President Biden has been using notecards in closed-door fundraisers, calling on prescreened donors and then consulting his notes to provide detailed answers, according to people familiar with the routine. Why it matters: Biden's reliance on notecards to help explain his own policy positions -- on questions he knows are coming -- is raising concerns among some donors about Biden's age. The president is 81 but claims he feels younger. The staged Q&A sessions have left some donors wondering whether Biden can withstand the rigors of a presidential campaign, let alone potential debates with former President Trump, 77. Biden advisers say the president is given notecards only for very detailed and technical questions, and say he frequently does spontaneous Q&As.
Most recent presidents -- including Trump, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Barack Obama -- have carried crib notes, or used teleprompters, to help guide them through various public events and meetings. I disagree.
The primary factor is that the must continue to hide that nobody is really running the administration.
There is no lone puppeteer or even a unified committee running the administration. There are various committees, all at each other's throats in their internal game of thrones in web of factional power.
That's so much more terrifying than a single person or cabal who's *really* in charge. If there were a single regent or committee of regents, they'd be doing damage control and smoothing out ruffled feathers. But there isn't. Nobody is in control or in charge overall.

They'll make sure of it. My guess:
- No more than one public appearance within 48 hours before the SOTU (prep as they move his sleeping schedule around)
- A top-notch drug cocktail to make him lucid
- A well-rehearsed speech with little if any reference to events more than 72 hours prior to the SOTU
- Address time limited to 40 minutes, targeted for 30 if they can manage it, total event including walk-on/walk-off/glad-handing does not exceed 60 minutes, likely closer to 50.
- No public appearances for 48 hours following the SOTU (recovery)

I noticed 'Man that fire is hot', so I turned the leg away from the flame but it didn't cool so I looked down and went Oh Shit. Mostly saved by the cotton sock underneath but I lost some leg hair before I could beat out the flames.

Yes; the nasal "Fran-speak" is something she puts on. Growing up in Queens or wherever, she may have had that accent originally, but she's trained herself out of most of it.
There's a scene in The Nanny where Fran accidentally gobbles some Wasabi, practically faints, and then speaks for a few moments in a "normal," lower, non-nasal register. As funny as anything Lucille Ball ever did.
