The Super-Smart Thinkfluencers at Saturday Night Live Have Never Heard the Term "De-Banking" Before, and Think Trump Made It Up

So smart. Please teach me all of your knowledges.

During the "Weekend Update" segment, the show suggested that Donald Trump made up the term "de-banking."
"Trump did have a slight stumble this week while talking about banks, and he introduced an interesting new term called de-bank," said Colin Jost.
"I don't know what the hell de-bank means, but you might have to take 'de-ambulance' to see 'de-doctor.'"
There are corky terms Trump coins and are worth ridicule. "De-banking" is not one of them.

Of course not. I use the word once per week.

But the left lives in a bubble, and doesn't themselves get de-banked, so to them, this is all a fiction.

SNL did a segment mocking Trump for using the word de-bank:

"Trump introduced an interesting new term: de-banking. I don't know what the hell de-bank even means."

Somewhere around 8 years ago, I finally got it. The Trump thing, I finally realized why he needed to be elected. He was speaking somewhere or other, and basically said the main thing he wanted to go after was the fed, and international fraud (aka, banking).

He sounded like he meant it.

Now, it didn't work out exactly the way he said it would, but heck, I think it's obvious he didn't realize how powerful the forces arrayed against him were. But he meant what he said then, and means what he says now, and that's why I wholeheartedly support him, even if he never accomplishes what he's trying to do.

Some skits were written by the performers, and some written by writers whose names I've heard, but mostly don't remember, but that era, late 80s/early 90s, seems to me is without question the greatest era of the show. The bigger names than MacDonald, who always said he hated performing in skits, including the well known names: Hartman, Carvey, Myers, Lovitz, etc. It was great comedy.

Dig into their finances, emails, etc. and you will find many of these Senators and House leaders as corrupt as the Biden crime family.

I listen to the comedy stations on Sirius/XM, so I hear 1 -2 minute bits of tons of different comedians stuff. There's far worse than Tig out there as far as bad comedy goes. But, I find it's incredibly subjective. For instance, I find I mostly don't like black humor (black comedians performing specifically for black audiences) and find that female comedians tend not to be as good as male comedians (although that is slowly changing).

Even some of the classic skits I re-watch now and they're more stupid than funny.

NBC uses it for propaganda and to accentuate its hip, white, liberal urbanite audiences by stroking their egos. Same folks that used to watch NBC shows in the 90's.

SCTV is an actual funny show not massaged by marketing specialists. SNL had some high spots early on and a few other good years during the Hartman, Murphy, etc. years but mostly unfunny dreck. It became a platform where Lorne got rich by being an impresario pushing his SNL cast members into Hollywood movies where he got a producer credit and moolah.

202 Last night we had Dr. Pimple Popper on. Not sure why, but they LOVE to have trannies on that show. This segment was about a M-F African American who might even pass under minimal scrutiny but certainly not the Mick Dundee test.

This person had pierced his ears (yes, when he was a gay male) and that created keloids which is apparently a scarification thing that happens to African Americans. They were large pendular objects from the earlobes.

In the interview portion where the patients tell their sad stories, trans said that working out was a core part of their life, and the keloids made that difficult, as airpods would fall out of his ears, and they would bounce, like balls slapping him in his face.

I could not believe they actually put that on!

I think you have to look back on the early days of SNL different. Some of it seems kind of boring and lame now, decades later, but when it first hit the tube there was nothing like SNL. We weren't that far removed from high comedy like Leave it To Beaver and The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Today it's tame but back then it was holy shit wow.

I can remember watching SNL on Sunday afternoon on the vcr. Watch the opening, then the next skit, then FF until about the mid-point (Weekend Update) then turn it off and rewind the tape. Total funny parts maybe 10 minutes. The final half hour was always cringe inducing.

What's really funny about this is that the term itself - which I agree is stupid, but nonetheless real - comes from related terms pushed by left-winger totalitarians: "underbanked" and "unbanked."

These are people who aren't in the financial system, or are barely in the financial system. An "unbanked" person is a person with no bank accounts or credit accounts at all. Cash-only people. The "Underbanked" may have just a checking account (or just a "reloadable prepaid card," which is actually a checking account) but no savings, no credit accounts, no retirement accounts, etc. and who mostly transact in cash taken from the account.

Both of those people are in "bad situations" and the finance industry and their pets in government have loads of programs to "help" the underbanked and unbanked.

They invented this language. "Debanked" (really, "disbanked") is a follow-on from their own concepts.

346 The new season of True Detective kinda sucks IMHO. Season three is my fave, filmed here in the Natural State, with exception to scenes outside the Sallisaw OK PD. Local dialect, and a bar fight that made YouTube. Also a most violent gunfight that makes the Wild Bunch look like Mr. Rogers.
