Ukraine Sues Poland Over Agricultural Restrictions, So Poland Stops Sending Arms to Ukraine
Updated

The EU is a protectionist bloc. It limits the quantity of non-EU agricultural products that are allowed to be sold there. (It also protects France from competition even within the EU.)

The EU had briefly limited the amount of Ukrainian wheat imports allowed to be purchased, but then they suspended those limits, to assist Ukraine's war effort.

But three countries -- Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary -- are feeling the pain of a wheat glut and consequently low income for their farmers. So they decided to ban agricultural imports from Ukraine.

As they previously threatened to do, Ukraine sued Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia over the ban.

Ukraine has filed lawsuits against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over their decision to ban grain imports, in a row that has split the EU and could hurt Kyiv's prospects of joining the bloc.

"It is fundamentally important for us to prove that individual member states cannot ban the import of Ukrainian goods. That is why we are filing lawsuits against them in the WTO," First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko said in a statement.

Svyridenko added that the lawsuits, together with pressure from the European Commission and other member countries, "will help restore normal trade between Ukraine and neighboring countries, as well as show solidarity between us."

Yes, Ukraine, lawsuits always bring people closer together. It's what they're known to do.

Now Poland decides that it will help show further solidarity between Poland and Ukraine by ending its program of sending arms to Ukraine.

Just like lawsuits, ending a military alliance also brings people together!

Warsaw has stopped supplying weapons to Kyiv and is focusing on arming itself instead, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said Wednesday, amid a dispute over Ukraine's agricultural exports.

"We are no longer transferring weapons to Ukraine, because we are now arming Poland with more modern weapons," Morawiecki said in an appearance on Polish television channel Polsat, according to European Pravda. "If you don't want to be on the defensive, you have to have something to defend yourself with," he added, insisting, though, that the move wouldn't endanger Ukraine's security.

Morawiecki's terse comments came as tensions escalated between Kyiv and the EU over the past week, after the European Commission moved to allow Ukrainian grain sales across the bloc, ending restrictions on grain imports which five eastern EU countries originally sought to protect their farmers from competition.

I mentioned earlier that a transgender spokesman (emphasis on man) for the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces declared that he and his allies Have a Little List of "Russian war propagandists" and would literally "hunt them down."

A video of a former US soldier-turned-Ukrainian-military-spokesperson went viral on Wednesday after it was posted on X. The trans-identified male, who now goes by Sarah Ashton-Crillo spoke in a threatening tone and seemingly targeted the US:

"Russia hates the truth, that their obsessive focus on a Ukrainian volunteer is simply allowing the light of the Ukrainian nations honesty to shine brightly."

"Next week, the teeth of the Russian devils will gnash ever harder, and their rabid mouths will foam [with] uncontrollable frenzy as the world will see a favorite Kremlin propagandist pay for their crimes."

"And this puppet of Putin is only the first Russia's war criminal propagandists will all be hunted down, and justice will be served as we in Ukraine are led on this mission by faith in God, liberty, and complete liberation."

Correction: Earlier I said he was not an "official spokesman" for Ukraine. Well, actually, he is, or at least an official spokesman for the Ukraine Territorial Defense Forces.

I have to say, I totally buy that this man is a woman. And also, totally not insane.

Days later, this violent freak said that he was proud he'd threatened to hunt down and kill any critics of Ukraine:

Toxic Ma'amsculinity.

Update: It got worse, if you can believe that. JD Vance demanded to know if this murder-minded psychopath had any connection with US intelligence agencies, and if Ukraine authorized him to declare fatwas on critics of Ukraine.

"In recent days, a video has circulated of an individual who claims to be an English-speaking spokesperson for the Ukrainian military. In the video, this individual, Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, looks directly into the camera and threatens physical violence to anyone who circulates 'Russian propaganda'."

"A number of reports purport to offer additional information, much of it unconfirmed, regarding Ashton-Cirillo. I've seen claims this individual is an American, a former intelligence operative in the United States, and an employee of the Ukrainian government...."

Here's how this ugly man responded:

He says he's a "Russian disinformation expert." What a plot twist! I never expected a mentally-ill transgender extremist to turn out to be a self-certified Russian Disinformation Expert!

Let me just say that Ukraine and this transgender have something in common: Shielded from any criticism by the Global Regime and perpetually propandized for, they have come to believe that they can do and say literally anything without consequence.

Well, for this bizarre murder-threatening transgender freak, there are some consequences to announcing that a global jihad murder squad is being assembled to kill wrongthinkers: He got suspended.

Only suspended, though.

Here's TDF's statement:

Ukraine Territorial Defense Forces
@TDF_UA

Sep 20

1/3 Statement of the Command of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding some statements of the spokesperson of the TDF, Junior Sergeant Sarah Ashton-Cirillo.

