Climate Insurrectionists Vandalize The Display Containing The Actual Physical Copy of the Constitition With Red Powder

I don't expect there to be any consequences for this desecration of a national artifact.

Not even for "parading."

They are going to destroy a priceless piece of art or history which will be lost to our posterity forever, and The Regime will be responsible, because they continue to coddle and indulge their bratty, feral leftwing manchildren.

The people that wrote it had recently launch a major war over a 1% tax and "common sense gun control". That Soviet American elected officials and bureaucrats can say the things they say and the people just accept it would shock them.

Always.

They know who pays their checks. The only thing they have to determine is "what would the Party want me to do?" They know that the Party wants them to not intervene, so they do not intervene.

Or they were given prior notice. I'd say the odds are a bit better than a coin toss that they were told in advance to expect this, and how they ought to responds to it (that is, to not respond).

I don't even know if the display case was ruined. I assume it can be cleaned off.

This was just another example of some over-indulged jackasses making an annoyance, and spectacle, of themselves in a manner wholly unrelated to the retarded substance of their claims.

They should be parachuted into Avdiivka (that's a city in Ukraine that maybe fell to the Russians today, who knows) and told to fight for the future of the planet.

Because worthy or not, righteous or not, proper or not, such an action would be a one-way ticket into the Garland Archipelago.

"Why did nobody intervene when that drug-addled vagrant raped that woman on a subway?"
"Why did nobody intervene when that store got robbed?"
"Why did nobody intervene when that guy was menaced on the street?"
"Why did nobody intervene when that arsonist burned the building down in broad daylight?"

The basic answer is always the same: because intervention will result in the person's life being destroyed by the state.

Go down a layer and you get to an answer that is still accurate, yet much worse: because nobody is willing to risk the destruction of his own life for the benefit of this place and its rulers. It is unworthy of defense, especially if such defense presents personal risk.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at February 15, 2024 02:18 PM (HnUIn)

I was under the impression all federal cops are the same police force. If you have police in a federal building, whether it's the capitol, any federal building around the country, including VA facilities, they're all basically the same force.
Posted by: BurtTC
------
As far as Capitol Hill and federal judicial security, there is a separation of powers issue with the executive. They are in effect not cops but security guards on a facility that can hold suspects for the police. US Park Police may have jurisdiction in the case as the National Archives is close to the mall and the US Park Police have jurisdiction over federal lands of the Mall, etc. and adjacent federal buildings.

Been too long since I lived in DC to comment much about it.

I think the guy alleged to be the mastermind of the gang that actually did it were Southie mobster types affiliated loosely with Whitey Bulger etc. that took the paintings for ransom.

They weren't experienced art thieves and did not realize the paintings were too hot to move after the ransom plan fell through.

Perhaps, but most art thieves who steal famous paintings do it for ransom. That was the plan with "The Scream," for example.

The Gardner thieves, IIRC, also stole a Napoleonic trinket (a helmet or something?) with no special value... which would argue against stealing for a collector.

As I understand it, the process goes like this:

1. Steal famous painting
2. Have unknown forger make exact copy of the painting.
3. Have same forger paint over the original with a version of a different famous painting using water soluble paint.
4. Donate original painting back to museum.
5. Arrange a situation where the fire alarm goes off causing the water soluble paint to run while you escape to a non-extradition country.

318 One of the things about art theft (which any halfway art-heist novel at least addresses) is that once a painting is stolen, it's known to be stolen, and is therefore hard to sell unless there's something else going on-- a buyer/contract situation, something valuable/unique about the frame, some kind of decoy operation...

IIRC there was one plot where the stolen painting was in fact a forgery. Trying to remember what that was from (or if something similar actually happened).

I may be thinking of famous jewels, which once in a great while are re-tested and determined to have been mis-identified.

337 This blonde in lacy underwear has utter respect for the ideals and ideas in the Constitution of the United States, and incalculable contempt for Maoist NPCs who engage in disruptive and performative actions aimed at the destruction of a great history of honor and moral rectitude for the purpose of ushering in yet another anti-human hellscape built in the image not of titans, but of demons:

There's something not quite right about that girl's right thumb. Looks like something other than a thumb.
Otherwise, not bad.

340 326 I love the liberal whine "what happened to Willis"

I don't think anything has happened to her that she didn't initiate. She could have not slept with her employee, and she could have not embezzled public funds with which to pay her employee she was sleeping with, and she could have not taken a case made of whole cloth at the request of the white house and used it to steal.

343 334 In the end, both American and Chinese financiers will rule the world.
Posted by: Pudinhead
---------
Financiers never get to rule the world. That is because it is easier to liquidate them than to pay off debts.

Stupid assholes believe everyone can be bought with money but they forget that some people want power more than money. See how Phillip the Fair of France treated his bankers--the Knights Templar. Henry the VIII and the Church, the French Revolutionaries and the debts of France, etc. And there is also Putin/Russia and the bankers.
---------------
You miss the point of no single center of finance. Fuck with one of our distributed finance centers and we cut your nuts off. See how it works?

354 They wore Good Will-like clothing & shoes intentionally. What is on them clearly doesn't fit. It appears they used the powders employed for Indian festivals, all of which are available from a multitude of sites.

Some powder colors could contain hazardous chemicals, including pesticides or detergents irritating to the skin, eyes, and even lungs. The powders can enter the mouth and aggravate conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (Worse than even oil and natural gas? ha, ha, ha)

Those 'kids' need to learn even products like their vegan shoes contain materials made from oil (i.e., rubber soles); PVC (not the harmless pellets) often coats canvas, etc.

Building materials, disposable diapers, many soaps & medical devices, IT equipment & phones, and like a zillion other useful products exist, in part, thanks to the oil/gas industry. Everything in moderation.

360 I think Elric Blade at #28 has the gist of it:
"The left really is a haven for the useless, the worthless, the perverted, the mentally ill, and the most repellent in society"...

That's where The Left gets their power from. Lefties insist there should be no consequences, no repercussions, no-downside-at-all for individuals who can't or won't grow up and take responsibility for themselves. "Big-Nanny-State gonna take care of you; you can be Peter Pan forever, just vote for us and you can have whatever kind of Soma floats-yer-boat and we will always be oh-so-sympathetic to your plight."

So all The Useless get told (and get to believe) that it's somebody else's fault that their lives suck. It's not that they're dumb or lazy or drunks or dopers or have other bad habits that drive normal people away. They are perfect the way they are and do NOT need to expend any effort to "fix" anything. All the problems in their lives lie OUTSIDE themselves, and if they just band together they will eventually become a great enough force to overthrow the Patriarchy, or the White Raycissst Establishment, or the arbitrary and restrictive Rules And Norms of Western Civ, etc.
