78 Golfed at one of my favorite golf courses today. Seems to be everybody else favorite too. Very crowded. Could only get 9 in since sunset was fast approaching. I'll do the other 9 Saturday morning, in the rain (shrugs). I love the place and sad to hear it's closing for good at the end of the month. It's one of the best public courses in Western PA. Like most things around here though, it's closing. Shrinking population = not as many golfers as there used to be in West PA.

175 In my usual meanderings in reading I read an excellent piece by one Eliyahu Stern regarding 'The Father of Jewish Socialism', one Aaron Lieberman. It has to do with Marxism and Lurianic Kabballah. It's corrosive stuff so I won't link it. But in Stern's article there was a stunning allegation, based on Lieberman's personal correspondence, involving his personal beliefs that motivated his actions that heavily influenced Marxism as it is now known.
This allegation involves conceptions of Absolute Good and Absolute Evil, a Mazdean (Central Asian) concept considered by adepts as an intellectual tool, but reified in unscrupulous hands and turned into something rather more physical. It posits anyone on the Right Side is absolutely Good, anyone on the Wrong Side is absolutely Evil.
It's a Manichean-style cosmology and allows for no compromise or disagreement.
