Despite Nursing Home Joe's Glowing Predictions of Fuffiffthithafffm, Inflation Is About To Get Worse

Joe Biden promised fuffiffthithafffm.

Joe Biden lied.

For months now, inflation has been steadily trending down to a 3% level after hitting 9% last summer.

But that positive story is about to get a jolt this week as the consumer price index is expected to show monthly inflation rose by 0.6% in August, up from 0.2% from a month earlier. That will likely bring the annual rate to 3.6%. The culprit? Rising energy prices.

Energy prices are rising, huh?

I wonder how that happened.

Did someone pay Bidens to weaken the United States?

After canceling the Keystone XL pipeline project, draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to dangerously low levels (some of which was sold to a Hunter Biden-linked Chinese energy giant), and vowing "no more oil drilling" on US soil while America's geopolitical adversaries -- two of whom paid his family handsomely -- beef up their own energy independence, the Biden administration has done it again.

Last week the regime confirmed that it will cancel seven controversial oil and gas leases in an area of Alaska known as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), which were legally awarded from a 2021 sale.

...

Biden, in a written statement, said that the move will "help preserve our Arctic lands and wildlife, while honoring the culture, history, and enduring wisdom of Alaska Natives who have lived on these lands since time immemorial."

...

In response, Fox Business host and former Trump administration official Larry Kudlow blasted Biden, saying that this latest energy policy aides Russia, Iran and Venezuela, and is "sheer insanity."

"Biden is ... playing into the hands of some of the worst actors in the world. I've never seen anything... and damaging, obviously, consumers and businesses here at home," said Kudlow, adding "This is insanity. Sheer insanity."

"Who is Biden working for?" asked one X user in response to Kudlow's segment.

Video of that interview at the link.

Speaking of Joe Biden's Authentic Frontier Gibberish, here are some clips from his embarrassing Jazz Odessey of Complete Nonsense in Hanoi.

He sounds like he's in a hospital and just awoke from a coma.

Here's Biden's Nurse Karine Jean-Pierre silencing him.

Neither did I! But I hear tell, because the amount I'm contributing to this transaction, in the low 5 figures, is not as high as others are paying.

Once this place is sold, I have a decision to make: Buy here, or continue to rent (let's see how high the renewal goes up), wait for the market to crash, and either stay here or move on to elsewhere. 37% of the BLS jobs numbers are a estimate of the birth/death model. That is defined as new small businesses opening which outnumber other small businesses 'dying'. Anyone who thinks any small businesses have been starting up in this year is incredibly stupid.

37% of the BLS jobs numbers are essentially falsified.

115 Fun fact ... fuel and grocery prices have long been excluded from the official inflation figures. But you can't hide their impact on everything else, and everything interconnects.

We all know inflation has been out of control for several years now. If you buy 20 gallons of gas a week, and that price went up a buck a gallon, that's real money. And chances are, some of you buy way more than that. 20 gallons at 20 MPG is 400 miles a week or about 20K miles a year.

Groceries ? Forget about it. Some things have doubled. Almost everything is up 25%. That's really real money. For many families, groceries are around 25% of your take home pay now.

Kamala Harris poised to 'take over from Biden' as Democrats

panic over devastating polls
Joe Biden tells press conference in Vietnam he's 'going to bed'
As Democrats become increasingly frustrated with President Joe Biden’s falling poll numbers, political experts have told Daily Express US that Vice President Kamala Harris is being thrown into the spotlight.
Meanwhile, VP Harris - along with her husband, Doug Emhoff - arrived in New York on Monday to make an appearance at the city’s 22nd anniversary commemoration at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. Some believe that Harris’ presence at the event - and Biden’s absence - means Democrats are pushing the female VP into the spotlight to cover up for the president's recent lack of success.

But if the source of pain is unknown and largely unknowable, as it is for Democrats and other kinds of idiots, then no change of direction is possible. TL;DR version: it doesn't matter what numbers get reported or what the actual numbers are for a lot of people.

120 It's funny (not "Ha ha" funny)-

The illegitimate regime did pretty much everything wrong for the economy.

Shut down production (energy being only the most obvious)
Print money
Spend like drunken sailors

That all translates into both massive inflation and malaise.

This is because I'm fairly certain the left thinks the economy if magic. In 2008, they thought the economy would get better naturally and they could do whatever they wanted and get credit for it improving.

That didn't happen, but reality proving the left wrong has never made them doubt themselves before, so when the same people got in charge again, they did the same thing.

It's also (part) of why they push electric cars. There are the smart ones who KNOW it won't work. Most of them are pretty stupid and think if they just push harder on those EVIL corporations, they'll magically make it work.

They are children. They have no basis in reality, are never held to account, and are dangerous with any sort of power.

That's the thing, isn't it ? There are no good guys in this. Corporations ARE greedy. Today's corporations are greedy for power as well as profit, and more the former than the latter.

