How many F-16s did it take to lose to uneducated, dirt-poor Afghans with AK-47s left over from the USSR invasion in the 80s?
The number of hunting licenses issued each year in Pennsylvania would make the 4th largest army in the world. Liberals knows how this shit works though, and how once they pass an illegal law it'll stay, even if the law is struck down.
They make these rules and then set near impossible deadlines for the companies, so even if the company thinks the rule will be overturned they still need to spend millions/ billions working on changing their products to meet the standards, incase it doesn't get thrown out. Then even if the rule gets overturned they basically still just put out the crappy products, because they worry liberals will just reintroduce the rule after they pack the court with leftist judges. Pretty much every leftist law ends up going in to effect anyway, because there's always the threat of a new leftist regime. Posted by: Rbastid at January 24, 2024 01:31 PM (eyVUP) 52

What FJB fails to realize, is that there are untold tens or hundreds of thousands of Americans, who'd KNOW how to keep those F-15s and F-16s, from ever spinning up their engines, much less taking off on a mission.
And there are countless ways to manage that, too. Veterans with Aircraft Mechanic experience will know one set of ways, while Ordnancemen will know others, and former SF "Secret Squirrel" types, yet more. Geez, and that's just aircraft. Similar thinking can lock up an entire National Guard Armory, too. You don't have to "fight" a dot-mil, if they can't even get out of their own corrals. The Republican donor class totally lost control of the Republican Party on Tuesday night and are now “a desperate group of bystanders” after former President Donald Trump torched former Gov. Nikki Haley in New Hampshire, the New York Times (NYT) acknowledged Wednesday.
Despite the donor class spending more than $167 million in Iowa and New Hampshire against Trump, pro-Haley backers failed to bring their candidate within single digits of Trump’s massive victory. While pro-Trump spending only amounted to 34.1 million in Iowa and New Hampshire, pro-Haley money wasted $31 million in New Hampshire alone to finish second. The answer to that, BTW, is to do the same as a conservative executive/congress. For example - start investigating every company with the DIE initiative for violating federal laws on racial discrimination, or at the state level require all new construction to have a natural gas hook up, etc. When WY considered banning EVs it was a sign some conservatives are starting to look at how to play the game but...they chickened out. I have a vintage 1950's Tappan deluxe gas range. Hubbymayhem and I got it free from the house my dads uncle lived in. We housed it in the shed and spent months cleaning it. Uncle Palp gave me some great advice on that! Decades of meat grease and Crisco splatter on every single part. It now sits in my kitchen. It looks cool and it works better than any range I have ever had. The oven turns out gorgeous pies! We have considered finding another one to use for parts but nowhere to store it. The only problem with it is the clock. It doesn't work very often and when it does, it makes a very annoying noise. It's also heavy enough to hold the house down in a tornado!
The federal government will only get this stove if they stomp over my lifeless corpse. I hope they get hernia and permanent disabling back problems for the trouble. Posted by: Madamemayhem (uppity wench) at January 24, 2024 01:36 PM (cRrcX) Posted by: JT at January 24, 2024 01:36 PM (T4tVD) 103

72 The Republican donor class totally lost control of the Republican Party on Tuesday night and are now “a desperate group of bystanders” after former President Donald Trump torched former Gov.
The whole conflict about "organic" farming is part of the same plan to induce artificial food shortages.
"Organic" farming produces only 1/4 of the crop yields that regular farming with fertilizer and pesticides does. Posted by: Speller at January 24, 2024 01:39 PM (pSotA) ++++ I was once at a lecture given by a "futurist" farmer with an organic/smart bent. His emphasis was on product quality (a solved problem, in his eyes) and on yield (nearly solved). Fair enough. Given that his position is that we could make the switch en masse to his methods right now and be fine, I asked him a question. I asked, "what are your yields in terms of useful calories per acre as compared to current mainstream farming methods?" He did not answer. He danced around it, but provided no answer. That was answer enough for me. I don't doubt that his product is of higher quality. I do doubt he can feed the world with it. However, politicians don't turn down money, so it is a pipedream. Posted by: TheJamesMadison --------- GOP campaign consultants get rich off the useless robocalls, mailers, and radio/tv/social media ads. They are beautiful porcelain covered and hand painted. Especially the cook stoves. You can get modernized originals or reproductions, and they cost like a sonofabitch.
- I suspect because you can't really reproduce them. I know a guy with a 100 or so year old ice cream truck that he is letting slowly rot away because it's illegal to paint the side using the authentic lacquer or enamel techniques used when it was created. Heck, you can pick out 2006-2010 or so American cars because the feds required a change in how paint was created or applied and it wouldn't stick to the metal. Next time you see an old GMC van or work truck with white paint peeling from weird places, ask what year it is. I bet those appliances are close but not quite, and it's wildly expensive to attempt to get close. Posted by: BruceWayne Yes and to disable vehicles, and to damage communications and so on. The strategy used in Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan only works if you are at the long tail of logistics with an unhampered safe area to make all that stuff. In an internal civil war in the US, there won't be that unhampered safe area and with people having extended families across the US, this idea that you can just bomb rural areas into submission is rather stupid because a lot of people in the service will have family there and take revenge. We would probably see something more like the Russian Revolution from 1917 to 1922 or so or the Chinese Revolution which lasted even longer but with nukes and other modern tech. Posted by: Pillage Idiot ____________ Thrust vectoring allows the aircraft's engine nozzle(s) to point in another direction other than the direction of flight. Up or down, mostly. How does Joey B figure he is going to fuel those jets? He's already drained the strategic Petroleum reserve, and in the event of a civil war, I don't think the red states are going to be sending him any fuel, or food either. He really is incredibly stupid. Very quickly, all he'd have is starving infantry, and they can't march very far or fight very well, particularly with snipers picking them off as they tried to move.
And by the way MPPP I was in a war, I know fully well the capabilities of the US military, but I also understand what makes them so formidable, and where their weak points are. Posted by: An Observation sez China Joe not my president at January 24, 2024 02:16 PM (CecP5) 435

-- That reminds me, and it's worth a main page post. The military hasn't met their goals after they announced they no longer wanted white men. Down 10K or so in a lousy economy. Ponder that for a moment. But what's interesting is that death numbers were mentioned. "Whites, who constitute 67% of the active-duty and reserve forces, accounted for 71% of the fatalities. African Americans are 17% of the overall force and were 9% of the fatalities. Hispanics are 9% of the force and were 10% of the fatalities. Shay's Rebellion was put down by the countries nascent military force. The "rebellion" largely consisted of Revolutionary War veterans who arguably were being screwed over by the new aristocracy and government. It was controversial even among some of the veterans including some leading Revolutionary War figures (Adams for one). But I think Jefferson addressed it best on 13 November 1787 and believed the people had the right to rebel against an authoritarian government that wasn't much different than the one we defeated. But he also seemed to suggest the rebellion wasn't based on facts and those involved should be set straight on facts pacified and pardoned. That wasn't the road for some who were persecuted and put to trial. But the eventual outcome was that Governor John Hancock did pardon all involved. But then, he understood exactly what Jefferson wrote and was interested in the good of the country. I dare say that's not the motivation of today's Democrats. They have made the people who disagree with them the enemy. Nothing good will come from that.

____ I could be wrong, but I think Trump's appeal to blacks, esp males, is his get things done and take no crap from anyone energy. Tim Scott doesn't have any of that. He may be a net negative with blacks due to his white fiance, which, again, I'm guessing, is looked upon very negatively with certain segments of black women.