2/3 The statements of JSgt Ashton-Cirillo in recent days were not approved by the command of the TDF or the command of the AFU. When conducting military operations against the aggressor, the defense forces of Ukraine strictly observe the norms of international humanitarian law.

3/3 The command of the TDF will conduct an official investigation into the circumstances of these statements. Appropriate decisions would be taken.
Sergeant Sarah Ashton-Cirillo will be suspended immediately pending the investigation.

I've generally supported Ukraine, not because I love Ukraine but because Russia is a despicable enemy. But I'm becoming more and more disenchanted by the amount of entitlement we see flowing from the Democrat Party Proxy State of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Rand Paul says he will not vote for any stopgap spending bill that includes aid to Ukraine.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) announced Wednesday he would not pass any short-term spending package to fund the government that includes additional funding for the Ukrainian war effort, just ten days before the federal government is set to shut down if a deal is not reached.

Congressional leaders are working towards a deal to pass a continuing resolution to keep the federal government funded past September 30. However, there's a debate about whether the continuing resolution will include the additional $24 billion in aid for Ukraine that President Joe Biden is requesting.

Paul wrote an op-ed and spoke about the issue on the Senate floor, declaring the federal government should "not be held hostage for Ukraine funding."

"Today I'm putting congressional leadership & @POTUS on notice that I will oppose any effort to hold the federal government hostage for Ukraine funding," Paul wrote online. "I will not consent to expedited passage of any spending measure that provides any more U.S. aid to Ukraine."

Both are probably true. We'll make up the difference and Poland will continue to prepare for its own defense if needed. I don't blame them one bit. I think the argument that Putin is just itching to keep moving after dispatching Ukraine doesn't have a lot of merit, but Poland arming itself to the teeth would certainly cause Putin some pause if it is his plan.

Does this also mean the Poland thinks that the Ukraine exercise is more or less finished at this point?

45 If Poland wanted to end the war, they'd kick out all the US and European military "observers" stationed in Poland.

This is a Polish government flex, telling the US and Ukraine that they won't be patsies and lose their own personal elections b/c they allow Ukraine to screw them and their people. Farmers are big swing voters in Poland right now, and this is all about getting their votes.

76 Then Poles should start brushing up on their Russian, because they’re next after Ukraine falls.

Poland feels reasonably safe because they're in NATO. It’s about economics more than the war. This step by Poland might well result in our HAVING to get in fully via NATO.
If Russia moves on Poland...(and given how much this will embolden Putin, he just might).

We have to keep funding Ukraine. If for no other reason, it shows how weak Putin and Russia are.

Simply Not True. A Polish right-wing MAGA politician running for office made this announcement. Duda is above all things, power-hungry. He wants to hold on to office - but without becoming a pariah within the EU.

And the EU's been to Poland what it was to Spain in the '80s: it's brought them into the first world.

If this is indeed happening as reported by CNN, it'll just make the killing of innocent Ukrainians by the Russians that much easier. Unless Ukraine decides to go to negotiation table.

I am just very sad to watch daily destruction of buildings in Ukraine and the accompanying casualties. Obviously NATO has not been able to defeat Russian invasion.

Ace, use your time machine and explain this in 2009:

"In Kiev and Kharkiv and other cities in Ukraine, American political consultants who worked against one another in Iowa and New Hampshire and then in the general election are facing off again in a somewhat surreal Eastern European replay of the 2008 campaign.

The firm headed by Hillary Clinton’s former chief strategist, Mark Penn, is helping run incumbent President Victor Yushchenko’s campaign. Meanwhile Paul Manafort, whose firm worked on Republican John McCain’s losing effort, and Tad Devine, a top strategist on the Democratic presidential campaigns of Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004, are consulting for Victor Yanukovych, the pro-Russian frontrunner in the polls."

I think Putin was looking for any excuse to get closer to the spots he wants to close off. Moldova was my thought of where he would go first, they aren't a part of NATO.

The Uke exercise is now at stalemate. The Ukes just don't have the bodies to push any initial success at the front, and Russia now realizes their entire re-supply routes and logistic hubs can be stopped by Uke drones. They cannot even harbor their navy in Crimea anymore. So Russia is pretty much limited as well. A perfect storm of stalemate.

Val Thor lives for around 500 years, he has 12 fingers & 12 toes, an oversized heart, 1 giant lung, larger blood vessels than a human, copper oxide for blood (similar to an octopus), brain 🧠 capacity 300 cm greater than a human and an IQ totally off the scale (around 1200). Val Valiant Thor speaks over 100 languages (alien & human) fluently and didn’t age at all during his 60 years “visit” working for the United States 🇺🇸 Pentagon.

