No way Trump is elected. Trump lost in 2020 by an 8 million vote landslide, and that was before all his crimes were exposed and the criminal indictments. It was before he was found guilty of rape. He won't do any better in 2024 than in 2020.

It wasn't by any means a landslide. It was about the same Electoral vote margin as in 2016. He lost by 44,000 votes in three states, an extremely narrow margin, easily whittled down with enough sabotage from third party candidates.

I'm hopeful the law will prevail, and Trump will be taken down by the courts. Maybe the dark forces of the so called deep state everyone talks about will decide that Trump is a liability. 😊

I did the same thing for breakfast. But I replaced the rice with an orange pastry crust, the ham with mincemeat, the beans with a cream cheese egg custard, and the vegetables with sour cream and vanilla.

Otherwise very traditional.

97 So the absolute worst part of yesterday's earthquake was listening to the woman on the news pleading with people to seek high ground.

It was a 7.5 (or so), so not so bad for tsunami. Before the big Tohoku earthquake I used to joke to my wife because for every earthquake the news would go to the water to watch the tsnumani come in. Usually just 10cm or some nonsense number, and they would try to spot it in Tokyo Harbor. Even 1m is hard to see since a normal wave or tide is bigger.

But yesterday it was disturbing listening to the news people telling people to take cover. "Don't worry about valuables, your life is more important," "don't even bother to turn off TV, just please move inland or to tall building,"...

That lasted for an hour before I turned it off. The good thing about X (FKA twitter) is that in past you had to wait a day or two to see how bad the earthquake is. Now I saw all the worst damage in near real time (I think.) and it looks like not so bad. Many damaged homes, but I only saw a couple total collapse so probably not too many deaths.

Anyway, I thought I should say something. That is why I am awake in middle of night. Happy New Year.

Lights got brighter on the rig because the intakes on the generators were taking in gas and were beginning to run away. I saw that almost happen to a land rig. The operators were unloading an oil well to the surface, uncontrolled, that was not to far from a drilling rig. Gas drifted over to the rig.
