More here

Scenes from Switzerland, starting with a lovely lake.

Top of the world.

Great view of a waterfall -- traveling along the river down to the fall itself.

Waterfalls and whirlpools in Iceland.

A stray mama dog shows her appreciation for a stranger giving food to her puppies.

To the quicker goes the spoils.

Mama bear tries to get her four cubs across the road, but one's too afraid.

Animals just being silly.

This dog stopped a dust devil. What a hero.

This dog stopped a soccer game. What an even bigger hero!

I'd like to pitch you a new show: Dog Bus: The Bus for Dogs.

Dog tries to help his cat friend over a safety-gate.

Dog is excited to meet his new baby (human) brother.

Nuzzling with a wolf.

This dog nooded.

You’ve just described Denver. Possibly the entire state of Colorado. Beautiful, but major suckage to drive across, particularly in winter. I always tried to time it by going through in the middle of the night.

For years, decades even, Denver had this weird permanent construction zone, there was a “zig zag” deal with the I-80 interstate.

I'm sure that's true. Point being though, the guy who was President, the one who makes the call as to whether the military goes to war or doesn't, was basically saying "these evil pricks were planning to go to war without my say-so."

So all along, this question about what was or wasn't classified, about what Trump had a right to have or didn't, is damn near entirely beside the point.

It's that we have a military that starts wars, or tries to, because it can.

US 287 between Fort Collins & Laramie is a gorgeous drive... if the road is clear... Every so often a car or van full of UW kids gets killed on 287.

ATL is the worst place I've ever driven by far, and I have driven a few times in southern Cal. Oddly enough, sometimes it's better to go through town on 20 or 85/75 than going around on 285.

141 About 50 miles from where I I’ve there was a 2 lane bridge built over the freeway. No exits or on-ramps, just a bridge. The freeway is your basic 4 lane interstate, 2 lanes going each way. And the bridge connected to existing streets on either side of the interstate. About as simple as it gets.

It took almost 2 years to build it. Lol. I can only imagine how many now show no work contractors they had on the payroll, all courtesy of tax payers.

Multiply this by thousands of similar projects all over the country. And it’s why it seems like construction is never ending. And still the left talks about how we need more “infrastructure” spending.

I believe it.

The worst thing that ever happened while driving in NYC was I turned a corner and landed in a massive deep pothole that I had to be towed out of.

Bent the lower control arm and rim on an RX7.

Not fun to repair.

But unlike today, The South Bronx was full of parts dealers and you could get stolen parts galore.

189 Construction crews purposely make it as inconvenient as possible for drivers. Partly because they are union thugs who like to inflict pain on others.

But mainly because then politicians can sell the idea of more construction. Hey there tax payer driver, doesn’t it sick how bad traffic is? Well,
vote for his $1b bond and we’ll build more roads. Which then funnels more money to the union thugs who happen to work for companies owned by the brothers in law of said politicians. It’s all an op and a grift.

The Magyars acquitted themselves far, far better than the Western Europeans other than the Danes. Their alliance with Germany was more geopolitical convenience than ideological conviction. There was a native Hungarian Nazi government but the Germans had to grab the Hungarian Jews themselves after that government fell and the Germans occupied the country.

the Mediterranean diet was established by Ancel Keyes who came to the conclusion by studying Greek Orthodox faithful during their fast periods that peasants in a country in a full post war recession during times when they were forbidden to eat meat represented their whole-life diet and that was why they didn't suffer as many heart attacks as a population that ate a lot of refined sugar and smoked multiple packs of cigarettes a day.

Because science.

227 I do a variant of the Mediterranean diet, not as some weight loss regimen, but because that is how I like to eat. Most Americans are not going to spend a fortune trying to exactly replicate Italy, Crete, and Tunisia, when was the last time you bought Scampi?

I don’t get how people could say the Mediterranean diet is awful, it has wine, Olive oil, and lots of fresh foods. The diet bans virtually nothing, it just emphasizes fresh vegetables, fruits, etc. wine and olive oil aside, the real key is fresh vegetables cooked in an interesting way. This is where the old school American diet let us down, most people don’t like vegetables because they’re cooked so non-creatively almost like they are destined to taste like crap.

The biggest flaw with a Mediterranean diet is, it is an attempt to boil down the longevity of people from Crete, Sardinia, etc. to only the foods they eat, there’s more to it than that.
