More Chatter About Biden Dropping Out of the Race by the Convention

It could be that Biden is pushing this divisive, ugly "we will crush our political enemies using the power of the state" appeal because he's planning to drop out of the race by May, and figures that he'll do all the dirty work to allow the new candidate to just lightly run on Authoritarian Persecution of Political Enemies.

Even Biden's communications team at NBC "News" discusses Biden's possible withdrawal from the race.

"There's no way the president would go home to Delaware and voluntarily give up an office he pined for his entire political career," writes Eamon Javers of CNBC and NBC senior national political reporter Peter Nicholas. "That's the conventional thinking in Washington, anyway."

But what if Biden takes a hard look at his poll numbers and concludes he'd rather bail than risk losing to Trump, the GOP front-runner? Or if he is feeling every bit his age (81) and no longer wants all the travel and stress that come with the job? Or if he decides the negative attention heaped on his one surviving son, Hunter, would subside if he just took himself off the ballot and retired from politics?

None of that is expected; neither is it out of the realm of possibility.

Over the last 50 years, Democrats have grown accustomed to a comparatively orderly and transparent process that empowered voters, not party bosses, to choose the presidential nominee.

Biden's withdrawal from the race would disrupt all that, setting off a frenzied scramble for the nomination unlike anything that most Americans have seen in their lifetimes.

...

The possibility of Biden staying in the race is presented as equally risky for the Democrats. Citing Mitch McConnell's infamous brain freeze this past July, the authors ask, "What if something similar were to happen to Biden?"

What if? The alte kacher can't walk ten feet without stumbling, shakes hands with ghosts, and has to be wrangled by the Easter bunny.

A brain freeze of some sort, a bad fall on the steps of Air Force One, a speech that devolves into gibberish -- any fresh sign of frailty would reinforce Americans' impression that Biden is too old for the job. Biden's doctor proclaimed him "fit for duty" in February, but voters have their own ideas of how a president should look, act and sound -- and Biden isn't measuring up on that score.

The White House has organized itself in ways that minimize the chances of a Biden stumble -- physical or otherwise. It's no coincidence that Biden is forsaking the long staircase on Air Force One for the shorter one that unfolds from the belly of the plane.

Yeah, we'll just have to hope that Biden's speech doesn't devolve into gibberish. I can't even imagine what that would sound like.

A senior analyst at Democrat-connected bank JP Morgan predicts that Biden will in fact quit the race.

Or the race will quit him, actually.

In a report published on January 1, JP Morgan listed as its third prediction for the top ten surprises of 2024 that Joe Biden will drop out of the 2024 presidential elections due to health reasons.

The full prediction states that "President Biden withdraws sometime between Super Tuesday and the November election, citing health reasons. Biden passes the torch to a replacement candidate named by the Democratic National Committee."

...

Biden has the lowest approval rating of the last 10 presidents in the same time period, at 38%.

...

These predictions were written by Michael Cembalist, Chairman of Market and Investment Strategy for JP Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, in honor of market strategist Byron Wien, who passed away last year at the age of 90.

Again, the J6 Op was similar to the Russia Collusion Op.

I'm fairly confident to a high degree of certainty that there were already numerous "investigations" of many people on the organized J6 side in progress well before that day ever happened.

The continuing of the J6 "investigations" allows them to spy on people in Trumps orbit, similar to how Crossfire Hurricane allowed them to spy on Trump in the lead up to the 2016 election, if Trump wins by some miracle, the J6 investigations will continue right into his administration and he will have to have whoever he hires as DOJ head, stop the investigations.

That is going to set off a nuclear bomb if that happens.

51 Note how willingly these skeptical journalists comply:

"Biden campaign brings top journalists to Wilmington.

"Two people with knowledge of the situation told Semafor that during meetings with reporters from outlets like The New York Times, the Washington Post, and others, campaign officials have invoked a coverage spreadsheet laying out areas where the team believes their reporting has fallen short.

In particular, campaign officials have chafed at some of the coverage of former President Donald Trump, feeling that outlets are too focused on his legal troubles and haven’t paid enough attention to some of his incendiary recent statements on the campaign trail. A source familiar told Semafor that with the exception of its recent meeting with the Times, the campaign meetings had been “substantive” and “productive,” and that Biden staffers were scheduled to meet in the coming days with political reporting teams from ABC, NBC, The Wall Street Journal, Fox, NPR, Reuters, Bloomberg, and others in Wilmington."

And the need to cheat is baked in, I think. Biden sucks hugely, but pulling the old switcharoo with the candidates will also leave a sour taste in a lot of mouths and breed some resentment. 78 69 And the need to cheat is baked in, I think. Biden sucks hugely, but pulling the old switcharoo with the candidates will also leave a sour taste in a lot of mouths and breed some resentment. If they do it, it will obviously have been calculated and done on purpose with the timing and that will piss off a lot of people. The need for special election operations is there regardless. It's a no-win scenario.

152 "Yeah, we'll just have to hope that Biden's speech doesn't devolve into gibberish. I can't even imagine what that would sound like."

I believe this why he will only yell ultra-partisan attack speeches from now on. The Handlers know this sort of speech is deeply ingrained in the unconscious reflex part of what remains of his functional gray matter. The Handlers feel it's still safe to load the TelePrompter with fightin' words then wind-up Joe and send him walking 20 feet to the lectern.

Yet his windup mechanism is corroding away faster and faster, so he becomes more and more lost in space towards the end of the planned list of words. It's why DOCTOR Jill has to go out more often to corral and lead him away.

