

Now another prosecutor has come forward to say that Bradley also told her repeatedly and with complete clarity and certainty that Wade and Willis were involved long before his hiring.

Those conversations allegedly occurred as late as January 2024 with Cindi Lee Yeager, a co-chief deputy district attorney for Cobb County.

What is even more alarming is Yeager's account that she overheard Willis tell Bradley on the telephone that "they are coming after us. You don't need to talk to them about anything about us."

If true, that call could raise questions of influencing potential witnesses.

That doesn't mean she'll be disqualified.

In fact -- if this tip is true -- she probably won't be:

According to Paul Sperry, a lawyer close to Judge McAfee says he's "very reluctant" to disqualify these serial perjurers and witness tampering obstructers of justice.

@paulsperry_

DEVELOPING: An Atlanta lawyer familiar w/ Judge McAfee's thinking says he's reluctant to disqualify D.A. Fani Willis b/c he's worried ruling would "spill over" to every other indictment she's signed

(Note: McAfee previously worked for Willis and contributed $350 to her campaign)

And suddenly a Jesse Jackson disciple is running against him:

Phil Holloway ✈️
@PhilHollowayEsq

Judge in Fulton Trump case draws opposition

"He is the former executive director of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the social justice and civil rights group founded by Rev. Jesse Jackson"

The #FaniWillis saga just became extra-political

Megyn Kelly
@megynkelly

Terrible news for Team Trump in Atlanta. Judge McAfee was running unopposed. Now you get a Jesse Jackson disciple challenging him in a district that went 73% for Biden. McAfee is going to need a rock solid spine to DQ Fani Willis now.

Yeah, well, per Paul Sperry, he was already going to cover up her crimes.

More election interference. Although this time, it's electioneering to affect a court case, so that the court case to interfere with the 2024 presidential election can go forward.

Update: That boy is our last hope.

No... there is another.

BREAKING A Georgia House commission with powers to discipline & remove prosecutors voted 97-73 for Senate Bill 332 which could disrupt Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' prosecution of Pres. Trump.

The bill only needs approval from @GovKemp, who has said he will sign the measure. (AP)

Via I'm Gumby, Damn It!

Here are some of the things Ashleigh Merchant testified to:

Terrence Bradley did not just text her; they had full spoken conversations about the affair and when it began. I assume Ashleigh Merchant couldn't present her knowledge of what Bradley said in court because it would be hearsay -- she would be saying what he told her about the relationship. She could only present his own statements, in the form of texts, as evidence.

But the Senate hearing isn't a courtroom, so she gave the full report of everything Bradley told her, including which other witnesses to ask about the affair (including Robin Yeartie, though he only knew her as "Fani's best friend" and Merchant had to search to find out who this person was), the keycards Sweetdick was given to make it more convenient to service her filthy needs, etc.

At the end of this clip, she reveals that Fani Willis fought tooth and nail to get the county approve payment for a social media monitoring service which would tell her what her media clout was, whether it was rising or falling, etc. This was to "manage her brand."

Here, Merchant testifies that the only two counties she knows of who hire outside counsel to prosecute their cases pay between $40 and $60 per hour.

Sweetdick was getting $250 per hour. And he was getting paid for a lot of hours. One day, Merchant reports, he billed 24 hours in one day. Apparently Sweetdick claimed that he reported all the hours he'd worked, over several days, in one day.

Why not believe him? He's done nothing but lie to us so far. The law of large numbers says he must tell the truth, eventually!

Merhant notes that Fani's first story about where all this cash was coming from was... to admit that she illegally stole campaign funds for personal use.

Then came the story about her Black Panther Daddy telling her she should just always have fat stacks of cash lying around the house.

Fani met with Kamala Harris.

Gee, wonder what they were talking about.

Probably the weather. That's what the Biden flacks always claim.

114 'Lawyer says Fani Willis met with Kamala Harris months before she indicted Trump'

Lawyer Here. This is much to do about nothing. First it was her relationship with a subordinate and now it's that she met with the VP? Which one is it? Just throwing everything out there in hopes something sticks.

didn't Ms. Willis claim she had never ben to the Whitehouse? Aren't they going by Whitehouse records to show she met with VP Harris? If she lied on the stand about never going to the Whitehouse, that's really bad, if she didn't, this is all irrelevant.

What side has consistently lied? IMO team trump is at his toddler phase. Throwing ketchup against the walls to see what sticks. They are also claiming that Willis asked Bradley not to testify. Now this. Seems fishy to me. They know they are going to lose, so destroy the prosecutor for being to uppity.

That she met w/ VP is not important unless she discussed the charges/case against Trump and the rest of the co-conspirators. If the Trump's little helper can't prove that happened, then ...?

No you can't do that. You can't bill a total of 10 hours for only 5 hours of actual work. You must bill each client for whatever time you devote to that matter, and no more. In that rare circumstance you are working on something -- a discrete legal issue, for example -- that benefits two clients, then you split the billing.

Nothing in the required disclosure allows "but not gifts you reimburse for."

I also liked the Dem on the committee trying to act like those two's five trips of over $15k was no different than the average family of four's single yearly vacation of $3700.

Hmmm.

A part of me assumes that the Party has decided to scuttle Fani to end this farce, but doesn't want to do it judicially because the courts are the primary preferred battleground that the Party uses all the time. Letting the legislature - or encouraging the legislature with some behind-the-scenes deals - take this problem off their hands for them while leaving the courts and prosecutor complex unsullied is a win/win. Their domain remains completely intact, there is no reduction of power or influence, and the legislature takes the flak in the media and from the Left's public activists. The Party comes out smelling like roses and it's too bad that those dastardly Rethuglican MAGAts hate democracy so much.

165 A part of me assumes that the Party has decided to scuttle Fani to end this farce, but doesn't want to do it judicially because the courts are the primary preferred battleground that the Party uses all the time.

Why not believe him? He's done nothing but lie to us so far. The law of large numbers says he must tell the truth, eventually!

246 One thing that came out was Wade was initially having the $15k month contract cap amount deposited in the partnership trust account.

Then, he started having it into his own, separate trust account.
Hiding the $35k a month from his partner.
Then having that partner file into the divorce that Wade was only making $2-3k a month.

Not only making him lie to the court but also cheating him out of his partnership share!

That is why the partnership dissolved, why he spilled the beans so eagerly to Merchant.

307 The HQ really is a fantastic throwback to the days of internet freedom.

As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. --Pravin lal
