De-banking is one of our many Blessings of Liberty (tm). By allowing the private sphere to regulate speech, we create a community of shared norms and values while keeping the government out of such activities. The fact that a few Trumpers and far-right types don't understand this is itself proof of its virtues, and we should all give three cheers for de-banking.

Exactly. Except for a brief revival during the Phil Hartmann era, that shows has been grim since the original writers like Michael O'Donoghue died off. SNL probably holds the record for running on fumes unless you count a political publication like NR.
Posted by: Trump poisoned my cat -------- NBC uses it for propaganda and to accentuate its hip, white, liberal urbanite audiences by stroking their egos. Same folks that used to watch NBC shows in the 90's. SCTV is an actual funny show not massaged by marketing specialists. SNL had some high spots early on and a few other good years during the Hartman, Murphy, etc. years but mostly unfunny dreck. It became a platform where Lorne got rich by being an impresario pushing his SNL cast members into Hollywood movies where he got a producer credit and moolah. Last night we had Dr. Pimple Popper on. Not sure why, but they LOVE to have trannies on that show. This segment was about a M-F African American who might even pass under minimal scrutiny but certainly not the Mick Dundee test.
This person had pierced his ears (yes, when he was a gay male) and that created keloids which is apparently a scarification thing that happens to African Americans. They were large pendular objects from the earlobes. In the interview portion where the patients tell their sad stories, trans said that working out was a core part of their life, and the keloids made that difficult, as airpods would fall out of his ears, and they would bounce, like balls slapping him in his face. I could not believe they actually put that on! Posted by: blaster at January 30, 2024 12:31 PM (xhfG9) 203

But the left lives in a bubble, and doesn't themselves get de-banked, so to them, this is all a fiction.
++++ What's really funny about this is that the term itself - which I agree is stupid, but nonetheless real - comes from related terms pushed by left-winger totalitarians: "underbanked" and "unbanked." These are people who aren't in the financial system, or are barely in the financial system. An "unbanked" person is a person with no bank accounts or credit accounts at all. Cash-only people. The "Underbanked" may have just a checking account (or just a "reloadable prepaid card," which is actually a checking account) but no savings, no credit accounts, no retirement accounts, etc. and who mostly transact in cash taken from the account. Both of those people are in "bad situations" and the finance industry and their pets in government have loads of programs to "help" the underbanked and unbanked. They invented this language. "Debanked" (really, "disbanked") is a follow-on from their own concepts. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at January 30, 2024 12:37 PM (mwCIn) 248

'runner' is one of those commenters who regularly needs to have his sentence reformatted to undo the unintended opposite statement he has mistakenly committed to text. He stopped our on-scene reporter in the middle of a live analysis of the Iowa caucus as it was going on, to accuse him of being hopelessly corrupt. He got a well-deserved "fuck you" for that, which I endorse.
He's 'run' way down my own shit list. Anything he says is suspect. He needs an editor, and probably an arts major to walk around with him to keep him from bumping into other people.
Yup. It's almost an entire aisle. Called "Intimate Products" or something like that. CVS literally has a branded "toy cleanser" to "Keep Sex Toys Hygienic." This must be pretty big business.

I really like True Detective season one, good acting, good sex and nudity, good action.
I feel I got 'bait and switched' though, as it was teasing a near-Lovecrafting vibe and it turned into a pretty normie serial killer in the end with a James Mason fetish. Second season turned me off and I haven't gotten back on. Posted by: Mark Andrew Edwards, anti-Marxist, buy ammo and keep your rifle by your side at January 30, 2024 12:52 PM (xcxpd) 360

Posted by: Minnfidel at January 30, 2024 12:50 PM (MGqzM) I was always more partial to Thandie Newton. Or whatever the fuck her name is. The mousey redhead secretary was kinda hot in her way too. Maybe because Maura Tierney's character was such a ginormous hosebag, it made me not find her attractive at all. I mean, a little, at least. I was a teenager, so, you know. I admire Phyllis Diller for being willing to look ridiculous with the crazy hair and outfits to do her comedy routine. She reminds me of the female version of Rodney Dangerfield (Not that he had crazy hair; He just bugged out his eyes) in that they both talked about their spouses.

Sexual wellness - There are many different types of sex toys carried at CVS including vibrators, vibrating rings, kegels balls and weights and more. CVS allows you to easily purchase sexual health products online. Your order will arrive in discreet packaging, so no one will know what's inside. There are even FSA Eligible Vibrators & Adult Toys! Surely, not just CVS. ----- I come from a generation where glue, lighter fluids & spray paints were locked away & one had to get in disguise and go to South Street or New Hope to see/buy playful items. Kathleen Madigan is funny.
To me, not to the extent that some top male acts are, but she's in there. I find bits she does funny, but had a hard time watching an entire hour special she did. In other words, I find her funny in short increments, not a whole show. Posted by: Meanwhile . . . . at January 30, 2024 01:29 PM (ky+MF) 384
A huge problem with comedy today is that comedians feel the need to virtue signal a ton during a show to avoid the possibility of being cancelled. Tons of pandering to women, for instance (women are so much smarter than men is a refrain almost every male comic says in a show at least once). It gets hard to watch and cringey.
