Leftwing Democrat Shill "Journalists" Call for Biden to Step Aside, Scheme to Replace Kamala Harris

The ultimate braindead robotic liberal DC Establishment advocate David Ignatius says it's time for Biden to put aside his vanity and let someone else run as the Democrat nominee.

Joe Biden launched his candidacy for president in 2019 with the words "we are in the battle for the soul of this nation." He was right. And though it wasn't obvious at first to many Democrats, he was the best person to wage that fight. He was a genial but also shrewd campaigner for the restoration of what legislators call "regular order."

Since then, Biden has had a remarkable string of wins. He defeated President Donald Trump in the 2020 election;

Did he though?

...he led a Democratic rebuff of Trump's acolytes in the 2022 midterms; his Justice Department has systematically prosecuted the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection that Trump championed and, now, through special counsel Jack Smith, the department is bringing Trump himself to justice.

Is he though?

What I admire most about President Biden is that in a polarized nation, he has governed from the center out, as he promised in his victory speech. With an unexpectedly steady hand, he passed some of the most important domestic legislation in recent decades. In foreign policy, he managed the delicate balance of helping Ukraine fight Russia without getting America itself into a war. In sum, he has been a successful and effective president.

I know this is terrible nonsense, but he's just doing some throat-clearing to prove he's Still One of the Good People even as he prepares to throw a frail elderly man under the bus.

Why is he throwing Biden under the bus?

Because Trump, of course.

But I don't think Biden and Vice President Harris should run for reelection. It's painful to say that, given my admiration for much of what they have accomplished. But if he and Harris campaign together in 2024, I think Biden risks undoing his greatest achievement -- which was stopping Trump.

...

Biden would carry two big liabilities into a 2024 campaign. He would be 82 when he began a second term. According to a recent Associated Press-NORC poll, 77 percent of the public, including 69 percent of Democrats, think he's too old to be effective for four more years. Biden's age isn't just a Fox News trope; it's been the subject of dinner-table conversations across America this summer.

Because of their concerns about Biden's age, voters would sensibly focus on his presumptive running mate, Harris. She is less popular than Biden, with a 39.5 percent approval rating, according to polling website FiveThirtyEight. Harris has many laudable qualities, but the simple fact is that she has failed to gain traction in the country or even within her own party.

He further writes of Harris' inadequacies and points out that Biden could have said "no" to her nomination, but didn't.

...

Biden has another chance to say no -- to himself, this time -- by withdrawing from the 2024 race. It might not be in character for Biden, but it would be a wise choice for the country.

...

Time is running out. In a month or so, this decision will be cast in stone. It will be too late for other Democrats, including Harris, to test themselves in primaries and see whether they have the stuff of presidential leadership....

I hope Biden has this conversation with himself about whether to run, and that he levels with the country about it. It would focus the 2024 campaign. Who is the best person to stop Trump? That was the question when Biden decided to run in 2019, and it's still the essential test of a Democratic nominee today.

Ignatius schemed to replace Kamala Harris with several other possible Diverse Women of Color. So does a "journalist" at New York Magazine.

In a piece urging Biden not to run again, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius suggested as a backup plan that Biden could replace Harris with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass or Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

...

"Biden could encourage a more open vice-presidential selection process that could produce a stronger running mate," Ignatius writes.

...

In a New York Magazine Intelligencer column, Eric Levitz floats several options to replace Harris including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.).

Liberal hack Josh Barro also writes about the Harris Replacement Option in his newsletter, figuring that Gretchen Whitmer would just be a super choice.

"[Biden] has the opportunity to pick a running mate who's more appealing to voters than Kamala Harris, more credible as a next-generation leader of the Democratic Party than Kamala Harris, and more comforting to voters who consider the possibility that his running mate might succeed to the presidency than Kamala Harris," Barro writes.

How mainstream is the idea of pushing Biden and Kamala out, in Democrat political hack circles?

