Poll: Biden Lags Against All Major Republican Presidential Contenders

A Fox News poll. I don't trust Fox News polls... but they tend to lean Democratic, so maybe this is better news than it appears.

A new national poll released Wednesday showed President Biden trailing all three lead GOP presidential candidates: former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

According to the survey, conducted this month by Marquette Law School, Trump has an advantage of 52% to 48% over Biden among registered voters, while DeSantis holds a 51% to 49% advantage in a head-to-head matchup with the president. And Haley, who also previously served as governor of South Carolina, holds a 55% to 45% edge over Biden, the largest lead among Republican candidates.

The survey showed that Trump's edge over Biden has grown considerably since July, when Marquette's poll showed the pair tied at 50%. It further showed DeSantis' lead over Biden has remained consistent in that same time span.

And while all three of the top Republican candidates lead Biden, Trump is the only one who leads among Independent voters. Haley, meanwhile, has the largest support among Democrat voters compared to Trump and DeSantis.

You don't say.

Trump has an edge of 54% to 46% over Biden among independents. Biden leads DeSantis 53% to 47% and Haley 51% to 49% among Independents.

Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.

At the same time, Haley draws the support of 15% of Democrat voters, while Trump gets 11% and DeSantis gets 8%.

In addition, the Marquette poll showed Trump, for the first time this year, has taken a lead among registered voters who report being reluctant to choose either him or Biden. Trump leads Biden in that category by a margin of 53% to 47%, a big shift from Biden's 55% to 42% lead as recently as September.

The most recent poll comes as the White House continues to claim it is not concerned about polling, which continues to show Biden's approval rating falling and his 2024 prospects waning.

Fox News's poll also claims that Trump would beat the various Democrats who would likely run in Biden's place.

The same poll found that Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris 50% to 45%, California Gov. Gavin Newsom 49% to 45%, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer 48% to 46% and outgoing Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) 47% to 46% in hypothetical head-to-head matchups.

They didn't bother polling to see if DeSantis would beat them as well. I assume he would.

It should be noted that these polls do not include third party candidates like RFK Jr., who is expected to draw heavily from Trump, due to Trump's position on the vaccine as well as clinging to the choices he made to lock the country down.

Nikki Haley just met with Wall Street titans, including super-woke DEI/ESG champion Larry Fink of Black Rock, and the former head of Goldman Sachs. Another noted bastion of conservative values.

So she has that going for her, which is nice.

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley met with several Wall Street executives in a series of events Tuesday in her bid to be the Republican nominee for president, according to the Financial Times.

Haley attended a small meet-and-greet breakfast in New York where CEO of BlackRock Larry Fink was in attendance, followed by a fundraiser later in the day co-hosted by Gary Cohn, former president of Goldman Sachs, according to the FT. BlackRock has been criticized by conservatives in recent years for its adoption and promotion of Environment, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) policies, which aim to invest in companies based on their commitment to social and environmental causes.

I'm wondering when Nikki Haley will begin paying a price for demanding that the government get its paws on the names of anyone who wants to speak publicly:

He speaks there about Nikki Haley's support of government digital currency.

And there's Nikki, meeting with Wall Streeters.

4 Yeah and Biden got less votes then Trump in 2020 as well. Or at least votes from living, eligible citizens.

If he increases that margin of victory slightly in '24 that just means Biden is declared to have 90 or 100M votes instead.

So going in with that mindset -- what's the goal here? Get Biden to drop out? Is there even still time for that?

Get R's to rally behind Trump to then try to fuck him / us later?

41 In the video, Glen Beck says Haley also supports making public the algorithm.

I assume that refers to the algorithm used to promote or suppress content. This is also how individual news feed, product recommendations, search results, etc. are created.

THIS IS A GOOD IDEA and should not be thrown out with her stupid idea of banning anonymity.

I have been saying this for about over a decade - big tech propaganda monopolies have to be busted, and the way to do it is to make the platforms allow an interface where third parties can insert their own algorithm so people can tailor and customize the feed for the individual. Imagine a Christian feed that filters out all the perversions, for example.
This would be similar to Judge Greene forcing AT&T to allow 3rd party access for long distance service.

I think the first half of that (the big, beautiful vaccine that saved a gazillion lives portion) is a fair criticism.

But Trump didn't lock the country down, as was demonstrated by DeSantis, Noem, Bill Lee and eventually others.

Lockdown decisions were mainly the result of state and local governments. Were they enabled by the SoE and Trump's Head of the CDC? Yes.

But I don't think it is reasonable to say "Trump locked down the country".

67 In seriousness, though, I don't see the relevance (but then, I never do). We're a year out from the election and the first primary is still a couple of months away. Polling is generally unreliable and gets worse as distance from the election increases.

Insofar as public polling outfits have any value at all at any point, there is less than no value to it this far out. As usual, I assume this is polling for the purpose of moving opinion or changing behavior, not polling for the purpose of measuring anything. The parties do that for themselves for a reason.

It's gonna suck for me when the time comes. I work in high tech, and tech sector layoffs are *not* over. I think they've probably barely begun. If they hit me this time around - I put the odds at 50/50 right now - I am resigned to and prepared for it to take a year to find reliable work again.

Yes. Some of them can't because they're truly poor. I'd guess - but it's nothing more than that - that it's about a quarter of people or so who genuinely cannot save because they're actually broke. The second qartile or the third quintile, though, could - and I hope they see which way the wind is blowing and are working on it.

If you want something ground into the brains of the listenership, make it a big and infuriating news item on a Thursday, it has four days of coverage.

The FOX poll is one of 5 or so that came out yesterday, and all of them show an obvious drop for Biden since the Hamas terror attack on 10/7.

