Some of the prepping youtube channels feature how-to's for growing and using medicinal herbs, and I haven't noticed anything witchy about them. Prepper weird, yeah, but I can ignore most of that. Southern Exposure Seed company and Baker Creek Seed Company also have books on using herbs, and neither (to my knowledge) is witch or pagan associated. You might want to check those sources first.

We had salsa and then pizza sauce on corn chips to try different flavors. Then we had them taste a dill pickle and a fresh cucumber slice to see how an herb changes the taste.
Most kids had had a pickle before but a very few had tried a cucumber and had no idea they didn't taste the same.
They were very excited to try the herbs and vegetables that they had grown in their section of the community garden.
