An excellent article by @toby00green in @PerspectiveMags provides a balanced discussion of an under-acknowledged catastrophe -- continuing & catastrophic excess deaths among young people since the pandemic's end. But not in Sweden or Mexico.
A calamity of lost youth
High numbers of deaths among young people are being ignored by the media and politicians
22 February 2024, 11:57am
Ever since the World Health Organisation declared the Covid-19 pandemic over in May last year, the world has moved on. Yet people continue to die in much higher numbers than before 2020. And while covid mortality mainly impacted older people, it is younger people who are now dying disproportionately. The news cycle hasn't said much about this, even though, of course, these unexpected deaths are no less tragic than those of the pandemic.
Why the silence? One factor may be that, historically, pandemic planning factored in excess deaths as part of the pandemic phase. That they would continue for several years wasn't part of official plans, although according to Lucy Easthope -- visiting professor at the Centre for Death and Society, University of Bath, and author of the bestselling book on disaster recovery When the Dust Settles -- it was predictable. As she put it in an interview in September 2020: "For every Covid-19 death, we would estimate another four deaths over two to five years... you see extra deaths for domestic violence and obstetrics, delayed or missed oncology diagnoses, no admission to A&E, sepsis, suicide."
I personally almost died because I could not see any doctor when I had a serious health problem in 2020. My situation deteriorated and deteriorated and no one would physically see me. They just prescribed stuff over the phone without ever diagnosing me. When I was finally forced to go the emergency room, they diagnosed me immediately.
Oh, it wasn't covid.
But covid almost killed me, because of the lockdowns.
...
In the digital era, however, this phenomenon has taken on a life of its own. In the face of public silence, thickets of information and misinformation abound on the internet. So it's best to start with the most unvarnished facts of all: the numbers of deaths. Mortality is far higher than used to be normal. In October, the BBC reported that Scotland's winter death toll in 2022-23 was the highest for 30 years. And things are not improving.
...
First, it's important to assess the causes of these premature deaths. Cardiovascular issues are significant. In June last year, the British Heart Foundation said that since 2020 there had been 100,000 excess deaths in England from cardiac issues. In December, the Daily Mail reported a notable increase in deaths from heart attacks among young people. In July, meanwhile, doctors from Los Angeles reported a 29% jump in heart attacks among those aged 25-44 from 2020 to 2021.
...
Yet covid on its own cannot explain the current situation. There is no clear mechanism to explain why covid infection especially harms younger people, who show the largest rates of excess mortality. Moreover, given the extreme variability of mortality rates between western and eastern Europe, it's unclear why people in some countries should be more prone to this causal connection than others.
The article sneers at the possibility that the experimental mRNA vaccines might be causing these excess deaths, signalling that this is just a bunch of internet Horse Paste conspiracy nonsense:
Finally, there's a large body of material online claiming that this increase in mortality in the young has been caused by the covid vaccines. This material is usually produced by those who saw covid lockdown policies as part of a "great reset" engineered by the World Economic Forum.
The article dismisses the vaccination explanation on the grounds that Sweden, uniquely in Europe, has a very low excess death rate, but had very high vaccination rates.
A confusing factor here is that Sweden never locked down. So maybe it's the lockdowns themselves, after all?
The "experts" have no explanation for this -- and, in fact, refuse to acknowledge there is a large number of excess deaths, especially among young people, that needs to be explained at all.
Speaking of official, lethal corruption:
Evie Magazine, talking with author of The Big Fat Surprise Nina Teicholtz: Proctor and Gamble paid off the corrupt grifter group American Heart Association to claim that heart disease is caused by saturated (animal) fats, not what really causes heart disease.
The Big Fake Food industry loves putting sugar into everything -- it makes cardboard palatable -- and they'll pay big money to suppress any negative information about their miracle ingredient.
Big Fake Food also paid them to recommend replacing real, healthy animal fats with the frankenfoods fake fats they were manufacturing.
[Nina Teicholz] shares an article from a journal called Endocrinology, Diabetes and Obesity that reviews the history of "the diet-heart hypothesis from the late 1950s up to the current day," including revelations that were never published before in scientific literature. The American Heart Association, the nation's largest nonprofit organization that is considered the leading voice when it comes to heart disease education and awareness, started recommending in 1961 that people avoid saturated fat and replace it with polyunsaturated vegetable oils, such as soybean oil, rapeseed oil, etc.
"The 1961 AHA advice to limit saturated fat is arguably the single-most influential nutrition policy ever published, as it came to be adopted first by the U.S. government, as official policy for all Americans, in 1980, and then by governments around the world as well as the World Health Organization," the article reads.
However, they were paid off to distribute this information. The AHA accepted $20 million (in today's dollars) in funding from Procter & Gamble, a corporation that conveniently makes and sells Crisco Oil. The AHA recommended that everyone replace butter with "heart healthy" alternatives like vegetable oil or Crisco Oil.
I will keep recommending The Case Against Sugar by Gary Taubes. It's not a health book -- it's a book about corruption of official institutions, from the American Heart Association to the US government to major corporations. The sugar lobby paid everyone off to pretend that sugar had no unhealthy effects when eaten "in moderation."
That last part is doing a lot of work. Sure, most things are not harmful "in moderation," but remember what these guys' idea of moderation was: Sugar went from being a scarce and expensive additive to being dirt cheap by the late 1800s, and humans went from eating about a pound of it per year to eating 40 pounds per year. (Or something like that: I am a well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.)
The most absolutely enraging part of the book for me was the cereal manufacturers pushing the idea that kids needed a huge bolus of sugar within a half our of waking up to "give them energy," and how they bought off anyone who suggested that maybe putting all children on the glidepath to diabetes wasn't a great idea.
This is why they began adding vitamins to cereal -- just to pull a con on parents into making them accept their kids' pleas for starting the day off with a bowl of dessert with 50 grams of sugar in it.
Anyway -- great book. If the climate hoax grinds your gears, you'll love this book. Big Sugar did the same thing to disprove the obvious fact that sugar causes weight gain -- they held a conference in which only people who thought sugar was harmless (or were paid to pretend it was harmless) were invited, then had a poll of "scientists" at this curated-invitation-list conference, and then went out into the world that they had proof that sugar does not cause weight gain -- they polled "experts"! It was an "expert consensus"!
Relatedly, Doctor Phil and Doctor Drew Pinsky (Adam Carolla's partner) discussed the atrocious media bias, especially in medical reporting.
Dr. Drew Pinsky rages against the corrupt media landscape on "The Adam and Dr. Drew Podcast," "Ask Dr. Drew" and any time he's near a microphone.
The news media's obsession with "misinformation" ignores the most galling sources of it, he argued on the latest episode of "The Adam and Dr. Drew Show."
"Everything is thought of as misinformation or disinformation, when in fact so much of what the New York Times reports, which is the source of quote legitimate information, ends up being incorrect or wrong ... and then of course, no corrections and no adjustments."
"What do we do about this?" Dr. Pinsky asked.
Now, Dr. Phil (real name: Phillip Calvin McGraw) is lashing out at the same targets, courtesy of the "Joe Rogan Experience."

