CNN: Don't Worry About Biden's Mental Decline, Galaxy-Brained Kamala Harris Is Takin' Charge

Robert Spencer sees this as just more evidence that the Democrat-Media Complex is now in full Dump Brandon mode.CNN published a lengthy exposition on Sunday that could have been entitled "Kamala to the Rescue," for that's what it was all about; the far-left propaganda organ was trying to sell us on the idea that Harris, after showing herself to be abjectly incapable of doing anything beyond spouting preposterous word salads for as long as Old Joe has been showing off his cognitive decline, is now taking charge, calming the jittery rank-and-file apparatchiks and smoothing the Democrats' pathway to inevitable victory in November. Nary a cackle was mentioned in the entire two-thousand-word piece. "More than two dozen sources" -- wow! Is that like 51 top intelligence professionals? -- "tell CNN that Harris has been gathering information to help her penetrate what she sometimes refers to as the 'bubble' of Biden campaign thinking, telling people she's aiming to use that intelligence to push for changes in strategy and tactics that she hopes will put the ticket in better shape to win."If Biden won't budge, Kamala may be the one to call for the 25th Amendment ejection from office. That's a pretty unfounded speculation but what if Biden is now so mentally incompetent he doesn't even know he's mentally incompetent? Meanwhile, the Democrat-Media Complex is using Retard Jiu-Jitsu to claim that Trump is rilly the one in cognitive decline, racists.
It's begun. The left is trying to turn the tables and declare that it is Donald Trump who is in cognitive decline. If it weren't so sad and desperate, it would be funny. A professor at the University of British Columbia claims to have assessed the cognitive functioning of both Biden and Trump. He warns that Trump's mental decline is "more apparent" than Biden's but Biden's "cognitive failure" could be disastrous in a second term.
Advertisement Professor Paul Quirk is described as a politics professor. He's not a mental health expert or a psychologist. He teaches politics. Yet, he claims to have assessed the situation of the presumed frontrunners in the 2024 presidential election. He is an American citizen, having graduated from Harvard and taught at U.S. universities before he went to Canada. The professor claims that Trump's decline is more obvious because of his 'slurred speech and gross, repeated errors.' That's a fairly clueless observation, IMHO. Biden is known for his inability to speak without slurring and mumbling and the non-stop lies. Is "repeated errors" code for lies? If so, this guy is just clutching for straws. He's Canadian, so take his hot takes for what they are, just another progressive worried that Trump may be on his way back into the White House.

Yea, he lies his ass off. But that first debate with Biden, Trump came off terrible. I still say half the reason he lost was that first debate.
Subsequent debates, he did much better, but everyone had higher expectations and Trump fumbled.
I I just hope Trump does his homework this time and gets some talking points down. Maybe it was Covid brain, but it just seemed like he was completely lost in that debate.

I thought Trump's tactic in the first debate was interesting, to keep interrupting and generally be as obnoxious as possible to make FJB blow his stack. It didn't work because Joe's drugs were strong enough to keep the lid on and Trump did not repeat it in the 2nd and 3rd debates.

I had a weird rash spreading over my body once, several years ago, around Christmas time. Went to the Army hospital, and the only doctor on duty was internal medicine. We busted out a textbook of some sort with photos of rashes, trying to match mine. I guess a man has to know his limitations. He eventually ID it, prescribed some steroid cream...and, 10 days later when there was no improvement and the dermatologist came back, he said it was candida, steroids only helped the infection, and a simple anti-fungal cream wiped it out quickly.

Sorry to hear that.
I had to get an epidural once when I was having a surgery. Apparently my vertebrae are really close together. It took those guys an hour of poking my back to actually get the shot put in the right place. They gave me this pain reliever shot that only lasted like five minutes. I hated how that made me feel, so I told them to do the epidural without it.

The work here is to say that Biden's incapacity is just age rather than his obvious cognitive issues which are related to age but not determined by it - there are eighty year olds who are still sharp but Biden clearly is not one of them. This strategy sets things up for them to get rid of Biden last minute and take people's unease at Biden's cognitive decline and transfer it to Trump while they replace Biden with a much younger candidate.

I don't expect anything to happen before the convention. That leaves too much time for other candidates to make their case and insist that the choice be left to the people.
More likely, he will be crowned as the nom, and then have an unfortunate health episode which requires him to step down. They will all intone about how much he's done, and how sad they are that he gave so much to the country that it damaged his health.

Nah. The whole VP becomes President thing is deeply, deeply flawed when compared to real life. VPs often make terrible presidential candidates, and it's more about institutional support. The assumption is that a VP already has the institutional support, but even that's not enough.
DeSantis coming off of four years as a successful AG or SecState with Trump's endorsement already has a cleared path, plus he gets points for (hopefully) having done meaningful work in making improvements to the administrative state. VP who stands around waiting to be pointed in a direction is such an overrated position.

Completely agree. Don't bury a star in the warm-up position where a VP becomes a non-entity under a domineering Trump. Put DeSantis where he can be proactive, vocal, and controlling and let him build up a portfolio of Federal success. Then, like you said, let him move into the Presidency with the momentum. Hopefully, Trump won't think of DeSantis as a threat anymore and will focus on his own priorities which are vengeance and pushing MAGA into the deep recesses of government.

I think, bizarrely, Pence helped Trump quite a bit in getting elected. He appealed to the older, moderate, casual Christians of the GOP that were turned off with some of Trump's rhetoric and general reputation. Pence added the "respectability" and more traditional angle to attract those voters. In such a narrow victory, I think it actually helped a lot. Not to win one state, but a critical sliver of general voters.

That is the secret sauce why GOPe leaders do not want honest elections. They hire these contractors for the primaries to GOTV--what they actually do is collect ballots, fill them out, and put submit them. This takes a live feed from the SoS voter history file and these harvesters look for people unlikely to vote in a primary (most voters usually) and then submit them.
The fraud was from Nikki's side as Trump was after the caucus votes which were meaningful. Want to get rid of GOPe, get rid of primaries and substitute caucuses. Much harder to subvert.

The only prayer that Trump has to stay in office if by some miracle that he beats the cheat--is to take offense and grind the Uniparty down. A bunch of investigations are necessary to hobble their comms on Capitol Hill and K street as well as non profits.
Personally, I would consider DeSantis as FBI director rather than AG. The AG needs to be someone like Matthew Whitaker that has already seen the elephant (he was acting AG for a time) and knows how to ride herd on the existing structure.

However, if they could pull off a "basement strategy" a la Biden for her and keep her off the campaign trail - just appoint her to the job because Not Trump - they'd be ecstatic. Obama et al. would be in heaven leading her around like the token that she is while maintaining all the reigns.
I'm holding a 50/50 position that Biden will be replaced at the DNC convention with Harris and they'll run with it knowing the MFM will become the most vocal Harris advocates seen in history. It's not a good bet, but it's one of the options to which they're resigned.

The problem with someone from outside DC is that his 'helpers' from the bureaucracy will string them up. EPA administrator was one such guy from OK and a good dude. His underlings purposefully launched a coup using remodeling the office for security ruse and then hammering him over it.
Reagan had the same problem with Richard Allen and his Sec. of Labor Ray Donovan. Deep state toadies in those departments aimed at bringing them down by any means necessary.
I can see an outsider working better if the department was online with a dispersed work from home. That forces comms to be more open and makes it more difficult for collaboration among the bureaucrats.
Better to squander money having a lot of bureaucrats on paid holiday than to have them screw up everything they touch by being present in their offices.
