Elise Stfanik Calls January 6 Prisoners "Hostages," and Piggish Liz Cheney Snorts Her Way Through Another Feeding Trough of Outrage

Stefanik referred to the unjustly-imprisoned political prisoners as "hostages," and to show that she did not misspeak, she's posted the quote to her Twitter feed:

Deep State Cancel Pig Liz Cheney is, get this, making all sorts of noise she'll soon use for fundraising purposes.

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) dug into Rep. Elise Stefanik's (R-N.Y.) labelling of Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol rioters sentenced to prison as "hostages," calling the New York Republican's word usage a "disgrace" and "outrageous."

Stefanik earlier Sunday told NBC News's "Meet the Press" she has "concerns about the treatment of January 6th hostages." The remark was reminiscent of former President Trump's rhetoric the previous day about those involved in the Capitol insurrection.

In an interview with Cheney, CBS News "Face the Nation" anchor Margaret Brennan noted how Stefanik's remarks echo the word Trump used to refer to the prisoners, to which Cheney said, "That's why she's using it."

"It's outrageous and it's disgusting," Cheney continued. "And if you ... go and you look at what individuals have been convicted for, who are incarcerated, you'll find it, you know, extensively, these are people who were involved in violence against police officers in the assault on the Capitol. And it is really disgraceful for Donald Trump be saying what he's saying and then for those who [are] attempting to enable him or attempting to further their own political careers [to] repeat it."

"It's a disgrace, and you cannot say you are a member of a party that believes in the rule of law, you cannot say you are pro-law enforcement if you then go out and you say these people are 'hostages,' it's disgraceful," Cheney added.

We believe in the equal application of law, not the two-tiered system of injustice this grotesque pig favors.

They're totally not political prisoners. You can tell they're not political prisoners the way that Democrat Media Establishment is running on a political program of nothing but the punishment of these political prisoners:

Meanwhile, this Representative claims there were 200 undercover agents and agents provocateurs encouraging people to enter the People's (LOL) House.

1 Mind-blowing.
@RepClayHiggins
says "well over 200" FBI assets were involved in Jan 6 including some dressed as Trump supporters inside the building leading people to key locations in the Capitol.

Higgins is a former LEO and veteran--no chance he's making this up.

“Frankly, I’m very grateful for the efforts of the FBI to bring nearly a thousand people to justice who ransacked our Capitol and did violence against police officers to that day,” he added, calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable.

Legally, pardons were generally for specified criminal offenses but occasionally like the Nixon pardon or the Carter amnesty, must have specificity in either the person or the offenses.

But, you also have an entire DOJ apparatus to run pardons through and they were not going to approve it and simply would delay for time. It probably would have also been included as an article of impeachment had he done it.

First: Any claim there were federal agents at the Jan 6 riots is a lie. A complete and utter lie!

Then: So there were a few federal agents at the Jan 6 riots but they were just there monitoring the situation

Finally: So most of the people doing bad stuff and the people who coordinated were federal agents. That doesn't change that you had people parading in the People's House. And if that isn't a crime worthy of a long prison term I don't know what is!

The problem I have with comments like that is the people making them rarely think beyond the moment of opposition itself. If you use violence against an oppressive state agency, even if you win in the moment, it's going to double down and bring ten times as much force against you the next day. Shoot at FBI agents? They'll come back at you with the military, which has a lot more toys than you do.

There is a formal process just like for declassification. Technically, such things are unconstitutional but the Deep State, for example in the Dreamer case before Scotus, made it all about the intent of the President when he did something rather than the legal requirements (the Constitution in this case).

Billy Jeff Clinton relied on sleazebag creep DOJ acting chief Eric Holder to approve the Marc Rich pardon using that exact process. That way Billy Jeff kept plausible deniability that Denise Rich's gifts to his foundation had nothing to do with the pardon.

I think we are past that point. What's become apparent over the last number of years is that most of what we think is going on in DC is a facade. There really is only one party and it works hand in glove with the deep state. And a relatively small group of people have gotten obscenely rich and powerful by thwarting the will of the voters to run the government their way.

