THE MORNING RANT - Border Policy Disgrace: Body of a 14-Year-Old Guatemalan Girl Found Dumped in a Rural Tennessee Parking Lot
A few days ago, the body of a young teenage girl was found dumped in the parking lot of a small-town Tennessee restaurant along the interstate between Nashville and Atlanta. She was from Guatemala according to the local Sheriff.
This is the embodiment of Joe Biden’s immigration and border policies. While we don’t know what horrors this girl endured on US soil before her death, her ordeal almost certainly occurred because the President of the United States and his Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, have allowed and incentivized it to happen. Trafficking of foreign children on US soil is unthinkably awful, but it is happening. While we don’t yet know the exact circumstances regarding this girl, it’s probably a safe assumption that her body wasn’t left in that parking lot by loving parents. “Deceased Female Found in the Parking Lot of Monteagle Restaurant” [10/03/2023]A deceased female was located in the parking lot of Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant in Monteagle on Sunday morning. The restaurant is located near the Marion/Franklin County line. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released the following information on Sunday afternoon. “At the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI special agents are working alongside the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of a female whose body was found in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 1200 block of West Main Street in Monteagle on Sunday morning.” The TBI added that the body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Nashville for an autopsy.Information is coming out slowly. Early reports said she was from Guatemala, and the TBI has now identified her as a 14-year-old named Nahomi Hernandez. “Update: TBI identifies teen found dead in Marion County restaurant parking lot” [WTVC – TV 10/11/2023]

Like all capital goods, illegal aliens have a paper trail. Somewhere, someone released Hernandez to her pimp. That organization, if it can be located, knows who she is and where she was released. That organization knows where she came from - where the organization itself bought her. The organization that sold her to the penultimate organization knows where she came from, too. This continues all the way back to the cartel operator in Guatemalan village that either bought her from her parents or underwrote her transit El Norte with her parents, who would later sell her to pay the fare.
There is a paper trail on most of the people flooding over the border, it's just hard to find. Easiest to start and the final point and work your way back, but always difficult. But the paper trail is there, because everyone along the line expects to get paid for the goods they're either providing or transporting.

Two things:
1. It might have been stolen, or it might have been given to them by UNRWA. In either case, it is now in Hamas' hands and shows you the downside to a "humanitarian corridor" to Gaza. Just like "humanitarian aid" to various warlord domains in Africa, the good just end up directly in the hands of the warlords, one way or another.
2. That fuel and those supplies will not power the desalination operation, nor will it treat "civilian" wounded. It will power Hamas command bunkers and comms, and will be used to patch up Hamas guerrillas.

When my paternal grandfather passed at 93, I took comfort in hearing my dad say that there was nothing left unsaid between them (in a positive way). Doesn't make it easier but I know there's peace in that.

Little update about the airport experience. On top of what happened Friday, today when I first tried to check in, they almost refused me (first person legit said “I can’t check you in today”
& said that my documents are marked by the department of homeland security. I finally got approval but only with additional security, exact same as on Friday.
She's an open supporter of Assad, Hamas, and Hezbollah, and her only two Tweets on October 7th were to excuse the Hamas death squads by saying that Israelis killed Palestinians all the time.
I'm just astonished that someone in the Federal government is paying attention to this - after all, she's not a MAGA terrorist.

I use I-81 to travel Virginia, Tennessee. I've been impressed for years by the presence of State Police &/or other state workers stationed in and around TN rest stops, in addition to an abundance of cameras, in an effort to halt human trafficking. Additionally, there's also prominent signage warning of human trafficking and offering immediate assistance to any and all who use facilities.
Conversely, there also have been sickening cases of women in Pennsylvania & other Mid-Atlantic states being involved with pornography of innocents, connected to areas around Memphis and Nashville. (Surely, it's not just the Mid-Atlantic region involved.) Women, now more than ever it seems, can't be excluded from involvement in human trafficking & travelers need to keep a wary eye for any potential.

The woman that cuts my hair has a sign up alerting patrons to watch out for human trafficking. She has to attend a training seminar every 2 years on the subject. I asked why and she said it's because the nail salons and massage parlors are havens for trafficking.

