Get Out the Vote!

End Wokeness
@EndWokeness

Today is a Election Day. VOTE.

Here are some of the important races that may decide the fate of our country:

Pennsylvania. There is a vacant Supreme Court seat that could end up being the tie-breaker for 2024 election cases. The GOP candidate wants to restrict mail-ins. 2024 election board will be voted on today. An important DA race in Pittsburgh.

Virginia. Control of the state legislature is up for grabs. Youngkin needs a GOP majority in order to pass new laws, including election integrity measures.

Kentucky. Republicans are seeking to oust Governor Andy Beshear. A solid Republican named Daniel Cameron is running against him.

Given Mitch McConnell's health issues, it is critical for Republicans to take the KY governorship.

Mississippi. A surprisingly tight race for the governorship. Dems are going all out. Pro-criminal DA up for election.

Ohio. Ballot measure, abortion. Vote NO on Issue 1. Dems want to enshrine late abortion into the State Constitution. This will also be used for gender mutilations on minors.

Iowa. Republicans are hoping to flip several crucial school board races.

Many other important races. Get out and vote. This is not just about 2023. A lot of this will determine 2024 and beyond.

Vote, because it will make this saggy-titty cuck cry:

That guy's not just a cuck. That guy is on his stud's dick more than his "wife" is. He's the guy who yells "Sharesies!" after his bull nuts.

I guess they just knocked over the plants on their way to my door.

Voted straight GOP at 7:05 AM here.

If this commie wins for Allegheny County Executive, the destruction of Pittsburgh will be complete.

The Mayor is already a BLM stooge, the police chief is a gay activist, and if they get the county executive and DA in, Pittsburgh will turn into Detroit East within 2 years.

There were Democrats handing out sample ballots, but not Republicans.

There were Democrats providing candidate information, but not Republicans.

The town two towns over is having a hotly contested school board election *and* a bond vote to heavily renovate the public schools. Voted for Trump twice with a 20 point margin both times. Yet virtually all local polls are leftists. Because when it comes to local elections nobody gives a shit. Local stuff is always off year when nobody pays attention. Turnout is 30%, on a good day. And because it’s so low the small minority of leftists get their people out in huge numbers and win. They control the city and the school board.

It’s maddening to watch it play out year after year this way.

90 A tranny reporter for the Seattle alt-weekly continues his series on the dozens of trannys fleeing fascist red states for progressive, safe blue states. The new Underground Railroad.

This week's tranny lived in fascist Texas (Austin, of course), but Texas is banning gay pornography in schools, males competing in women's sports, minors receiving puberty blockers and hormones, and much else. Besides, there's a guy who lives a few blocks from him with Trump stickers on his car.

Obviously, the anti-trans lynch mobs are next.

He lives in fear in Austin:

"But I’m scared of being personally assaulted by a stranger who sees the trans flag on my house.”

Because nothing says "I'm terrified that I might be attacked" like flying a trans flag on your house.

He's moved to a safe, trendy neighborhood in Portland, of course.

Suggestion: fly a Trump flag on your house in your safe, nonjudgmental, affirming Portland neighborhood, and see what happens to you.

and I just laughed to myself for a couple minutes like a loon

251 50 Here in Maine we're voting on two ballot referendums:

1) Should we dissolve the two privately held power companies and put the electrical grid into the hands of a public co-op. And ...

2) Do we take out a bond to buy out the privately help power companies to form a public power co-op?

The geniuses haven't figured out what happens if the first passes and the second fails.

God help us if they pass. Glad I've got a whole home standby generator.

The candidates running for the various offices in Las Cruces, NM consist of career office holders who are retread leftists, and fake republicans with a couple of exceptions. One mayoral candidate actually wants to lock up the serial criminals that keep getting let go by a government system that specializes in passing responsibility from one entity to the next; plus she and her husband unsuccessfully tried to build a strip club in town about 15 years ago. Another candidate, in violation of City regulations about holding two public offices at the same time is trying to be mayor while being the county appraiser. Her response to this blatant violation is try and stop me. Add in ranked choice voting that is rigged to re-elect the incumbents you are left going "we are so fucked."

VA: In the Senate, Democrats may have a slight edge, as they appear favored in 19 seats to the GOP's 16. The House map looks closer to a pure toss-up, with fewer than 10 seats likely to decide things.