What happens if that facade is torn down and the American people get to see what is really going on in DC? The desire of the establishment and the deep state to destroy Trump and his supporters is so over the top as to be almost comical. People here are openly speculating that they might try to assassinate Trump and we aren't the only ones thinking this.

This isn't normal politics. This is something well beyond that.

226 END OF SNOW CUZ GLOBAL WARMING!!!

Also...

"The weather service said in an advisory early Monday that up to 2 inches of snow per hour could land in the central and southern Plains Monday night into Tuesday, with the snowstorm advancing into the Midwest.

A foot of snow had already landed in Massachusetts by Sunday afternoon, leaving 13,000 homes in the state without power. That number had dropped to 5,600 by Monday morning.

Snow and hazardous conditions are also expected in the interior Northeast throughout Tuesday, while a blizzard is expected in the Plains of northeast New Mexico, eastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles, western Kansas and southwest Nebraska."

They keep tiptoeing closer - I get the feeling that Israel wants to wait until most operations are winding down in Gaza before they openly commit to war with Hezbollah. Still, in the last 4 days;
- Israel took out a top Hamas official in Beirut, who was supposed to be under Hezbollah's protection.
- Hezbollah was mad so they shot a bunch of missiles at Israel and more seriously, badly damaged Israel's main electronic listening post on Mount Meron.
- In response to that, Israel targeted/assasinated a senior leader of Hezbollah who was also the brother in law of Nasrullah, their Supreme Leader.

You wonder how much higher the players are going to push the stakes.

232 What really drives me nuts about the 1/6 "insurrection" is this: In a self defense shooting scenario, you have to prove intent, opportunity, and jeopardy.

Basically, it's not enough for the person to have the idea to kill you, they also have to have a time and place and they have to put you in real danger.

WHAT WAS THE FUCKING REAL DANGER OF 1/6 ACTUALLY OVERTHROWING THE GOVERNMENT? Everyone on Liz Cheney's side love to play up the people smashing windows and mob-pressing cops, but that's not nearly enough to overthrow the government. They love to say the mob had the intent of keeping the government in Trump's hands, which they take as self evident. They don't ever actually present much evidence of that.

Where's the actual jeopardy of the mob overthrowing the government? What's the mechanism? How do they do it? Even if they get their hands on Pence and the electoral votes, there's a line of succession and the electors can re-submit votes or certify what their votes were. There are also processes for disputed electors and votes. So again, no actual jeopardy of overthrowing the government.

At most you've got intent.

____
Someone linked in an earlier thread a link stating that the purpose of the insurrection was to prevent the challenge of certification of electors. Then Nancy could go into emergency session and avoid all that, including even a un-successful challenge to a state's electoral slate, could cause courts to recognize "standing". So, while not an actual insurrection, it's a handy cudgel to cover up what the Fed's intent was - prevent a challenge to certification, and punish Trump supporters wandering around the building after the certification was already cancelled. Interesting theory, makes a lot of sense to me.

Never been tested. The old Scotus precedent is Wong Ark Kim case dealt with green card residents giving birth in US to Kim. What distinguishes the 14th Amendment from the jus soli doctrine is the limiting phrase in the 14th requiring the individuals be "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" which everyone ignores. An originalist court might very well constrain natural born to include only people born in the US or under its jurisdiction. Then again, it might defer to Congress over the definition.

Recent test case involves a guy whose parents were foreign diplomats and he was born in the US. Denied a passport as State claimed he was not a US citizen and currently winding its way through the courts. Even under a broad Jus Soli approach, diplomats were never considered under the jurisdiction thereof (they have diplomatic immunity) and their child not a US citizen.

All that does is build anger. A lot of think tank study of government overthrows include government overreach. Marcos for example killed Aquino and ended up being driven from office because of it and he was replaced by Aquino's widow.

The Easter Rebellion in 1916 was another example--Irish nationalist lost the battle but the ensuing Black and Tan reaction by the Brits ended up losing most of Ireland for Britain. Gorby's futile crackdown on the Baltic States in 1989-90 is another backfiring example.