The treadmill is set at 8 but there's three of us so it's actually 24.
This is nice: There is a trend of very attention-hoor women wearing underwear and doing overly sexualized "exercises." They hope to catch men throwing a glance their way -- they hope that men look at the bait they are dangling and twerking -- so that they can put video of minor glances on the internet and attack men for sexually assaulting them with their eyes.
This is the fatherless-behavior attention-seeking feral whore who started the trend:
OMGee you guys, I'm wearing boudoir attire while pumping my pelvis into the air and this Deplorable man glanced briefly at my very mid body! I'm an "Underage 21-year-old" and this is eye-rape!
This woman wears tights so tight you can tell what day of her cycle she's in, and then does kickback exercises that show off her ass and crotch, and then say Oh Em Gee you guys, they can't stop staring at my Camel Toe Exhibition...!
But men and gym owners have caught on to these tramps' game, and are beginning to ban them from gyms:
This is the extreme version of how one deals with a thought to be gym thot. Even if there’s a no filming policy, I’d still ask her politely. Should she THEN become belligerent, I’d call the gym staff. pic.twitter.com/73pL6JoFux
Joey Swoll knocks the guy for being so confrontational -- I disagree; bitches leave -- but points out that this thot was in fact doing what was suspected, using the gym as a backdrop for porny OnlyFans pictures.

7 As you all know, I love airplane crashes, shipwrecks, and roller coaster deaths.
Ever hear of the "Weigh Down" diet? A "Christian" lady created this "faith-based" diet, developed into a "church" and it made her many, many millions. So many millions she could afford her own Jet Airplane.
Well, she died in that Jet when the pilot, also her husband, ditched it into a lake in Tennessee. Some speculate he intentionally crashed because he hated his weird-looking diet-guru wife. Interesting story.

The wife just went to lunch with some mom's from my son's old select baseball team. 10-12 years ago the kids played on an 18u team and we lost touch with the parents.
So the wife comes home and tells me that a very healthy 28 year old my son played ball with just died of a heart attack.
First thing I said to the wife was "It's the vaccine".

