I'm lolling at the idea that that's what
the City of Shit looks like now, but whatever,
nice image!

Dog is just a little bit jealous of the new puppy.

Amazing mimicry.

If you're not cheating you're not trying.

They didn't have a tow chain, so they improvised.

"Horseshoe Theory" states that sometimes you can be So Manly you just cross over the boundary and wind up pretty gay.

This is like that Star Trek episode.

The yellow dog saw a Trump/DeSantis thread brewing and just peaced out.

Buckle up, pup!

Oh boy, now cats are teaching other animals to pounce...

Sliding into Friday like...

I choose to believe:

I never saw The Never-Ending Story but I imagine it was pretty much just this:

86 44 I appreciate your opinion. Personally I hate that movie. The first half was great, but the second was America hating tripe in my opinion.

I would suggest Jerimiah Johnson, for one. Even the Indians in the last of the Mohicans were better.,I am not taking away from Dances with wolves as art. Our modern movies are devoid as art. But it is the Platoon of the prarie. Ask professional soldiers what they thought of Platoon.

I get opinions and experiences vary. But unlike most, I have two remembrances from the movie Platoon. My guess is most have no remembrances.

The first was in Army basic training. My drill sergeant told us he just saw Full Metal Jacket, and it made Platoon a “pussy movie”. That is an exact quote.

The second anecdote was seeing Platoon with my own family. I defended something about it, I was a kid. My dad said “You were not there!” That pretty much ended the discussion.

"But I've always heard that Israel can field a large army of reservists--for only short periods of time."

The modern State of Israel is not big enough and does not have the human reserves willing to do attrition. The numbers are not there. Neither is the will. Absent massive Western support...

I remain surprised at the American Right who think Israel is some Tribal Block it is not. I anticipate a lot of Israelis bailing into Ukraine, where Z and others like that horrible Randi are setting up 'Chabad' Shop and making Russia justifiably nervous.

222 I worked at a company that opened an Indian facility. We needed to time a bunch of things for when they'd get one of the machines set up in India.

So the Project managers kept tight track of how everything was coming and everyone was on schedule. The machine arrived in India, the global supply chain was set up, the marketing campaign was ready and so on...

Except...the Indian team was behind on testing the machine. They kept saying they were going to do it, they just...didn't get to it the day before, but definitely tomorrow.

Finally the lead project manager demanded a picture of the room where the machine was supposed to be installed and...it was empty. Turns out the machine was held up in customs, not the Indian team's fault BUT it was so ingrained in them they could not admit to being behind they just lied instead figuring they'd work as much overtime as they need once the machine came in.

A good chunk of the natives were wiped out by disease brought by French and English fisherman before the settlement attempts. That's why the Pilgrims were welcomed at first, the Indians there needed bodies to defend against inland tribes that hadn't been so affected.

On the north beach, close to the polo field, a couple of young lovelies were willing to open the stables on Christmas Day so we could all do a trail ride, ending up with a long canter down the beach. Pretty memorable. And there those damn whales were, maybe a quarter mile offshore, jumping and splashing as they will do, everything but grunting, whistling and tossing a ball for us.

I got home and told everybody "I saw a whale -- on horseback!" and you can imagine what the question was.

Ask the French, Chinese, and Russians what they gave to displaced people.

Shit, they can live and prosper in the greatest country ever devised or not. Do even we have that option? What else can we give them other than just stealing stuff? Hell, we gave them casino licenses where native Americans can not apply.

Well yeah. The reservation culture we love to shred is a little remnant, the ones who thought they could maintain without blending. Instead, they blended in in ways they never foresaw.

Most Indians, the overwhelming majority, took up a newish, compromise way of life and succeeded at it. Just as all my ancestors from Europe did, because we left that place for a lot of good reasons, some of them pretty damned savage. The life they ended up with here was fundamentally different from the life they left behind them. They were good with that, and so am I.

443 A perfectly suitable alternative to the cheaper tupperware guns, are from the Police Trade In marketplace.

These can range from '90s S&W 5904s, to Glock 17s/19s, various SiG models, and etc.

Most are likely right around $300 ish. Good, quality guns. Most were "carried much, shot little", so they're generally in great mechanical order.

But yeah, I'm "ditto" in don't carry the heirloom gun as your carry piece. You use it, you're gonna lose it, at least for some months. And it might just come back with some officer's "mark" scratched right into the finish.

p.s. in Texas, *any* thing that sends a projectile down a barrel via the force of a burning, expanding gas is a "firearm". Don't try the muzzleloader thing here, it won't fly.

I would post my State postout but it make the Horde look bad. Also, I was waiting for the ONT and timed out. It doesn't matter. My advice stands. Don't carry something you aren't willing to lose to a tedious test program.

475 453 I have had a chp for 25 years. Everyone’s experience is different, but if it is a huge thing in their life, that is a bad sign. To us oldies, carrying is just like having your wallet or keys. You have to have them but you don’t base your personality on it.

I have legally carried for almost three decades. I can’t think of one time when I even considered drawing down. The first thing newbies need to know is no one cares, get on with your life.

Its old. Its historic. And effective. But no, it is not timeless. All the Colt snake guns were better looking. The 1911 is better looking. The Ruger GP 100 is better looking. And all were more effective.

Hell - the Sig Legion is better. And more attractive.

This is an interesting point. I walk to my office at odd hours. I routinely remove my pistol (9mm auto or .38 airweight) from its carrier but do not brandish. 99.999% of the time nothing happens.
I'm curious what you mean by 'drawing down' because I cannot think of a circumstance in which I pointed any firearm at anything when I did not follow through. I train to not bring it up unless that is going to result in something going downrange.
I'd like to hear your input.
What do you mean by this?

498 Just as a note, apropos of nothing: I'm one of the rare-as-hen's-teeth Westerners to personally visit the Gaza Strip. I got the Grand Tour, too. Even spent a couple days in Jabalia and e'rrythang, when I was 14. It was a formative experience. Went there, and I'll never forget what I saw.

It's surreal, and I was there when it was on its *very* best behavior, ever. It's amazing. The Arabs are just something else. When I went, it was on this dumb "Building Bridges for Peace" idiot thing... I thought these people were just misunderstood, blah blah. Seeing them in action, I was very quickly disabused of those pie-eyed notions. They're misunderstood, alright... Few understand how fucking pointless they are.

Set aside the wild-eyed, bloodthirsty fanaticism. You're still looking at a culture so backward, so dirty, so slothful, so vindictive, and so contemptuous of life, as to be almost alien in nature to literally everyone else. They really are G-d's Mistake.

What are you discussing? I discussed on the Gun Thread I would have to be a total idiot in certain circumstances to have my pistol anywhere but in my hand, out, and ready to go, but NOT pointed at someone. What are you talking about?

What do you mean by 'drawing down'? I do not point anything at anyone as a threat.

Do you?

And why did they not slit your throat on sight ? Because thats how Gaza works.