Political types are the first to blow the whistle as they actually deal with real voters more or less. Deep state apparatchiks are always behind the curve. Austin being awol is an example of how the parts of a regime begin to come apart because of information being siloed.

One of the problems of a authoritarian governing regime is that the normal feedback mechanisms break down as no one is willing to tell the head honcho bad news. Formerly, our propaganda press served that role but Biden has them coming to Delaware to be confronted with spreadsheets detailing coverage and how it can be 'improved' for FJB.

I am not sure they have anyone who can plausibly claim to have "81 million votes", or even 30 million. That makes it a harder sell.

And remember, black support is key since it is the inner cities where the votes are counted. So they need someone who they can claim "won" and who the inner city machines are willing to fraud for.

207 Let's use this assertion as our definitive starting point: Joe Biden will never voluntarily resign from the presidency. From this, two things can happen: he wins or loses reelection. His poll numbers are abysmal. He stands a very good chance of losing.

Can Democratic Party leadership force him to resign via the 14th Amendment or blackmail? No. They all share secrets. Their secrets bind them together. Joe will talk if threatened, with Obama most affected.

Can Republicans impeach him and force him from office? No. The Republicans are posturing, as usual, as always. They know there's no real chance impeachment can work. It's all Failure Theater. Besides, no one wants to see Kamala Harris assume so much as a day in office as president. That's the nightmare scenario.

I think Biden will have a fatal or debilitating stroke close to election day and will likely be caught on camera when it happens. It's the only possibility that gives the Democrats a better-than-even chance of winning.

That's one way. They will *not* force him out due to competence. Zero chance. Too humiliating for the Party. They will not try to blackmail him out because there's too much mutual blackmail and he's high enough up there that his handlers can the pull the trigger on too much nasty stuff. That would also be too humiliating for the Party, since they've been all-in on the "Honorable Joe" narrative.

The Movie Critic isn't about Kael. It's about a character based on some guy from The Rolling Stones, I think.

"Set in 1977 California, ‘The Movie Critic’ is said to revolve around a critic who writes movie reviews for a porno rag called The Popstar Pages. Tarantino described the protagonist of the film as “a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag […] He was as cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic,” the director added."

Right, this is a better way of restating my question. I was assuming that this was a sudden (and therefore problematic) discovery. I should not have made that assumption. It could be that these bolts need to be tightened periodically and it is up to maintenance ops to do so in accordance with the schedule - which would cast the Alaska Air incident in a new light if it turns out to be the case.
Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at January 08, 2024 03:51 PM (Zp1WF)

if the bolts are torqued properly, retightening is a disturbing thought. Generally, especially with safety critical fasteners, in the mining industry, bolts are 1 time use. if they're loose, investigate and replace. they can only stretch so far during torqueing before permeant deformation happens. that leads to failure as well.

I liked it although it's easy to see why it was a box office failure.

ILD reminded me a lot of "Barton Fink", another story of someone trying to make it in show biz and failing.
In this case, the folk music scene of the early 60's.

Rather dark, very subtly written. The movie doesn't show its hand until the last few scenes. Weirdly, the movie is very ambivalent about trying to entertain you at all. I think the Coens wanted to make a point.

Some nice 60's style folk music.

Check it out.

2. WHY WHY WHY do we allow centralized vote counting????? this should be done as local as possible and only numbers tallied up.

The Max also had the issues with crashes on takeoff due to how they added larger engines on the same body which changed the center of gravity of the plane. The planes that had paid for the software that adjusted for takeoff issues didn't have issues, but the ones that didn't had plane crashes.
Surprised Boeing commercial wing survived that.

Jackie Brown is his only, really grounded film, and I find it boring, which is why he never made another reality based film again.

He's a fantasy/slasher director masquerading as some other director.

And, yes, there are scenes in many of his films that are mesmerizing, like the opening scene in Inglorious Basterds, for instance, but ultimately, all of his movies devolve into gore, blood and violence.

It's not quite my tempo any longer.

Becuz racism and stuff. The GOP long ago decided that the Black vote was Democrat and that it spoiled their grift and feelings to be accused of racism.

Would not be surprised that something like the informal arrangement of Boss Crump and the GOP in TN was also involved. Crump allowed the GOP to run E. Tennessee and the GOP allowed him to run the state and the western two thirds of it at the local level.

454 *biden's death before the election, like this spring or summer would illicit a shit ton of sympathy. Getting *biden out of the way with the biggest boost to the Democrats is the play. This is one play. There may be others. Whether his death is natural or assured by the Deep State isn't relevant.

What is relevant is what's done with Harris between that time and November. And what's done with the election, assuming the junta decides to have one.

470 My problem with Inglourious Basterds is that it's supposed to be this huge Jewish revenge fantasy against the Nazis, but every Jew in the movie (plus the black boyfriend, the Brit commando, and all of the Germans/Austrians fighting against the Nazis) gets killed, except for the one who's lucky enough to be chosen by Brad Pitt to escape with him (and it almost seems like Pitt's character doesn't give a crap that he's getting away scot free while all of the other people are going to get killed.) Shoshanna is particularly depressing in that she gets killed by that oaf himbo Nazi. Meanwhile, the MF'ing SS officer survives--horribly scarred for life, true, but still! Pretty much everyone you actually sympathize with in the movie (Pitt's character is too much of an asshole to really like) dies. If I were a Jew, I would have been really unhappy with that movie. Supposedly, he started writing the movie before Kill Bill, and Shoshanna was originally conceived as what the Bride character ended up being--she was taking down Nazis one by one on the way to Hitler or whatever. THAT might have been an engaging movie; this just left a really bad taste in my mouth.
