Those of us out west are familiar with cattle guards; a row of rails across a road as a continuation of fencing to stop cattle from crossing. The top of the rails are at road level with a shallow trench under them. The cattle are afraid of getting their legs stuck.
Here's the good part. After the cattle has been exposed to cattle guards, painting a series of white lines on the road imitating the steel rails works just as well.

Hmmmm. . . What happens in farming communities when a couple divorce but the farm is the 'family' farm and has been in the (usually) man's family for ever?
I can't imagine it would be split up, or sold and the proceeds split. Are there prenups or equivalent agreements that help keep the farm within the original family? Anyone know?

Probably sold. Could have a prenup, which works some of the time. But most people don't think of that. Not that many young farmers these days.

Bishop Ussher in the 17th century wanted a universal chronology for everyone in Christendom going from Adam and Eve with year 0 being the birth of Christ and the calculation gave 4004 BC as the creation date.

My sister bought 37 acres of Western PA farmland. The actual farm, the local Amish use. There are other parts of her property, now overgrown with every poisonous, evasive, plant known to man, that she is going to lease out to another local farmer (not Amish). He said competition for farm land is pretty stout up there.

In I, Claudius the story was that Antipater had a collection of thousands of suits of armor all in his size and someone got one o the Emperors to suspect him of plotting rebellion. He got pensioned off somewhere and most of the land went to Herod Agrippa...who eventually tried to revolt against Claudius, but God struck him dead when he let the crowd proclaim him as a God himself. The revolt then collapsed and the Romans took over governing which soon led to the Great Jewish Revolt of 68-72 AD

It was central to the Quranic history, but the problem is that the early mosques all pointed towards Petra, in that the Qiblahs which are supposed to point to Mecca, don't. Also the description of Mecca doesn't match up with the actual geography.

critics will say that there's no corroborating evidence that survived; but there's a whole lot of records lost, especially when Judea was destroyed. Herod the Great was a murderous SOB, who ended up killing off most of his own family, so it's easily believable that he would do something like this.

I am thinking most of this was made up, retconned if you will, by the muzzie leadership about a century or so after the fact. They may have built a legend around an actual person, but nearly all the "facts" about mohammed are found in the koran or the hadiths. For somebody as influential, for good or ill, as him to be completely absent from Roman, or Greek, or Persian records of the day is very, very fishy.

I believe that their was a general revolt in the middle east and northern Africa against Byzantine/Orthodox control, triggered by the disastrous Byzantine-Persian War which destroyed the militaries and economies of both combatants. After about a century of chaos, I believe a new, powerful rising Arab Dynasty retconned the whole thing to justify their newly created Caliphate. And the Byzantines went along with that because it was better than admitting it all happened because of their misrule.

The Sunni/Shia split is over an unclear succession of power going to relatives of his, so I think the original charismatic warlord/religious leader must have existed.
By their own accounts the scale of his battles weren't very large and he may have been lobbed in with other minor Arab raiders.
