Poll: Voters See The American Dream Dying Under Biden
The American Dream is dying faster than Biden's frontal cortex.
The percentage of voters who believe in the American dream, the idea that working hard brings more success, has dramatically decreased over the past decade, according to a poll published on Friday. About a third of voters, 36%, said the once-popular ethos holds true, per the poll, which was conducted in October by the Wall Street Journal and University of Chicago. That is roughly half of the percentage who believed in the American dream last year, the Wall Street Journal found. Similar polls found that a majority of voters, 53%, believed in the American dream in 2012 and that 46% believed in it in 2016. The poll defined the American dream as the idea that "if you work hard, you'll get ahead." It also asked voters whether life in America is better or worse today than 50 years ago and whether the economic and political systems are "stacked against" them. Exactly half of the respondents in both instances conveyed pessimism. Fifty percent said America is worse off today, and 50% said the economic and political systems were stacked against them. Those who no longer believed in the American dream associated with both major political parties. Women and younger people were more disillusioned by the sentiment than men and older people.Dean Phillips, the Democrat congressman who manned up and declared his bid to be the party's nominee, says it's "delusional" to imagine Biden can win.
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) on Saturday criticized President Biden for his recent poll numbers, arguing it's "delusional" to think he could overtake former President Trump in a rematch. "As a member of House Democratic Leadership, I supported and promoted the Biden agenda, Phillips wrote Saturday on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "I campaigned for him, voted for him, and respect him." "But how can anyone read this and conclude he's positioned to defeat Donald Trump?" he added, sharing an article from Politico centered on Biden's fall in approval ratings. "It's delusional."The article from Politico referenced there shows Biden's job approval losing cognitive acuity.
Biden's recent slide -- and his political predicament some 11 months before Election Day -- represent a confluence of slippage with reliable Democratic constituencies like young voters, the outbreak of war in the Middle East and the rise of independent and third-party candidates who could siphon votes from both Biden and Trump. This week's NBC News poll had a stunning result: Trump led Biden among voters younger than 35, 46 percent to 42 percent. Even though that was well within the high margin of error for such a small subgroup, other polls also show a close race with what has been a reliable Democratic constituency. Biden had only single-digit leads among voters 18-34 in polls this month from Morning Consult (Biden +2), Fox News (Biden +7) and Quinnipiac University (Biden +9). (Trump led Biden in all four polls among all voters.) Only a few polls show Biden with a lead among young voters that approaches his 2020 margins, but they are the exception, not the rule. That's prompted a debate over whether Trump is really making the deep inroads with younger voters the polling suggests -- or if those numbers are an artifact of some kind of polling bias. One popular theory speculates that liberal younger voters who are unenthusiastic about Biden and his party -- over his administration's support for Israel in its war with Hamas, for example -- aren't participating in polls right now, even if many of them will vote for him next November. But Biden, the oldest president in history, has never polled well with younger voters. And telephone polls -- of the four mentioned above, all but Morning Consult were conducted over the phone -- are a difficult way to reach younger voters. Biden's approval ratings are headed downward, while Trump's vote share is spiking. Biden's sagging margins against Trump are one thing. But there are two other trendlines under the hood of these polls that spell trouble for the incumbent. First, his approval rating -- already historically low for a president at this point in his first term -- has been ticking down. Biden's approval rating dipped down to 38 percent in FiveThirtyEight's average earlier this month, the lowest since July 2022. Sorry for the threadjacking...and the wall of text...
My parents flew out to NoVa for Thanksgiving to Favorite Niece's house. Unbeknownst to anyone, Mom had a hernia she didn't tell anyone about (because she had plans, you see).
It got to bothering her, so she asked my sister (who is a nurse; all my siblings are nurses) to take a look at it. Sister freaked and wanted to call the ambulance, I don't remember the technical term for it but there was stuff poking out that wouldn't poke back in.
Mom, true to form, refused to go anywhere until after dinner. After dinner she went to the hospital, they admitted her and did the surgery on Friday morning. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly, so they released her that afternoon.
They were staying in Nova until Tuesday, but everyone else went home. Today I got a frantic call from Sister. Mom is back in the hospital (at her own request, no less) with a pulse rate and blood pressure of just above dead. She and Little Sister (also a nurse) are getting in the car and coming out from Iowa, and I'm getting in the Jeep now.
A few prayers wouldn't be un-appreciated...