The biggest corporation of all ? The Federal Government. The only corporation, for now at least, that can literally compel you to buy a product you may not want.

So how to explain the current stance of both parties ? You got me. Seems to me, the first party that betrays their protection of corporations wins. But I don't see either side doing that.

We'll get some argument of top tax rates, probably, if the script actually calls for the GOP to be nominally in charge for a term. And maybe some shielding of corporations that really should be allowed to fail. And that'll be about it.

308 Josh Hawley proposed capping credit card rates at 18%. Is he a socialist commie? Because when RFK proposed giving people a 3% mortgage he was a socialist commie. It’s essentially the same thing just coming at it from a different angle.

Its not small C economic certainly BUT...I see the logic in it.

Mandate artificially low mortgage rates and everyone invests in housing, raising housing costs...which is the opposite of the nominal goal.

Hell if you tell me I can borrow money at 3% when inflation is 10-25% and I'm borrowing to the hilt. I'd trade in my current house for two McMansions or however far I can get some questionable bank to finance me.

Mandate artificially low interest rates on CCs and I assume the CC companies will get pickier about who they give CCs to.

NASA published a study in 2015 that showed that the Antarctic ice sheet had gained billions of tons of ice each year for decades. That included a net gain of 82 billion tons of ice per year between 2003 and 2008.

338 Meh. There's always been usury laws. The only argument has ever been the where the line gets drawn. And the only consequence would likely be that some people can't get credit. I don't see great principles at stake here.

Do you believe in a free economy, based upon supply and demand and free individuals able to make choices, or not ? Because "credit" is indeed a choice. And a poor one. The man offering you credit ? Not much better than a pot dealer. The man eagerly accepting that credit ? Not any better off than the man buying pot.

However, I wouldn't for a minute stop the sale of either credit or pot. If you believe in government setting the price of either ? Then setting the price of bread is a very short step away.

And when you set that price. You set the wage of the man making the bread as well. But as you say, usury laws are as old as time. So is servitude and serfdom.

Spain is an interesting example. They conquered regions rich in gold and especially silver.

Which...meant they suddenly had more money, which they spent on questionable wars mostly. Within a couple of generations their domestic economy was a joke.

They did have some agricultural endeavors too of course - sugar, tobacco, etc, but the silver/gold just drowned out the real value they added by colonization/conquest.

427 Scientists at the National Snow and Ice Data Center announced Wednesday that the Arctic ice sheet extends 25 percent further than it did last summer, with 1.82 million square miles of ice at its annual low.

Also, Arctic ice coverage reaches its lowest extent in mid- to late-September following the melting season.
The melting ice/world destruction stuff slays me.
Arctic ice of course fluctuates, but for the past 10 years it’s been coming on strong. “This year’s post-melting season ice sheet is 40 percent larger than the record low, which was set in 2012. Upon news of the greater ice coverage, scientists noted that weather patterns fluctuate and pointed to a zone of colder-than-usual air pressure over the Beaufort Sea.” Weather! Amazing stuff.

Posted by: LASue at September 12, 2023 03:27 PM (Ed8Zd)

428
Someone /something mention ice sheets?

The Antarctic ice sheet is much larger than the artic but does not generate the same headlines, probably because there’s no money to be made since it does not have a shrinking trend, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s 2021 report. In fact,
NASA published a study in 2015 that showed that the Antarctic ice sheet had gained billions of tons of ice each year for decades. That included a net gain of 82 billion tons of ice per year between 2003 and 2008.
Posted by: LASue at September 12, 2023 03:11 PM (Ed8Zd)

I find it suspicious that every study of Antarctic ice extent uses different measurements than Arctic ice extent (tons vs area covered etc). It's almost as if an Arctic decline is completely offset by Antarctic growth and vice versa. And the Climate Taliban types are desperately scrambling to cover it up.

Ballsy move, and one that could have easily ended her career. It didn't. The show was a smash hit and apparently a lot of the reason why that happened was because of her fixes. If it's true, I wish her the best because she earned it - bet it all and came up victorious.

That all ignores the system it takes to create the lifestyles they aspire to. Seriously, just roll back society 100 years, and put them all at the top. They'll be uniformly miserable, no matter how much cheap local pussy and liquor they can enjoy. Not to mention the lower population densities and associated reduction in social interaction. And on and on.

Nah. When this bitch collapses, it's going to collapse bigly. As in multiple flags bigly.

554 Banning guns in Albuquerque, NM is working! Since the banning not one single CCW carrier has murdered anyone.

On the other hand the murders are doing what murderers do best. From today's Albuquerque Journal: One person was shot to death at a motel near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Coors NW, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.

"Officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. to the Days Inn in the 6000 block of Iliff Road NW, where they discovered a man died at the scene, said APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos in a statement."