The men in this photo are all intellectual giants and include atomic bomb scientists and people involved with time variant science. The USS Eldridge warship was used in the Philadelphia Experiment and was made invisible before teleporting from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Norfolk, Virginia.

Val Valiant Thor claims to be from Venus while others think he may be a Pleiadian/Plejaren. Phil Schneider personally met Val Thor. You can see Phil Schneider’s father, Otto Oscar Schneider, to the right of Val Thor.🦎🤯🐊

Selfishly, if we weren't in NATO, why not just ignore it. But right now, anything I can do to weaken Russia and China that doesn't cost me any soldiers is a positive thing. Neither country will be missed in their present configurations. And letting them survive just means we will have to deal with them later. This deal in watching Russia smash themselves to bits against a weaker enemy makes me feel better.

Ukraine has a faction that has been around since just before WWII called Banderites (named for Stepan Bandera, a particularly vicious partisan). Before WWII what is now western Ukraine was part of Poland. The rest of what is now Ukraine was part of Imperial Russia. Ukrainian nationalists thought that they should have their own country. Poles are Catholic; Russia and Ukrainians are (mostly) Eastern Orthodox. So the Banderites began slaughtering Poles in the western areas (my Great-Aunt and her two children among them). This went on until Nazi Germany invaded and the Banderites began slaughtering Jews (Babi Yar was actually done by Ukrainians at the behest of the Nazis. The Ukrainians did this so well that an entire volunteer SS division was raised).

What Ukraine did to start this war was the Banderites were doing the same thing to the Russian speaking majority in the east after 2014. Ukraine is an abomination that needs to cease existing.

Agree. But that is one ugly man with a body that nobody would believe was an alien. That fat, sloppy upper body and those tiny, spindly legs. Does the retard not even care how he looks? At least wear clothes that hide or deemphasize your least attractive features. That's why most smart short guys always wear shirts or other clothes with vertical stripes, because it makes their body look longer. For the same reason, they avoid solids or horizontal stripes like the plague.

Laughable. Yes, bullying and suing people has always been a winning remedy for solidarity. Poland and other countries have every right to look after their citizens and their own national interest.

Its all about Sevastopol, warm water port, and a border area around it. Russians really don't want Ukraine as a vassal state that requires constant investment. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at September 21, 2023 01:52 PM (t0OGg)

Poland had an exercise last week or so putting troops in advanced parts *in Poland* to face the Belarus border. That's not how it went down - the coup de main did blog down, but Russia only pulled back because Zelensky agreed to negotiations and begged them to back off. So for politics and probably supply issues they did. After a few weeks US and UK pressure got him brave enough to scuttle the negotiations, but the paralyzation of the Ukr army led to the occupation of South Ukraine pretty easily until Ukr had raised more troops.

They certainly are starting out well on the Demilitarization and Denazification parts with the horrendous casualties Ukraine is suffering for nothing. The land area they have now is about 60 percent of Ukraine's GDP and mineral wealth. My guess is they will want to take the Dneipr basin to avoid future games with blowing dams and flooding, and the Russian areas around Odessa to stop pogroms against ethnic Russians and to deny NATO a base, leaving the rest basically like Austria - a rump country with a bloated capital and no resources. Then even if rearmed it isn't a threat to Russia. The Nazi shock troops might be a useful tool in EU oppression of member states

She really won't be missed.

425 Just a thought, Ukraine might consider NOT threatening countries it depends on for its survival. Just throwing that out there...

426 Elensky at the UN to a 3/4 empty gallery because they didn't want to hear the crap coming outta his mouth: "I demand full Russian retreat". Elensky is either on dope or dog food. Ukraine has lost. They lost months ago. I sincerely hope the ATACMS the US has sent to Ukraine (range 190miles/Crimea) Russia will respond three fold pushing Ukraine's fudge in by hitting infrastructure and command and control centers. This war has only made Russia stronger in their military arms production and man power. Estimated 1.2 millions trained reservist in waiting for a final push into Ukraine. Many believe this US/West proxy war has been a proving ground for US military hardware in a possible war with China. A war with China or the Russian Federation the US would lose. When you have evil fucks like Victoria Nuland in this Admin. anything is possible towards an escalation in the coming months.

427 Although this stuff is true, putting this stuff up on the blog now shows to me that Putin's propagandists are getting desperate: Ukraine must be shut down now, at any cost, before it's too late.
It's too bad that hating Ukraine has become the consensus position in "conservative" circles and you can't be a "true" """conservative""" without it.
Go Ukraine!

І'm getting tired of Wordpress because I've had issues with hackers and Ι'm
looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a
goօd platfоrm.
