This is Clementine being upset with Winston about a toy. She wandered up last February and has made life interesting. We have a new loveseat and a new floor plus no rugs thanks to her. Luckily she is the sweetest dog on the Earth and very cute. Her favorite activity is yelling. She yells when she hits a scent trail, when Winston won't play, when he will, for treats, for pets, in fact for everything good and bad. Winston was on the pet thread about four years ago. Just call me a lurker and thanks for the pet thread.Aaawwwww . . . She just wants the toy! Did I get the right Winston? This was about 4 years ago . . Here is Buckley at 19 weeks. He's around 32lbs and has clearly outgrown the cat bed he took over. He LOVES squeaky toys. He is not gun shy since he's at the range twice a week. His best friend is a Blue Heeler named Ruger. from lin-duhBuckley is absolutely charming. Looks like he would get along real well with a Blue Heeler. Next is Spooky, aka "Asshole", aka ….. well he's just a moron. Every day I try to be the dumbest one in the house but he beats me every time!! And here we have Peanut, who literally snores…..
Snoring and purring cats. Relaxing. Thank you for sharing your pets with us today. Afternoon, folken! The beasts are great as always. I couldn't hear Peanut's snore even with the volume up on the video and on my computer, but I could hear Tank's purr.
Johnny the black cat didn't really respond to that name, but to "Bonehead." Something tells me his human uses that more often than "Johnny" to refer to him. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 09, 2024 03:49 PM (omVj0) 7
Lucy the Fink has become more affectionate lately. She even lets me *gasp* pet her belly occasionally.

Listening to a cat (or dog--I don't judge) snore is one of the great joys in life.
Of all my cats, Penny is perhaps the loudest snorer. Sometimes she'll make strange noises while she sleeps, indicating she's dreaming. Posted by: "Perfessor" Squirrel at March 09, 2024 03:52 PM (BpYfr) 10
So...a.question for the pet'rons.
Will my dog, 15 year old Joe, a terrier mix, who is about 20 inches long, 10 inches at the shoulder, and about 16 lbs be OK in a carry-on pet holder on a four hour airline flight? He's done it once before about 9 years ago on a five hour flight. He did ok but the last hour was bugging him. Thoughts? Posted by: Diogenes at March 09, 2024 03:52 PM (W/lyH) 11
When I woke from my map just now, big Stirling was on the bed as he often is, on my left side. He poked one paw at my left arm, and I thought that was a hint. So I rolled my pajama sleeve up. Darned if he didn't settle into milk-treading my arm with his paws, just as he did when he was younger. He insists on bare skin to do it; he won't if I'm wearing a sleeve. He worked me for two or three minutes. Flattering.
By the way, Monday is his (unofficial) birthday, the day we settled on as three months back from his adoption date of June 11. He'll be two years old. His adopted sister, Dagny Sophia the Silent Siberian, will hit two years late this month. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 09, 2024 03:54 PM (omVj0) 12

Little Oreo the part-Persian longhaired tuxedo cat used to snore sometimes when she slept. Tuna Fish, the similarly-colored tuxedo shorthair I lived with in the ''70s, only snored once that I can recall. Mrs. Wolfus No.1 liked to drink what she called a White Russian, pretty much milk and vodka. One night she had set the glass on the floor as we watched TV. Suddenly we heard lapping: Tuna was drinking what he thought was milk from the glass.
We snatched it away, but too late. He clambered up onto the couch with some help from us, curled up, fell into a deep sleep, and snored. After he woke up, he never had any interest in touching the stuff again. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 09, 2024 04:01 PM (omVj0) 21
Cats throughout history have been given too much leeway to be slackers.
God Almighty has charged me with the purpose of giving every layabout cat I see a good slap upside his head. I figure only 25% want to fight after the initial slap and the rest just curse under their breath. Posted by: Dr. Bone at March 09, 2024 04:05 PM (EEgXH) 22

Mr. Trouble had settled into stopping by every two days, grabbing a bite and a nap in the box before heading off for important things. We had a cold snap and suddenly being inside sounded pretty good. He slept in last night but it's warming up again. I would like to take him in to neuter and get a rabies shot but I don't know when he'll stop by.

Cats in isolation did not purr. Of course some kinds of communication can have health benefits. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 09, 2024 04:21 PM (omVj0) 30

Hi, fellow cat-tenders. Any tips for introducing a second cat? I love my present little guy, but there are just the two of us, and sometimes I think he doesn't get enough chances to be a cat. If he needs a buddy to zoom with and wrestle. He's very shy and even has trouble being held, after five years! But he likes lying where he can touch me. Any tips on introducing a second cat?
Will have to be an indoors cat. Two coyotes over the hill the size of German shepherds, plus a fox and lots of hawks. Posted by: Wenda at March 09, 2024 04:29 PM (G1K9S) 34

Will have to be an indoors cat. Two coyotes over the hill the size of German shepherds, plus a fox and lots of hawks. Posted by: Wenda at March 09, 2024 *** I've been fortunate. The late Arizona did not like, but didn't offer to harm, the two cats I brought at different times to live with us. Chekov and Wolf made friends right away and in an hour were sitting in the window together watching birds. The same with introducing Dagny to Stirling (though he was still very male and thought she was way too enticing, so I had to separate them until he was snipped). The usual advice is to allow them separate spaces and litter boxes, and not to leave them alone together until you're sure they get along. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 09, 2024 04:34 PM (omVj0) 38
Wenda-- I would try to find a mild-tempered half grown kitten who will accept your kitty's dominance and not tease him. Introduce them gradually from separate rooms; lots of info about that online. Good luck!

_____________________ Wolfus, I just elected to use their free tools. There are a LOT of FX that can be created with just those if y' use the right prompts. I'm way too cheap to front money to these people for something I don't trust and really don't want to use - but if y' stand on the edge of Technology River and never jump in, you'll just be that much farther behind and downstream when you make the plunge. Give the free part a try - I think you'll like the result. Just be REAL sure about what you tell it you want the result to be before committing. Yeah, you can do it again, but I think the site limits 'free' to 20 pix. Let us know how you make out with it. Posted by: Dr_No at March 09, 2024 05:14 PM (ayRl+) 43
