These new standards and their related benchmarks prime youngsters to view American institutions with suspicion and hostility from the earliest grades. Kindergartners, for example, must “retell a story about an unfair experience that conveys a power imbalance.” First-graders must “identify examples of ethnicity, equality, liberation and systems of power and use those examples to construct meanings for those terms.” High school students will be required to “analyze how caste systems based upon race, social class, and religion have been used to justify imperialism, colonization, warfare, and chattel slavery” and to “examine the construction of racialized hierarchies based on colorism and dominant European beauty standards and values.” Even subjects like geography are shot through with extremist ethnic studies ideology.Hence, even though this happened in the UK, you get nightmares like this:

Second, it appeared from evidence that chief Cody was simply acting as the hired thug of that restaurant owner, and might even have had his own personal reasons to raid the files of the newspaper and the vice mayor, to protect his own interests. Cody’s suspension is only part of the pushback taking place. Almost immediately after the search the county’s prosecutor withdrew the search warrant, noting there was insufficient evidence to support it and thus returned all the seized items. The reporter whose home was searched subsequently sued Cody in federal court.

Help borrowing forklift to ride a pumpkin down the Charles River
Hello! It is my life's dream to row a giant pumpkin down the Charles River and I have finally saved up enough money to purchase one, but I just found out from the pumpkin grower that I need a forklift to receive it (as it is 1000 pounds). I, unfortunately, do not have a forklift nor the ability to operate one, so I am asking for help from my fellow Cantabrigian.
If you can help me forklift the pumpkin on October 14th (just from the truck to the ground), I promise I will let you take a ride in the pumpkin boat as well! Please help a pumpkin-lover fulfill his dream! Also would love if you have any advice with any parts of this endeavor.

It doesn't matter if you think that there was no cheating. It doesn't matter. What matters is that there was no cheating *and* that almost everyone is confident that there was no cheating. It's not good enough for elections to be fair, they also must be *seen* to be fair
And they can be. At minimum, voting should be done in small rooms with plenty of witnesses. Counting votes should be done in the same room, with witnesses, without moving the ballots. Many countries that have low levels of trust have trustworthy elections. There are ways to do it

If and when that reaction begins, its biggest opposition will be from modern conservatism. In the name of extinguishing vigilantism, or stopping the reaction they'll insist the left is trying to provoke. All while the left paints everyone else into smaller and smaller corners.

I hope you know that I genuinely value your insightful, incisive and edifying commentary here at Ace of Spades.
Not only do I tend to agree with the positions you lay out, but I also often find myself made privy to information and perspective which I had previously lacked.
Still, I feel compelled to point out that it is always wrong to take pleasure in the suffering of others.
It has to be observed that doing so is not only normal it is natural. It is a hardwired human condition to seek vengeance - even vicariously. (It's an evolutionary survival mode.) But morally, it is to ALWAYS be resisted.
Like everyone else, I have experienced taking satisfaction in learning that someone I dislike has suffered. But I make sure to IMMEDIATELY pray to God for forgiveness. Also, I've gotten pretty good at catching myself early in the process.
Not gloating over the suffering of others is not the same as not harshly criticizing a suffering enemy's position or behavior.

That said, considering the hell on earth my mother and her family went through - Mauthausen, Birkenau, the labor brigades and ultimately death marches - you must understand and appreciate my point of view. Because unless something happens to radically alter our trajectory, what happened to them will most assuredly happen to us.
The fool that got his comeuppance by one of his own for sure had the same mindset as his antecedents that rallied with enthusiasm in Nuremberg 90-odd years ago. I guarantee that.
