The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Harry Wants to Return Home

As you all know, I'm a devoted Royal Watcher and am an Expert about the Royals, as well as about Disinformation.

Presumably this nasty couple's easy-money media deals are drying up. So these non-working drains on society are looking for another easy-money gig, which is to say, Harry's old easy-money gig of just being a Kept Prince.

So now this shiftless layabout is begging to return to the UK.

Prince Harry is said to be "very keen" on the idea of returning to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, according to a report.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, is believed to be planning a way back into the royal fold, but it seems as though the Duchess of Sussex is "apprehensive" about the idea.
"Harry is very keen for his entire family to join him," an insider told the outlet. "It's important for him that they show a united front and focus on building bridges with the rest of the royal family."
A source has claimed that the exiled royal is currently in "government-level talks" about a potential return to the UK in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

"He is adamant that he wants Meghan and the children to join him, but I think she may be apprehensive, and I think she finds being in the UK very uncomfortable."
"Meghan knows that she hasn't been wanted in the past, so why would it be any different this time around?" the insider added.

I wouldn't accept them back into the fold at all. Their only currency is nasty accusations about the Royal Family. Having been separated from the Royal Family for a couple of years, they've sold all their salacious claims and unfounded accusations of racism. They have nothing more to sell to Netflix and Spotify, and Netflix and Spotify know it.

So I imagine their plan is to return to the royal fold for a couple of years, collect some trumped-up claims of abuse and racism -- or at least, create the circumstances in which invented claims of abuse and racism would at least be plausible -- then go back to their LA mansion and sign some more big-money Princefluencer deals with liberal media companies.

There's a YT channel "Lost in the Pond" where a Brit moved to America examines differences between UK spelling and pronunciation. In a large number of them, the US method is the one that was common in both in the 1700s, but the Brits changed them later. Soccer, aluminum, list goes on.

This isn't about a "concept." It's about a human being. And the fact that you don't care about the specifics is troubling to me.

OK, fine. Yes, voters have agency and therefore culpability.

But say that this young lady lived in a district of, say, 100,00 registered voters. Even assuming that all of those voters went Democrat, she is only 1/100,000 culpability (or 0.0001%). (Math is not my strong suit, but you get my point.)

And yet she paid, disproportionately, with 100% of her life.

I used to play as a teenager a game on the War of the Roses called Kingmaker. You'd collect nobles to your faction and their troops and if you managed to get hold of the current king (or one of them) you could summon Parliament to session and grant your nobles all sorts of cushy titles and land.

Yep. For example, in British English words such as "emphasise" used to be spelled (spelt?) with a "z" rather than the second "s." The Brits changed, but the Americans didn't. Same thing with accents; the Brits adopted the "received pronunciation," which arose from the Home Counties accent in the late Victorian era (IIRC). The Americans stuck with the original accent (which is also why Canadians sound like Americans rather than Brits).

Never warmed to that one. Kingmaker had more charm since you had to learn the heraldry and geography to know where the Cinque Ports are or the River Tees. We played it zillions of times when Carter put Spring Vacation from School in the middle of an ice storm in 77 or 78. Always thought it was funny having 8-10 year old little brothers knowing all about Medieval Heraldry and Geography.

As I remember the sport in the UK was named Association Football (so football) then shortened to soccer and then back to football which is consistent with most other countries.

Sure. Diplomacy isn't sucking up to other countries, nor is it trampling over all the other countries setting things up as we like regardless. You can make deals between nations of unequal power, by treating them with some respect and yielding on some points while getting most of what you want.

The problem we currently have in NATO is that we are letting the administration staff think they have an army when they only have what each country gives them, and we have for decades not forced even the rich NATO nations to keep their defense strong, while the staffers clown around the globe like they are important.