Presicion Striking and Nate Bower on YT are really good. Nice workouts that are also productive. I have a Bob that I use to get some reaction and aim. Also been doing yoga 4-5x per week for the last year, and I have no problem bending over to pick things up or cut through fences, balance is much improved, and core strength.
I gave up all lifting a few years ago. I feel stronger now than I ever did just lifting.

I have a suspicion that this is what happened to my mom. In 2021 she was diagnosed with stage IV cancer out of the blue. But given that my parents dont like going to the doctor anyway, I suspect that out of the blue meant her first real doctors appointment since 2019.

I'm on week 23 of following the Juggernaut weightlifting program. Before that I was following a bodyweight exercise program (pushups, sandbag weighted squats, situps, ring dips, stuff like that.)
I'm seeing lots of great gainz in the gym. On Wednesday I was able to get 225 x 2 in bench (two plates, woo!). Then I did 3 x 3 at 195.
On Monday I got 270 x 3 in squat to parallel (high bar back squat).
Last Friday I got 350 x 3 on deadlift (no bouncing the weight).
I'm feeling pretty proud!

My only comment on the "thot gym video" thing.
Honestly, a lot of guys at the gym are posing out of narcissism - their mirror use is not really to get their posture correct for the exercise.
But, they're not filming themselves (OK, some of them are). And they're not combining that filming with passive-aggressive misandry (or misogyny).

Often the cardio is 3.5km on the rowing machine at top resistance. That's usually 14 minutes. Then I jump on the stair climber for 20 minutes at level 6 (one step per second). Then I do about six minutes of bodyweight cardio.

I don't think a church associated with this diet, but is supposedly based on the Biblical hero Daniel's eating only "pulse" or vegetable products for a certain amount of time (I think it's 21 days). Hers is some info on it:

All about them glutes.
Both sexes do it. Women tend to focus on legs and butt, ignoring or underemphasizing the upper body. Men tend to focus on upper body, and ignore or under emphasize the lower body.
Of course, there are exceptions.

I usually work out at home alone, which is how I like it, so I don't have to deal with gym bunnies. I don't see why gyms don't just impose a total ban on filming without prior written consent of the management (to account for instances when someone is actually making an instructional video or something). There's no need for this to be going on at a gym.

Ahhhh, rapeseed! Back in my Senate days, Ted and Chris and I would take some of that and...we we bipartisan in those days, too. We took Bob Packwood with us. Republicans were more reasonable then. You could go raping with them. Not like today's Republicans. You could never get Marsha Blackburn to do that. Did you know she's not even black? Anyway, you know...the thing.

Years ago I belong to the YMCA and they had a no phones policy This was just when phones were new. There is a guy 1st talking on his phone in the locker room and then taking videos Of naked men. I was 1 of those naked men. I took his phone from him and then threw it in the pool.
The YMCA took a dim view of that and threw me out.

Work out at home - it really takes very few bars or weights, depending upon your goals and age
-
This.
I think the only real pita piece of equipment I have is a bench, and literally just a bench, to do freeweight stuff on. Otherwise it's a mid range set of nesting barbells that let me choose what weights I want. And the only reason I have the bench is because I never felt comfortable on a yoga ball, but that's an option.
I don't have goals other than to stay close to healthy and be able to do things when I'm old. I do 100 of everything every other day and don't think about it or write it down.

I've filmed my deadlift and squat max attempts. I always pick a corner rack so the background of my shot is a wall. I do it to make sure my form is good, even on a heavy (for me) lift. I also do it so I have a record of my heavy lift, because I'm proud of it.

The lively and athletic Mrs naturalfake and I have joined the pickleball cult.
It's lots of fun and very social. The games are relatively short so you can get several in easily over a couple of hours time should you wish.
While it seems perfect for those in the general area of 29, there are several groups of young professional taking it up. Same reasons as above- lots of fun, social, short games.
We've joined the Cult!!! Fear us!
Also, we started using the Japanese Radio Work-out Morning Stretching 1 and 2 on YouTube as a good whole body stretch and warm up before pickleball.
Doing both stretch routines back to back takes a bit over 6 minutes.
You may feel silly doing it. But, I highly recommend it before exercise of any kind. It's a very well-designed routine.
Try it out......Now!

I haven't done what she's doing, but I've done something close. One of the things that prevents people from doing a proper squat is hip mobility. I used to squat down by the rack, as far down as I could go, then push out my knees with my elbows. This opens up your hips more, and enables a better squat form.
Again, not exactly what she's doing, but similar.