This mainstream:

7 I'll believe Biden will be replaced when the DNC actually makes a move to replace him.

As of now, they're spending money on ads for his reelection.

This is just different factions fighting because they see Biden as weak and potentially replaceable. It's not about winning or losing the general election. It's about being the top of patronage.

Joe Mannix has a good breakdown of how the different major factions let out their narratives.

When the NYT and WaPo are in alignment, there's unity. When they're out of alignment, it's factional fighting.

As far as I know, it's just WaPo saying this, in one opinion piece.

265 Hunter Biden indicted by special counsel on felony gun charges

Posted by: SMOD at September 14, 2023 01:55 PM (RHGPo)

266 AFP:
||In a Delaware federal court, Biden faces three counts related to possessing a firearm while under the influence of narcotics.

These charges are related to an incident in October 2018 when he purchased a Colt Cobra revolver. Two of the charges claim that Biden falsely filled out a form claiming he was not using illegal drugs at the time of the purchase. The third charge alleges that he had a firearm while using narcotics.

This indictment marks a historic moment, as it involves the son of a sitting president. It comes after a plea deal that could have resolved a lengthy investigation into Hunter Biden fell apart.

House Republicans have initiated an impeachment inquiry to obtain bank records and other documents concerning both the president and his son.||

But eventually, slowly but surely, Mitt and his milk mustache started to win me over...Every non-McCain member of the 2008 race who had upbraided Romney as a phony and a hypocrite now sold themselves out for a single ride on Trump’s golf cart. Not Mitt.

He's so brave, but compassionate. We need to save the planet by reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, and that means sacrifices, and raising taxes on evil businesses. I think what Barnes is getting at is less legal, but more political -- you can never be forced to testify against yourself, and always have the option of exercising your 5A rights.

However, that doesn't necessarily look good in the eyes of the public. But the media can conflate the two things and say "Hunter's doing the smart thing -- he is under indictment, and his lawyer told him not to answer any questions at all while this is pending. He would be insane to testify if it could hurt him." Even though that doesn't really make sense, it will be good enough for the media and the LIV's.

=======

I would say that most are products of political machines. Those who rise up in political machines are generally not very good at politics, and in today's climate on the left, where identity is more important than ability, you're getting people who are aggressively politicking...within the party apparatus...who aren't much good at much else. This is cutting against everyone within the machine, but it's leading to a steady rise of black and female politicians whose origins are in that machine.

This is creating this bias towards dumb, politically inept (from the perspective of actually appealing to voters, not power brokers), and corrupt (because you have to be to rise up) black, female politicians.

It's not that they're more likely to be awful, but that the system is more likely to choose terrible people who happen to be black and female.

This produced a sectional rift in the Democrats, and his hatred for Douglas for blocking the effort extended to 1860 where the party split, assuring Lincoln's election.

After Lincoln's election he turned a total blind eye, aided by a traitorous Secretary of Defense, to the Southern arming and refused to defend the arms storage areas that helped the South actually fight the war in the early weeks or months. Yeah, that's the thing. Machine politicians tend to be really bad at politics because they don't rise by being good at politics. They rise by being good at making internal power structures happy.

That usually happens through underhanded means of several varieties. They can thrive in the machine environment, but once out, they turn out to be awful at the basic things that politicians usually master by the time they reach city councilman spots. The correct solution is to then make the entire country machine politics, it seems.

This isn't how machines used to work, and since 90 pct or so of politicians from 1870 to 1980 were from machines at least a good fraction were decent at politicking.

The big difference is the shift of academic ideology from universities into the system in the recent decades. Even on the "Right" you have the NeoCons who refuse to let the reality of the world affect foreign policy and are destroying everything they touch. And on the hard left it is the new wave of Woke/Femininst/Unablism promoting the most worthless into at least the lower levels of power that is very different.

4. Hunter will win a motion for summary judgement because there are no facts in dispute. Case dismissed.