I got very lucky when it happened to me. I bought my house and as it was moving toward closing, the landlord sold the property. When it was time to move, it was a couple of months later and a couple of months before the lease was up. I wrote to the new landlord to negotiate terms to break the lease. I was prepared to pay it out, and had reserved against that.
We settled on one month's rent (the outstanding lease was three months) and he also returned my entire security deposit. I did some damage to the place and expected to lose it.
I am sure that he was planning to kick me out anyway and renovate the place to move it up-market and that I ended up doing him a favor by getting out in spring instead of summer, so he made it easy on me. I dodged a bullet and so did he...

It's funny to go to the cities of NC and see a bunch of Hispanics, and then when you get closer to the coasts (and I assume resort communities far inside the states) you see Europeans. 3rd grade was nothing. 10th grade sucked.
He's moving in the middle of 4th. It'll be hard for a bit, but I think he'll make friends quickly. I think it'll help that we'll apparently be some of the richer parents around.

That stinks and I'm sorry. Probably the best part is that he is so young and is still at that point where there's no cliques or close social groups, only friends.
One of my favorite memories was going up to Pennsylvania to somewhere we'd never been before, and we stopped to have a picnic at a park. Our son got out of the car and asked if he could go play with his friends before he ate. That all begins to change somewhere around 8-10 years old or so, but peer relationships sure are neat up until then.

I have a 57 Chevy I restored a number of years ago. The cars are pretty to look at and fun to drive. But, they are literal death traps, even at low speeds. That steering column on ALL those older cars usually traveled right up into your head in a left side to left side head on collision. My 70 Chevelle (bought new by me in May 1970) has a collapsible column, along with padded dash and seat belts/shoulder harness. Those were optional in 1957 and later, but very few people ordered them.

I think what's going to help is that his best friend right now isn't even in any of his classes. They don't share a lunch time or a recess time, and they go to the same school (they were in the same class last year).
That's his strongest personal connection in the area, and it's already kind of severed. He did have a final playdate with the kid last week.

It is both appropriate and not surprising that you and Dolley are both concerned about the feelings and adjustment of your boys. Kids are precious and we want them to have a "future with hope." I moved when I was six going on seven. I remember it being hard but I got to like my new home and I made friends. They will too. I expect if you're moving to a city or close by they will have Karate too.
I would find it hard going from a church which I loved.

I wish the Mid-Atlantic states were as diligent even on turnpikes and other well traveled roads.
However, imo more can be done and the entire country needs to get involved, for starters posting relevant signage in many languages at rest areas, chain fast food and restaurants, inexpensive diners and dollar stores and reminding workers and customers to keep a watchful eye too.

Worse. Neither would survive. I've seen those types of collisions back when I was a kid. A friend's dad owned a towing firm that had the contract for a section of Routes 1, 9 35 and the Garden State Parkway that ran though Woodbridge Twp. He would tow these cars into his holding lot and the destruction was unreal. Most usually ended up with a fatality.

My father's '58 Impala had a metal dash, and no belts. I think the '66 Super Sport had safety belts, but he ignored them and tucked them under the seats.
From the day I learned to drive, I've always buckled my belt or harness. It would feel alien not to. And I know too much about inertia to think I could "brace myself" in case of a crash. ("Without that belt, in a crash you might be thrown clear!" "Yeah, and I might land right on my head, too.")

It had to be a fastback. In 1971 they did have a sportback. Not sure what they mean by that but the 71s were much bigger overall compared to the late 60s models. Which ever it was, there was no one sitting in the passenger seat.

Actually, the story I had gotten from the Tri-Five Chevy forum I belong to was the car was purchased from a older lady and was totally intact. Not from a junk yard. Again, I own a 57 that I did a frame off restoration on. Those cars are NOT as strong as many surmise. Quite a few guys from classic car clubs have been involved in accidents with newer vehicles and the results were the same as that crash test.

2. He did the spot for a local public health department video
3. The spot was over three years ago, when he was five, before the COVID vaccines were available
4. No autopsy results have been made available.
Were doctors (including his father and grandparents) pushing for widespread administration of the vaxx? Yes. Does the vaxx cause myocarditis? Yes. Should decision to get the vaxx be voluntary? Absolutely!
But this kid is not your smoking gun.
