Barack Obama: Yeah, Joe Biden Might Lose in 2024 and My Third Term Might End

Via Karen Townsend.

This doesn't necessarily mean anything. Even when Democrats thought they had the "fortified" election of 2020 in hand, they worried that overconfidence would lead to complacency would lead to their voters not showing up to vote. (As if the Democrat Party depends on voters actually voting!)

And so they scared their voters with claims that Trump was closing in in some states, were he wasn't.

Still, given that there is a major debate in the party right now about whether it's time for Sunset Joe to gallop off into, um, Hell, this can also be taken as the First Gay President signalling that it's time for Sunset Joe to get to fixin' to mosey.

Those with concerns include former President Barack Obama, who "knows this is going to be a close race" and "feels that Democrats very well could lose" the 2024 election, according to a person familiar with his thinking. Obama worries that "the alternative is pretty dangerous for democracy," the person said.

Remember, Obama's campaign manager/Astroturf engineer David Axelrod has been very vocal about how things look "very, very dark" for Dark Brandon.

Former Obama senior adviser David Axelrod commented on a recent Wall Street Journal poll that puts President Biden's approval figures at a record low, saying it is "very, very dark" for his re-election campaign.

Axelrod made the comments Saturday during the "Hacks on Tap" podcast alongside political consultant Mike Murphy and former Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs.

The Wall Street Journal poll Axelrod was discussing has former President Donald Trump leading Biden 47% to 43% in a hypothetical with two people on the ballot. Trump leads 37% to 31% in a hypothetical ballot with five independent candidates also listed.

Biden's job approval only hit 37%, a new record low for the WSJ poll, and 61% of those who responded see the president's overall image in a negative light.

"Job approval down, ratings generally down, most of the comparatives with Trump not good," Axelrod said on the podcast. "What I worry about, you guys, from a Biden standpoint, is these are the kinds of things you get when people are starting to rationalize their votes."

"And they just put out another photo op with the 'Bidenomics' sign next to him...it's just unbelievable to me," he added.

On most issues such as the economy, border security and inflation, respondents to the poll sided with Trump. Only on the issue of abortion did Biden beat Trump.

So Obama very could be signalling that he endorses his onetime "Senior Advisor's" handicapping of the race.

Or he could just be playing Captain Bullshit in between faculty lounge discussions with "Interesting Italians." Who knows.

And who knows how to read the portents in this? The crash you hear is a driver smashing into the "Presidential" motorcade.

It's almost as if cold hard reality is smashing into Dopey Joe's fantasies.

There is a question about Biden's ability to win the New Hampshire primary. Because he forgot to register himself for the ballot and will be competing as a write-in candidate.

There will be 21 people listed on the Democratic presidential primary ballot in New Hampshire next month, but one name will be conspicuously absent. President Joe Biden, assuming he was the candidate by default, never filed to run in the New Hampshire primary. But that "default" assumption isn't looking quite so solid these days and some of the Big Guy's supporters are getting nervous. So a few of them have hastily launched a super PAC and begun an advertising campaign asking people to write in Biden's name and demonstrating how to do so. Having an incumbent show up as a write-in candidate is pretty much unique in American electoral history, but we're living in unusual times.

"Doctor" Jill wrote that "Decency is on the ballot" in 2020.

Robbie Starbuck affirms: Yes. Yes it is.

Robby Starbuck
@robbystarbuck

Since this tweet:

* Joe had a trans activist shake their fake breasts on the White House lawn
* Cocaine found at the White House
* Male Biden appointee steals Womens clothes at airports to wear them
* Gay sex tape filmed in the Senate
* Joe's son had sex tapes go public and more info on his sexual relationship with his dead brothers wife went public
* Drag Shows on military bases
* Joe caught in corruption scandal after his son Hunter is revealed to have been paid millions by foreign sources for no good reason and Joe was involved despite telling voters he never was
* Navy hires drag queens to recruit more drag queens to join the military
* Taxpayer funded sex changes
* Biden defends child sex changes
* Biden interviewed by Dylan Mulvaney

This is just a short list, it could be thousands of bullet points.

Jill was right, decency was on the ballot and the outcome was indecent.

I added in the quotes because Biden is certainly not the one who missed the deadline.

But it's amazing that the people running things are as incompetent as he is (and was, even before his dementia)

4 I'm willing to lend credence to the idea that the Obama faction ended up supporting Biden because he put in Kamala and also hoped that Biden would either step down or not run for re-election.

Maybe Biden promised them something along those lines.