As I've posted (forgive me for repeating), I suspect the startling drop is due to general unease about Biden as C-in-C in such dangerous times, & 2) American Muslim voters doing a complete 180 on Biden.

There's more than that, and Trump needs to speak to it and explain why it won't every be a consideration again (e.g., what he learned and why he was wrong). It is true that he didn't lock anything down directly, but he did two other related things that were deeply damaging.

First, he allowed the lockdown behavior to continue within the FedGov. He should have called the office workers back and ended COVID restrictions (masking, etc. - all of it) on federal property and for aviation and rail. He didn't.

Second, he used his position to lambaste governors who *did* do the right thing and chose to end the madness the earliest.

...For decades Democrats have relied on support among black and Hispanic voters, but a meaningful number are abandoning the party. In the next 12 months a stumble by either candidate could determine the race—and thus upend the world...Democracy is in trouble at home. Mr Trump’s claim to have won the election in 2020 was more than a lie: it was a cynical bet that he could manipulate and intimidate his compatriots, and it has worked.

America also faces growing hostility abroad, challenged by Russia in Ukraine, by Iran and its allied militias in the Middle East and by China across the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea.

Because maga Republicans have been planning his second term for months, Trump 2 would be more organised than Trump 1. True believers would occupy the most important positions. Mr Trump would be unbound in his pursuit of retribution, economic protectionism and theatrically extravagant deals.

150 135 Trump did what he thought he had to do to get reelected.

That's the excuse, and the problem.

He could have been Trump The Great, had he said "fuck the second term, I have to do what is right for the country."

Instead he said "It is vital that I get a second term to do all the things I failed at in the first."

He still may be the best man for 2024, but that flaw has to be acknowledged. He did not believe in what he was doing, but he did it anyway.

So yeah, after initially saying "we'll be open by Easter," and then having the whole of corporate media and online chatter saying he was telling people to drink bleach or whatever, he was effectively silenced except to be a cheerleader in chief.

Looking that up, seems to be DeSantis started that in September, well after Trump was strongly pushing against general lockdowns.

No.

The idea that government discretion or authority should be at its maximum whenever we are least well-informed is a recipe for tyranny. On the contrary, if the government cannot justify an action with data, it should not be taking it. "We have to do something," "we must act now," "it's an emergency" without real information is how the bill of rights gets done in.

Yeah, he was under enormous pressure to tank the US economy. In fact, he held up pretty well and it is easy to say "he should have fired,..." but at the moment it is very difficult since he was not an epidemiologist or deeply knowledgeable about any of what he needed to know and ALL the "experts" were lying.

222 207 Trump's main error, IMO, on COVID was that he didn't trust his instincts.

His initial knee jerk was to call the whole thing a hoax, which was greeted with great derision among his critics.

But in the end, he succumbed to the siren song of the 'experts', which, if I'm fair, I probably would have fallen prey to as well with people whispering "Mr. President, 50 million may die if you're wrong" in my ear.
Posted by: Bitter Clinger at November 17, 2023 02:54 PM (gmL84)

There was also the international stampede going on. While Trump avoided being the source of lockdown orders and a bunch of emergency expansion of executive powers, as had been originally demanded by the media, it seems like a tough position to not one's views marginalized. Like HCQ and the bleach drinking bit.

A growing number of liberal Democrats that I know who would never vote for Trump ‘over their dead body’ have recently told me that if the election were held today and the choice was Biden or Trump, they would vote for Trump.

356 The Ceasefire Rabbis did a Torah reading. The reader came a part of the Torah that talked about the land being given to the avos and literally whispered that part. Then during the translation, they said, "I'm skipping a lot of parts here" and didn't translate that part.

Sure. That poor young woman lying dead in the back of a pickup nude wasn't raped. Sure. And that other young woman pulled out of the back of a XUV who had blood stains where her body orifices are wasn't touched either.

Sarah Jama and every other denialists are as guilty as the Hamasshole animals.

We should all be Caucasians and get it over with.

I look forward to watching this on the YT. This is still a proof of concept flight - which they aren't trying to recover the booster or the starship. But think about it - 34 rocket engines firing at launch. That's what you call a BFR.

361 Song from Sunday School: ... all the children in the world. Red and yellow, black and white they are precious in his sight...

And, yes, Pluto was a planet then. But when asked as kids, we'd simply identify ourselves as Americans. Neighborhoods would be broken down further into Jewish, Polish, Black, Chinese, etc.

363 I don't think I was clear above.

Our current models all assume that if you are exposed, you will become infected. There is a little leeway there but not much.

It turns out that exposure does not mean detectable infection. The reason people don't get infected is because the genetics of the person, or virus, are incompatible in some way, or because their immune system handled it without leaving a measurable trace in the blood. So for each wave only a few percent of population got infected but everyone was exposed. Over and over.

Did you notice, Overstock bought what was left of Bed Bath et Beyond, just to get the name? They are trumpeting that new name all over. I liked Overstock, and laughed up the sleeve at Bed Bath, so there are parts of marketing I shall never understand.

367 When the entire crowd at the GOP "debate" shouts "Trump! Trump! Trump!" and Vivek rips Ronna Romney and Kristen Welker new lady-like assholes, the thought that RFK Jr. is going to steal Trump votes because Trump disrupted the Deep State's biggest weapon, near-permanent Western Civilization shutdown by releasing the "vaccine" early, I stand confident that polling makes absolutely no sense, and only election fraud remains to keep Trump from getting 100 million plus popular votes, and well over 350, maybe even every state (except for DC) electoral votes.

It seems too complex and extremely extensive for me. I'm having a look ahead on your next post, I'll attempt to get the hold of it!