MS Guv: Reeves probably has the upper hand heading into Tuesday.

PA SC: There isn't much polling on this race — the only survey we found showed McCaffery in the lead 42 percent to 36 percent, with plenty of voters undecided.

It's almost like polling is a giant scam that can't predict anything all that well, and polling firms are increasingly resorting to "dead heat" conclusions in high profile races because they have no idea what's going to happen.

I must remind people of the LA governor race from a month or so ago. it was dead heat in the polls. The Republican won by 15 points, so much that the weird LA law that says if a candidate wins a majority in the first round, then the election is all over and that majority winner is the governor. That happened, and every single poll said it was a dead heat with the R and D polling in the high 30s/low 40s.

Maher also believes Russia swayed the election with a budget of $100K and a few lame memes.

335 They sent out unsolicited ballots for some vote here about bonds. I'm not on the early voter list, but the recorder decided he doesn't GAF about what voters want anymore. He basically runs around bragging about cheating us out of our votes, anyway.

Bonds always pass. Always. I don't think this state has ever voted down an increase in spending or taxes, aside from saying no to extending a temporary sales tax increase that the (R) governor championed the first time (because the teachers needed some extra dough, or rather, the administrations needed it).

TLDR, sent in my early vote ages ago and it probably got tossed into the circular filing bin. Voting here is meaningless, what with the outright, bold, in your face cheating going on. I'm not going to the polls again, it's not worth the effort and I trust mail-in voting the way I trust a five month old open bottle of milk.

341 Study: EV’s are Cars for People Who Don’t Need to Drive (as much)

If federal agencies are overestimating true mileage, that results in overestimating the emissions savings.

Additionally, the researchers say it’s also important to consider that making a battery-powered EV typically results in higher upfront emissions compared to making a gasoline vehicle. Helveston and the research team says it will take longer to compensate for those higher up-front emissions if people aren’t driving the EV enough.

It is a noxious "sport" that gained popularity during the pandemic since folks could go outside and thwock a whiffle ball back and forth with other people not in their "quarantine pod" and feel virtuous. The freaking noise began at our old neighborhood at 7:00 A.M. and continued non-stop until 9:30 or so at night. Sitting outside to enjoy a pleasant evening stopped when pickle ball became a thing, because of the constant pop of the ball being it, and dang that sound carries.

Interestingly, healthcare insurers are seeing an huge uptick in claims amongst the senior population due to pickleball injuries: Knees / Hips / Ligament and Tendon injuries due to unconditioned "athletes" re-engaging in sports they're not ready for.

420 Minor observation here from the Magnolia State - the gubernatorial race here is indeed up in the air, as noted above, but it has surprisingly little to do with party or ideological factors. The problem can be summed up in two words: Tate Reeves. He is so highly detested across all political divides that it would have been far better to find another GOP nominee even with all the attendant risks that poses.

Mississippi hasn't had a governor this unpopular in decades - and that's including Haley Barbour, who pardoned convicted killers, one of whom took that as an opportunity to add another murder to his list. Trump endorsed Reeves late in the race (as in literally yesterday) but that doesn't seem to be enough to win over conservative voters.

I've seen some really good pickleball players and some Senior citizens who play the game at half speed. There's a Black dude at my "Y" mid-30's maybe, in good shape who has to wipe the sweat off the top of his shaved head after a doubles match. He wants to go up against me as he's seen me play. I'm holding him off till I get my eyes fixed.

Pickleball is a lot like tennis. A lot of sudden starts and stops and direction changes. The court size is smaller of course, but the intensity level depends on the condition of the players. The senior citizens aren't gonna go after the deep lob or worry about the shot that's on the line. The good players do.

For a little more then twenty bucks on Amazon you can buy two paddles, four balls, and carrying case. That's all you need. Except maybe cardiac defibrillation after the first game.

460 Jonah - you're quite right that a major scandal is what it takes to defeat a GOP contender in the Deep South. There is a controversy regarding the degree to which Tate Reeves was part and parcel of an unlawful diversion of funds that took place under the previous governor, Phil Bryant, and also involved Brett Favre, but it's unclear if that is playing into people's decision making at the polls.

And yeah, many of the electorate are opting for Brandon Presley, even with all of his negatives. Reeves will probably win in any event, but it will be by a tight margin that is anything but a mandate.
