Law students: You may be surprised to learn that the law schools are filled with terrorist supporters. We're not surprised at all.

As law students who have witnessed firsthand the ideological takeover of American universities, we aren't surprised -- not by the statements or administrations' slow response to them.
Admissions offices have prioritized demonstrations of activism from potential applicants, and professors teach power struggle among groups as the primary analytical lens through which to view the world.
The end result is an ideological pressure cooker where students, armed with misapplied academic theory, support terrorist groups and expect to be praised for their views.
Make no mistake, students' behavior should not be excused -- it is repugnant and paints a frightening image of the future of academic institutions and our country.

But surely these statements exist because those making them felt confident their views would be accepted, if not praised.
Those outside academia should know these students are likely shocked that wider society is not applauding their actions.
They don't see these statements as particularly heterodox -- in fact, the opposite.
Why?
Schools have, by their own design, become devoid of free inquiry and exchange, adopting instead a homogenous set of viewpoints, many of them extremely radical.

An elite American institution's average student body is no longer a representative sample of adolescents with top GPAs and test scores.
For years, admissions offices across the country have deliberately prioritized passion for social justice and activism in potential applicants -- to their detriment.
While community engagement is a worthwhile pursuit, at 17 years old, zealous activism for any complex cause is too often accompanied by a lack of intellectual curiosity and misplaced confidence in one's point of view.
Have you changed your mind on fundamental issues since the age of 17? We sure have.
Yet increasingly, these young "activists" have neither the opportunity nor the incentive to allow their thinking to evolve.
Their views are rewarded by admissions offices around the country, then encouraged and intensified by like-minded students and faculty members.
The cycle repeats in law schools.

I will admit, I try to figure people out, so it kind of fascinates me.

I 'think' that this is just the ultimate form of the illuminati, people in power, 1%er, rich republican, fascist, Dad thing. I'm surrounded by these types, so I think I'm qualified to answer.

They see themselves as ethnic jews, not religious jews. And they look down on all religious people, including religious jews (it's mutual. One of my coworkers basically got beat with a palm branch or some shit for ignoring an orthodox Jew yelling at him in Yiddish to get on the mitzvah bus around some holiday).

I don't think it's fair to say they aren't proud of their heritage, they just look down on all religious people with contempt.

Not sure why I took him into my office to correct the behaviour because everybody heard me anyway. Drill Sergeant like. Nose to nose. One wrong move on his part during that would have gotten him beaten severely. I was beyond pissed.

We all cool now though. He don't do that shit anymore. Actually thought it was how you run people which is what stopped the tirade I was on. He really didn't know. It was how he had always been treated. I guess he did it a lot and a bunch of workes came over and thanked me for standing up for them. He changed though, I made him a better person and sort of, almost consider him a friend now.

I don't think it's that. Not entirely, at least. I suspect most gun nuts are truly invested in the republic and very law abiding, and they know that you do things with words until you can't do things with words, but you try your very best to do things with words. Because once that switch is flipped everything changes for the worse.

And that's what the (D)s have been trying so hard to get going for the last 4-8 years or so, too. It's been obvious to everyone paying attention, and it has probably made people even more careful. We're very fortunate no one has kicked off events for us, and I'm pretty shocked at that. I can only figure they know they've got 2024 in the bag.

I do worry greatly about 2024-2030, though. 2030 especially. That date is meaningful to them, and they intend to restrict us as much as possible. Savings worthless, energy unavailable, and even more bans and lockdowns for Global Warming? That's going to ramp up tensions even more.

Looking at the IWI website the modern Uzi Pro is teensy tiny. My priority would be on concealed carry / defense and controllability (sp?), and a little self defense package like that with a brace capable of tucking into a backpack would be ideal.

Too big. The advantage of the Uzi is the grip houses the magazine. Plus I prefer the MPX overall, but it's definitely a nice gun and I'd keep one if I won it in a raffle.

I do like that the B&T offers the choice of a Glock magwell IIRC, though.

Yeah, that's my experience with the MPX, Banshee, etc. More real estate I'm guessing, although I've never shot an Uzi. The B&T, MPX, MP5, etc. stuff is fantastic all-around and would probably be my go-to compromise weapon if I had to choose only one.

I'm thinking tiny braced pistol, with emphasis on pistol. Mainly a backpack piece. I saw that there's a company making a .45 MAC-10 tribute for about $500 that's really tempting, too.

I've got a buddy with one of the Taurus revolvers that shoots .410 (and I think it's rated for .45 Colt, too). The Judge, maybe?

227 My son bought his first CC. A Springfield Hellfire Pro, I believe. I don't know anything about that kind of stuff. Though I did recommend the Sig P365 (?), based on stuff I've read here. I did strongly encourage him to take a safety course.

He just finished college. Interesting that many of his college friends all have made similar purchases.

Haven't kept up with their line, but I'm betting this is a souped-up Hellcat. Those are great pieces and he won't regret it. FWIW it's the other pistol I considered to the P365XL but the Sig ergonomics fit my hands a bit better.