I think it depends on how people look at the question.
Is it generally true that if you work harder, you will do better at your job? Yes.
Does that mean that if you work your ass off at your job, you will go anywhere in life? No.
No matter how hard you work at most jobs, you will not get promoted, will not get massive pay raises, and at the end of the day, no one really cares.

She has my sympathy and empathy. I just had surgery this month for an hernia repair that I had put off during wife's cancer treatments. One of the direct proscriptions I faced was my usual travel to keep my viscera from getting constricted. Hopefully she is just having a response to the repair and she is fixable.
Respiratory and cardiac distress that seems worse than it is can be a complication depending on what procedure they had to do so be alarmed my friend but not necessarily panicked.

No way will Biden drop out or be forced out. He may be in late-stage dementia but the Democrats don't have the stones to invoke the 25th to remove him and he certainly isn't the type to take one for the team and refuse to seek reelection. $6,600 a year more money. For the same apartment. The neighborhood hasn't gotten trendier, and anecdotally, this massive increase has happened in every neighborhood in NYC. But we're told commercial office space is sitting vacant since so many people went remote and moved out of the city.

It's priced so low that they're now doing buy 3 get 2 free, and when it's $12 eighths of 30% dank, we're talking $45 (taxes) for 5/8ths of an ounce. Heck, the same quantity of decent hydroponic stuff in the mid-80's would cost nearly $300 (prolly get a bit of volume discount) and be no better than half as strong.

There was a more cohesive culture, and a greater chance for the culture to endure hardship and make it through. We weren't divided over every single thing by design like now. But the groundwork to destroy the country was definitely laid in that decade.

They aren't taking into account that Harris is pure Clinton Camp. Biden is pure Obama Camp. Harris (everyone assumes) was given the VP slot to get a female in the position. But, it was more a concession to the Clinton Camp stemming back to when Obama, basically, cheated his way through the primary against Clinton.
Another reason you won't see Biden voluntarily remove himself is that Newsom is, also, Clinton Camp. You can make the claim that there isn't a civil war going on inside the Dem Party all you want. It's simply not the case. It's just not public.

Increasingly real reporting (i spit on journalism, that's teen girls and diaries filled out till Jan 15th) is being done by people on their own and putting out the information themselves in various places. Places like CNN and NYT are dead for the most part.

When we do enjoy hamburger I always fashion it into meatballs, which get "extended" by adding the egg, bread crumbs, tomato sauce, onion, etc.

The young women on the show are very opposed, but it is clear they've never really thought they could be drafted. Because.
And sadly this is how most LIVs approach issues.

Doesn't work that way if you allow foreign investors to buy houses for potential ratholes or later citizenship. Canada found that out.
Housing is a sticky market in that a certain percentage is churn for job reasons but another percentage is essentially the tradeup buyer. Working from home plays havoc with the churn numbers and rising interest rates have cause the tradeup buyers to stay put for now. Doesn't work that way if you allow foreign investors to buy houses for potential ratholes or later citizenship. Canada found that out.
Housing is a sticky market in that a certain percentage is churn for job reasons but another percentage is essentially the tradeup buyer. Working from home plays havoc with the churn numbers and rising interest rates have cause the tradeup buyers to stay put for now. I always dispute that one. The "theories" about the evolutionary role of women were cogitated by some proto-Victorian dandies, who were to a man gheyblades. Skeletal evidence has shown that in some periods of time, women and men hunted together. The Couple predates The Clan. I have been known to hunt with a woman in this geologic era. And I liked it. Snotnose pukes will snicker, but they are fags.
Opinions and arguments about the draft or women in combat are fine, and I just about don't have a bitch in that fight, but you can't base your suppositions on a bunch of weirdo suppositions that are only branded "Science" by etiquette. I would assume a majority of the 400 billionaires who just treated a communist pig(Xi) like an incoming Caesar last week are globalist 'republicans'. They support Biden, or, at least the people they can pay off and control like RdS or Haley.
Since a majority of us has been losing $1K per month for the last 24 months(min) due to Biden/McConnell induced inflation by not fighting for a republican president, here you go, guys. Have fun.
We need to put aside any 'Burke' or Queensbury rules BS and unite around a guy that has made things right and will do so again. Who cares if he hires Omarosa; she was never treated seriously by him...