I don't know if I'll ever get over my rage at lockdown.
It killed my husband by refusing regular medical care (can't see you if you don't have covid!), taking him from a guy who drove to work every day for a 40+ hour week, with once weekly doctor visits and labs to manage his meds and diet for diabetes and diastolic heart failure, to a bedridden man in constant pain, to dead.
Our son went from someone managing his depression, attending college and getting good grades in calculus, to someone drinking constantly while locked up with a man dying a terrible death, to a psychotic break and suicide attempts, to now long-term hospitalization.
the only time my husband had covid he caught it in the hospital, on one of his many admissions those years for things that never would have required it if he had been able to see his doctors regularly.
My husband lost what was left of his health, our son lost his mind.
I will not despair, but I am fine with my cold and implacable rage.

Finally gave in and went. Heart failure. According to docs my heart is operating at 15%. Optimum is 55-60%(?) Still get short of breath and tightness in chest. Earlier last week I bench pressed 315 pounds for the hell of it. Cardio was great, not out of breath. Few days later I'am diagnosed with this. Sure did seem to come on fast. Trying to schedule an angiogram now. Pinnacle of health one week, sucking hind tit the next. Thought being 56 would go better.

> Work out at home - it really takes very few bars or weights, depending upon your goals and age
People have died benching alone. If you're going to bench and squat, you probably want a power-rack. You can get a cheap but good enough one for $250. A proper barbell is another $275. Then weights are WAY more than you think. Bargain bin crap weights are still more than $1 per pound at WalMart. Even cast iron plates at a place like Giant is a bit more.
So for a basic barbell, weights, and power-rack, you're looking at $1,000. That's before dumbbells.
I did bodyweight exercises for a while and added some sandbags later. A gym is better for what I'm doing until I'm ready to lay out at least a couple grand.

I've been a regular Red Cross blood donor since I was in HS. Red Cross is asking suspicious questions when you go to donate. It sounds like they are trying to screen out the vaccinated? It's staggering to me that a vaccine people were socially forced into taking might end the regular flow of donations. Government only has themselves to blame if we suddenly face a blood shortage.
Donating blood also gives the body a lot of GAINZZ, so they will be depriving those past donors of future health benefits.

This is why men want Male only spaces, because internet whores will try to make you a criminal, and try to ruin your life, because of the crime of standing within a 100 foot radius.
Guys aren't going to the gym to watch you do exercises that are almost exclusively done by thots. Hell gyms should start a policy like Planet Fitness, where certain exercises are banned, unless you're some ugly dude or a body builder.
Most dudes would be happier if the jacked dude from the gym told him "looking big bro" than he would getting to watch since girl do whore thrusts for her 8 live stream viewers.

I'd like to report I've been carrying 2 watering cans with water around my driveway. I get really tired.
The guy that works around my house thought I was retarded. He told me the hose is easier. I was trying to explain what I was doing. He told me I should chop wood.

254Safeties, yeah that’s it safeties if you lift alone and are pushing the envelope
Seriously, accidents like this don’t need to happen. There are tools available … if you use some common sense.
Earlier in the thread I said you need a power rack if you're going to lift alone. Someone answered that all you have to do is leave the collars off so you can dump the weight if you get pinned. I pointed out there are flaws in that plan.

255 One of the greatest SNL sketches was Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze as Chippendale strippers.
If you're at the locker room at my 'Y' naked and can't for the ever living love of Gawd wrap a towel around yourself... you're Chris Farley.
Guys so fat that they shower and steam still comes off of their fat bodies 20 minutes later? Get me outta here.

He got reprimanded and had to change jobs.

Gyms are a primo amateur pr0n venue for thots. Unpaid "actors" oblivious to what's going down.
*spoiler... it ain't the thots.

You haven't really got the full endorphin rush a workout has to offer until you've had to struggle out from under the bar on pain of death.
Now I lift less challenging amounts. And that's okay, I was never gonna be Mr. Universe.

"sugar alcohols", which are neither sugars nor alcohols, are the apparently causing people issues. They're added to stuff because they're slightly sweet, but no calories. Some people don't do well with them. If you got a "we have no clue, will call it irritable bowel syndrome" diagnosis, it's worth checking if you're eating them. Sorbitol is one of the more common ones, but there are many of them (they don't all end in "tol", but most do).

I was lucky to live in a relatively sane state during the lockdown. I am a high risk individual for melanoma. I have to be examined annually. In my state, dermatology was NOT considered "nonessential." A acquaintance of mine, also in the high risk category, lived in a state that determined dermatology as nonessential. She couldn't go to her annual appointment. Me, my doctor find melanoma. I got it excised, clean margins. Yay! But my acquaintance was lucky on a different way.-- when she was finally allowed to see the dermatologist, they found nothing. Yay! I thank God I lived in the state I did. Who knows where I'd be now if I'd've had to have waited until the end of lockdown ..?