If that's the case, then Obama is mostly bitching that his puppet isn't the one signing the executive orders and is hoping to make it happen by taking the backbiting behind the scenes public.

I'll believe Biden is prepared to leave the post when he does anything, absolutely anything, that indicates that he's making that move. Until then, the entire Democrat Party is stuck with him, and he knows it.

I remember how the PA Secretary of State sent out 250,000 illegal mail in ballots to be cured, no one stopped him, and then Democrats won a bunch of races in PA by pure coincidence.

71 from Forbes last month:

New Hampshire will hold its primary for the 2024 election cycle on Jan. 23, state officials announced Wednesday, maintaining its tradition as the first-in-the-nation primary state and formalizing a decision that prompted President Joe Biden to remove himself from the ballot.

Maybe not. Margot Cleveland thinks there is a good chance the Supreme Court will find that the statute Jack Smith is going after Trump with, the same one used against many of the J6ers, is not applicable.

And despite it getting almost zero media coverage things are happening in Georgia with regard to the 2020 election.

74 That could well be the beginning of the end for Biden. If he loses NH, then the whole "inevitable" thing starts to crumble. I'm still of the opinion that he'll get the nom, and be somehow moved aside, but this is also a possibility.
_____

Insurance policy. If the Dems want to keep Biden, they'll get some judge to do some hocus pocus on the law and he'll get on the ballot. If the Dems want to drop him, we'll probably find out that Biden also 'forgot' to register in other states as well. Of course we're supposed to believe that this is Biden's responsibility alone (he has early stage dementia, poor fool) and there isn't some national party organization who normally assists in these things.

I've never believed this. I think it's nonsense. The idea that the black community was going to go vote for Kamala or whomever and then Jim Clyburn put out a press release and they all switched their votes?

I think the black community never came close to supporting any candidate other than Biden. I think Biden's win in SC was excused away by thanking Clyburn because they needed a reason why Biden so easily won when the media has spent a year propping up a series of uberwoke candidates like Harris, Beto, Buttigieg, and Warren.

I think the easiest explanation is this: Biden was Obama's VP. He was popular with the black community, and the media wasn't going to convince them that Kamala was just as good. Ever.

131 Right-wing tantrum over Jill Biden Christmas video accidentally reveals how much MAGA hates America. By AMANDA MARCOTTE

To normal people, the video was a bit of old-fashioned Christmas cheer in the great American tradition of musical extravaganzas. To MAGA-Americans, it was a moral and aesthetic outrage. Republicans struggled to articulate exactly what they found so offensive. Vague terms like "weird," "grotesque and abhorrent," and "classless" accompanied odd accusations that the performance reminded them of "The Hunger Games."

...what fueled the outrage, and it's not just a general right-wing aversion to fun. It's plain bigotry. The first smiling face we see in the video is a Black woman. Throughout the video, many of the dancers read as people of color and queer people. Plus, the music is jazz, not classical. We are apparently at that point in fascist development where they reject syncopated rhythms as decadent and emasculating.

There were a few MAGA types who flatly stated their objection: "This is gay as hell." All the coded language about "weird" and "classless" and "smut" was just a veil over the real grievance; people MAGA hates were up having a good time.

TJM, a lot of the black turnout machine in the South comes from black preachers and their congregations. Black turnout is not monolithic and depends on different organizations depending on where you are in the country. Hispanic turnout is driven by even more diverse organizations depending on where you are.

Essentially the DNC's functions other than the former running of the party apparatus have been outsourced due to dark money and billionaires insisting on going outside the party structure after losing in 2004 with Kerry. The formal party structure still retains some power regarding ballot access, election challenges, etc. but since 2016, has become less and less relevant to Democratic politics and candidate selection in urban redoubts.

156 142 I can see the merit in your view, TJM, but, I am also convinced that American elections are corrupt and have been demonstrably so since 1890's. Also don't think our views are mutually exclusive.
Maybe the machine uses elections as a very juicy lemon and makes a juice to suit their market.
Posted by: Jamaica at December 18, 2023 03:24 PM (Eeb9P)

=========

Since elections are run by the individual states, you have to measure the corruption at a scale across the states. There are a wide variety of tools. The RNC mostly uses ballot access stuff. The DNC does that as well as having access to the ballot box stuffing mechanisms of low-turnout precincts in urban areas.

So, South Carolina's elections are not as corrupt as, say, Pennsylvania's.

Since we're talking about South Carolina, that has had voter ID for years, actively cleans up its voter rolls, and doesn't allow much in the way of mail in voting (2020 had its fair share of absentee ballotting, but not for the primary in February), I think it's safe to assume that the 2020 D Primary was relatively clean.

