The balloon hovered over sensitive military sites. Biden wanted to shoot down the balloon, though he was persuaded not to do so by the brass due to falling debris. Yet, we know that wasn't the first option. The Biden administration wanted to hide its existence and subsequent penetration of US airspace (via NBC News):

Administration officials at first hoped to conceal the balloon's existence from the public, and from Congress, according to multiple former and current administration and congressional officials.
"Before it was spotted publicly, there was the intention to study it and let it pass over and not ever tell anyone about it," said a former senior U.S. official briefed on the balloon incident.
A senior Biden administration denied that there was an effort to keep the balloon secret. "To the extent any of this was kept quiet at all, that was in large part to protect intel equities related to finding and tracking them," the official said, referring to intelligence gathering. ADHD and autism are actually symptoms of chromosomal abnormalities, not diseases of themselves - doctors and activists are reluctant to admit it - and these vary depending on the crimp, deletion or addition to the genes resting on the arms of the chromosome - and depend on which chromosome this abnormality has happened - the higher the chromosome and the further out on the end from the distal, the lesser degree of symptoms. Parents are always reluctant to have a Fisch Array done - but you will discover the issue, and a prognosis can be developed.

Many of these abnormalities happen spontaneously at conception - and many happen just due to the age of the parents - so, it's sad.

I have unfortunate knowledge here that I wish I did not.

I am aware. I've experienced it. I would say 100% of veterans come home with war memories, and 95% put those memories aside (they'll never be forgotten) and carry on with life.

Many of those you see at the VA want to get diagnosed with PTSD to get money from the government or as an excuse for bad behavior. Of those, only a small percentage have actual debilitating PTSD.

And yes, I also worked at a VA hospital for a couple of years.

Though one fundamental point to consider, for most Americans, the government is the cause of most of their problems.

Money? Bidenflation
Job? Outsourcing/Immigration
Crime? Illegal Immigration

I hate it, I am one of the few that enjoys winter. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, hockey, winter camping etc. I like warm weather, but when things are green and you can do stuff outside, there's nothing really you can do in this weather and it's fugly.

Unfortunately, there were no individual awards for anything like 'PTSD.' Difficult to prove disabling, especially on a permanent basis, so it was said.

Things have slowly changed but it's still a struggle for many veterans & their families.
