My personal issue with these escalating endless wars is:
1) I don't trust our deep state / politicians to be doing anything in our best interest, nor do I trust them, and in a post-covid world, I am more convinced than ever that they lie and spread convincing propaganda daily. I highly suspect that these wars are (and yes, I know this was a left wing talking point, I'm aware) truly just about getting politicians / deep staters and those in their inner circle rich.
2) There's also small matter that our leaders are fucking retards, and have complete disregard for how many people die in these wars (including american soldiers and our allies), and at some point, our chickens will come home to roost on this. Whether that's with China, Russia, Arabs -- who knows? But this cannot go on forever.

My theory is that the teachers' unions have been allowed to be the punching bags for promising state level GOP politicians for a few decades. The national organizations never really cared about them at that level, and it allowed people like Walker and Christie to gain purchase with Republican base voters. That sense of independence was immediately snuffed out once they actually reached the national stage, though.
That may not remain the same now with Randi Weingarten having used covid to climb the power structure within the left.

Yes, the US has long prided itself on not targeting civilians in war, avoiding civilian causalities, and not targeting hospitals or medics.
Much of the western world is similar.
We have not always lived up to those lofty goals, obviously. From WWII, the British and Americans firebombed the shit of Dresden, and the Americans dropped two nuclear bombs on civilian targets in Japan.
But generally speaking, yes, we do our best to not bomb hospitals.

I highly suspect that these wars are (and yes, I know this was a left wing talking point, I'm aware) truly just about getting politicians / deep staters and those in their inner circle rich.
2) There's also small matter that our leaders are fucking retards, and have complete disregard for how many people die in these wars (including american soldiers and our allies), and at some point, our chickens will come home to roost on this. Whether that's with China, Russia, Arabs -- who knows? But this cannot go on forever.

I'm not sure that radical thinking is unusual to this time amongst college aged individuals.
At least during my lifetime, this has always been the case. But college kids never really had any power, so it didn't matter.
What's new about this era is that they are backed by the government, financial and corporate structures.
So instead of getting new hairstyles, fashion trends and music, we get faggots buttfucking in front of kindergartners with a banner supporting sponsored by Target and Bud Light.
How exactly do you expect to doxx them and make them unemployable by corporations when their insanity is sponsored by corporations and backed by law?

I'm generally in agreement with many of RFK's positions too.
It's his solutions that cause more trouble, in that he's an unrepentant Big Government guy. Just like his daddy, he identified many of the problems in this country, then took a blind eye to how government created many of them, or at least made them worse.
The ol' "if we just trust government to fix this, everything will be alright" delusion that was ALWAYS the major mistake liberals made.
Now, leftists are different. But liberals just can't quite bring themselves to realize government needs to get out of the way, and so even when people like RFK Jr. are right about things, they end up wrong.