211 Nikola founder Trevor Milton was sentenced Monday to four years in prison in connection to defrauding investors of the embattled electric- and hydrogen-powered truck maker. Milton also was fined $1 million and could later be forced to forfeit property as part of his sentence. The punishment was far lower than the 11 years prosecutors had requested at Milton’s sentencing in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. But it was substantially more than the non-jail sentence of probation sought by Milton’s attorneys.

240 December 18, 2023
West Long Branch, NJ – President Joe Biden’s job rating has hit an all-time low in the Monmouth University Poll, including particularly poor marks for his handling of immigration and inflation. Only 3 in 10 Americans say the incumbent is giving enough attention to the issues most important to them, which is worse than for his predecessor. The poll also finds congressional leadership ratings have dropped, with the new House speaker debuting in negative territory.

Public opinion of Biden’s overall job performance currently stands at 34% approve and 61% disapprove – his lowest rating in Monmouth’s polling since he took office. Since September, his approval number has dropped 4 points and his disapproval number has increased by 6 points. Between October 2022 and July 2023, Biden’s approval rating ranged between 40% and 44% while his disapproval number registered between 48% and 53%. Presidential approval has dropped among both Democrats (74%, down from 80% in September and 88% in July) and independents (24%, down from 30% in September and 38% in July); and it currently stands at just 5% among Republicans.

No, that is not the sole criterion. There is one more: that the product is woke.

Hypothetical: a movie tells the story of the long-term friendship of three families through their trials and tribulations. All three families are traditional families consisting of a wife and a husband and children. The three families go to church (that's where they met). One family is black, one is white, one is Asian.

Diverse, but not woke - and therefore, no artistic merit and you *shouldn't* like it.

Now, take the same story, except one of the families is a couple of gay men and all the families bang each other in a big perma-orgy after meeting at a Pride Parade. All three families are white, but committed to social justice activism and they invite their Latino yard boys to join their sexual escapades in straight-laced suburbia. This movie would be woke and thus would have some merit, just not as much as it would with the original racial configuration from the first hypothetical.

Then they can all go work at Arby's for minimum wage and a shift meal.

I have no problem with Japanese companies buying assets but some industries like steel have serious national security importance. No steel, no ships, tanks or planes.

That's why CFIUS was set up although Democrats ignore that one as well when there is a buck to be made for them.

I believe they started here 'from the ground up' - as in researching what locations would be conducive to them. Which is a helluva lot different then trying to take on an existing enterprise with union workers. Personally, I don't see it happening. Fetterman, in this case, is just making the right noise in Pennsylvania.

Last time the Iowa Caucus was sabotaged to negate its impact in setting up an upstart candidate. This time the NH primary and presumably Iowa are being negated to not give anyone traction vs Biden.

That would be fine (ish) if the DoD needs could be satsified by local steel. I was aghast that we have a single ammunition plant that can't be expanded for years to produce more than replacement levels of a peacetime military....and we have exhausted our reserve stocks in Ukraine.

If the idiots did get a Marine Division, say, parked in Ukraine they would run out of ammunition pretty quickly and be just as screwed as the Ukraine army.

305 Puddin didn't forget to qualify for the primary in NH. It's been known for some time that he wouldn't be on the ballot.

Puddin made a deal with Clyburn to make South Carolina's primary first in the nation. New Hampshire has a law that they must be first. The NH Dem party removed Biden's name from the ballot.

Japan has turned out to be one of the US's best allies. They're taking up a lot of the slack for our mismanagement of our military in the seas around China. China is still intimidated by Japan, which in these days and times is a good thing.

308 Maybe not. Margot Cleveland thinks there is a good chance the Supreme Court will find that the statute Jack Smith is going after Trump with, the same one used against many of the J6ers, is not applicable.

And despite it getting almost zero media coverage things are happening in Georgia with regard to the 2020 election.

I had the same response. I'm used to seeing them grab him and push his head down and into the limo.

Well, maybe that's what I've seen in movies, but they sure did seem not especially concerned.

310 Understand, Joe Biden is not running. He wasn't running in 2020.

The cabal that made him and 0bama their frontmen is who is running. The people actually voting next November are not voting for Biden (OK, maybe a few LIVs) but 1) against Trump and all the evil non-Progressives out there and 2) for the Progressive church. They are more than OK with said church replacing the pope at a whim.

Go back and read some of the history between 900 and 1600 AD. It will become obvious.
