Omar (my rep) is an American citizen; she can't be deported. She can be primaried, though, which is about to happen. She says a lot of dumb, unnecessarily controversial things, and I'd like to be represented by someone who doesn't do that.
She took an oath to defend the constitution. Saying Somalian first was a dumb thing. She can advocate for the interests of Somalia without saying "Somalian first". It makes it sound like the reason she is in congress is to protect the interests of Somalia. Sometimes those interests are not consistent with what is best for the US. A test can be primarily measuring other things and still be a good proxy in aggregate. Simply put, a test being only 20% or 30% pure IQ test will still give good population sized data, it'll just muddy comparisons of individuals. Errors in measurement should largely wash out in comparing population statistics unless it's one that exclusively applies to a given population.
At any rate, you'd want more than a hiqh IQ to send people to college so it is appropriate for a test to focus on more than that.

BTW, saw you talking a week or so about having considered relocating to AZ -- but not sure given the seemingly purple nature now of the politics and not wanting to suffer in the heat as well.
Rural Northern AZ is extremely conservative -- but yeah, Phoenix & Tucson keeps stealing elections; anyway, we're in Prescott -- and have milder temperatures, and five seasons that includes some snow in winter (the fifth being monsoon rain season in late summer). The SAT is, literally, the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Why accept someone for training in scholarship in they don't have the aptitude for it? Would the NFL draft Dylan Mulvany?

The NFL combine doesn't conduct a test of pure athletic talent either, it tests athletic results. Results have training and time spent as an input, it's not a level playing field, and that's fine.
Scholastic Aptitude Tests includes more than IQ. For example, literacy. It makes no sense to send an illiterate person to college.
Tests of knowledge aren't inappropriate for college, particularly for certain fields that are more knowledge and memorization focused.

But to zeroth order, the SAT does measure IQ: given basic literacy, the ability to read a passage and abstract the point is a function of IQ. The ability to recognize analogies and patterns on the math part is a function of IQ. It's not like the SAT features question on calculus, but rather complete the series "triangle, quadrangle, pentagon ...."

"g" is a factor measuring basic human intellect. This was discussed in "The Bell Curve", ad nauseum. "g" is certainly another way to indicate IQ. IQ is supposed to be somewhat age-dependent, that is, what is the typical measurable "IQ " for 5 year old, would be different for a 25 year old, etc.

The SAT does have normal mathematics questions on it, it's not as purely IQ oriented as you're suggesting in mathematics. It does test algebra and geometry.
It's a reasonably good test for seeing whether people are ready for college level courses. All of that will tend to get IQ reasonably well as a proxy, particularly if the students are on average invested in doing well and put forth substantial efforts.
Language arts type testing to me seems necessarily heavily knowledge-based.

Well, it depends. Some Euro colonies were snakepits because the colonizer didn't much care about anything but getting a bag of money and leaving. Sugar colonies, many of the Spanish colonies in South America, Belgium didn't do any sort of training or elevating.
Not sure where the Italians lie on that spectrum. Libya, their other colony became bad later, my only knowledge of it prewar is from the Desert War.
