Outside of that, the remakes that I find the most interesting are about transitioning cultural spaces like The Departed versus Infernal Affairs. But, it's mostly about property recognition and has just gotten worse since the 90s. I'm watching Joe Dante's films now, and Innerspace is essentially just Fantastic Voyage, Again, but with new characters and conflicts, it can stand on its own. Granted, Innerspace didn't light the box office on fire, but it lasted a whole lot better than something like The Jackal. He talks about jus in bello v jus ad bello - having the right in the prosecution of war v having it in the purpose for the war.
