AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.Prayer Requests: 8/4 – San Franpsycho updated the Horde on his buddy Paul’s medical status. So far, all treatments are ineffective, and his tumor remains inoperable.
8/19 Update – Paul’s drug trial starts on 8/21. Hopefully any side effects are mild.
8/30 Update – Paul went to the ER. Prayers needed, please. 8/5 – Screaming in digital heard that her sister-in-law’s mother is in ER with breathing problems. Prayers are appreciated.
8/26 Update – The breathing problems were RSV, and she has recovered. Her hubby also got it, and he is recovering. 8/12 – Hrothgar asked for prayers for Gabriella, a lovely young lady with great promise, who was transferred from the hospital in Puerto Rico to one in Tampa to get advanced treatment for a very aggressive cancer. This past week showed this new treatment seems to be extremely effective and she has made a remarkable recovery. She is not out of the woods yet and still needs prayer support, but her outlook has improved so much that the hospital staff were celebrating it! 8/12 – Mk Y asked for prayers for the family and 3 year old son of Logan, his nephew, who was killed in a motorcycle accident. 8/12 – Moon_over_vermont received a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer in June. It is a type of cancer that typically responds to treatment, but it’s everywhere. The second chemo started this week. If his/her comments ever made you smile or you thought they were insightful, or if you can spare a passing thought or prayer, it would be appreciated.
8/19 Update – Thank you to everybody who replied to the prayer request last Saturday. So far the doctors are optimistic. There is a possibility that surgery may not be needed, but it will still be a long treatment. 8/12 - Tuna sends thanks for all the prayers after the death of her husband last month. She knows they were instrumental in being able to find a little peace of mind. 8/12 – Oddbob sent out an emergency prayer request for his 4 month old granddaughter. She had some sort of seizure on 8/11. They took her to the ER and they did a bunch of tests and found nothing. Then it happened again on 8/12, so they went back to the ER.
8/26 Update – Oddbob’s granddaughter has had more seizures and was admitted to the hospital over the weekend.
9/2 Update – Oddbob’s granddaughter was released from the hospital. Since then, she has had only one seizure so it seems like the meds and keto diet are working. The docs say she might grow out of it in a few years but of course can’t promise anything. If not, she and her parents are in for a lifelong process of monitoring, controlling, and coping. He thanks everyone for their prayers and concern. 8/16 – P asked for prayers for her nephew R, out east. He suffers from Chiari malformation – his brain doesn’t quite fit in his skull, so part of it protrudes from the base. He has suffered all his life with migraines and dizziness, which makes it nearly impossible to keep a job. A neurosurgical specialist will operate on him on 8/21. Please pray that the operation is successful, and he will be able to live a much more normal life.
8/25 Update – The operation was successful, so far. He no longer has headaches and nausea. But he cannot yet bend, twist, or lift anything, so he doesn’t know if that will trigger the symptoms again. Please keep praying for him and his wife, who is providing all basic body care now. 8/19 Eromero requested prayers for his friend Lloyd as he transfers from ortho rehab to assisted living. He is having some confusion and needs clarity of mind. Lloyd’s wife, and Mr. and Mrs. Eromero could also use prayers as they try to provide care. 8/19 – Coelacanth asks for continued prayers. There are problems with his son Cam. Cam has been concealing many things for many years and has been lying to his family. His mother is heartbroken.
8/24 Update – Cam is still suffering with his significant health issues, and his mental state is unstable. He is making decisions based on feelings, and guided by bad advice, will not consider his parents’ cautions. 8/19 – Sock Monkey could use prayers for his wife’s younger brother and his family. They lost everything in the Gray fire, west of Spokane. So far Sock Monkey is still at home, about 4 miles from the fire evacuation area. 8/19 – Free Tibet has a biopsy coming up and asks for prayers for a good outcome. He says it’s been a long two years.
9/2 Update – The biopsy showed it was malignant, however the resulting surgery is said to have removed it all. Thanks to all for the prayerful support. 8/23 – A concern was brought up in the comments that applies to many churches nowadays. Prayers are needed for churches (members and leaders) to remain faithful to the Bible. Some congregations are resigning from church denominations that have chosen to teach something other than Biblical Christianity. Some people are having to separate from their church homes, due to the false teaching occurring. Please pray for people to have the knowledge and strength to remain faithful to the Word. 8/23 – Tonypete asked for prayers for Miss R, which is having a procedure done. She sometimes has very poor reactions to them, so it’s a bit worrying. 8/26 – Tecumseh Tea requested prayers for herself and her husband. They are going through a difficult time in their marriage. They are committed and will see it through, but ask for prayers that God will heal their marriage and help them each see what needs to change. 8/26 – Jewells45 posted that she could use prayers. Her last round of chemo was tough on her. 8/26 – Dash my Lace Wings asked for continued prayers. Her husband is still sober but needs to develop some interests to keep his mind and body busy – something that will give him joy and purpose in life. 8/26 – Farmer Bob provided an update. Mrs. Bob came for a weeklong visit, but she only stayed a day. She said reconciliation was too much work, and that she was feeling too free and unburdened without him and the kids, and so she left without saying goodbye to the girls. She has been posting party pictures to Facebook that the girls are seeing, which is hurting them. And she has served Farmer Bob with divorce papers. On the bright side, he has lost 115 pounds, started flight school, and most importantly, is closer to God and his girls than ever. 8/26 – Fox2! requested prayers for an old friend, T, who lost her husband unexpectedly. She is not amused by all the contradictory information and direction she is getting from her husband’s employer, insurance, and soon to begin adventures with the local probate court. And then she had to put her horse down. Prayers are greatly appreciated. 8/26 –Don Draper said his mother is expected to pass this week. Prayers, good wishes and thoughts are again requested, this time for her soul to have a safe journey. Thanks to all who gave prayers before. 8/27 – ghbucky asked for prayers for his oldest brother’s wife (both in their 80s and very dear to him) has been hospitalized and intubated due to pneumonia, likely due to covid. This means she cannot have visitors and his brother is under quarantine. She is very feeble and has been dealing with circulatory issues. Ghbucky fears the worst. 8/28 – Fenelon Spoke is concerned for a friend of a friend named Mike (age 39) who had major gastric surgery. He is now on a breathing apparatus because he wasn’t doing well. The nurses are on strike, so the patients are not getting the care they need. Prayers are appreciated. 8/29 – Swodog asked for prayers as the hurricane was headed toward his house. The family is all safely inland, but their home may be washed away. 8/29 – Mpfs requested prayers for healing of his tooth, which turned out to be a fistula, and very painful. Oral surgery is scheduled. 8/30 – Debby Doberman Schultz asked for prayers. Her husband passed away on 8/30, with her sitting beside him, holding his hand. The kids had been in and out, but the end was like the beginning - just the two of them. As painful as it was, she wouldn’t have it any other way. She is so gratified that he is relieved of his suffering. 9/2 – Skip shared his concerns about his aunt and uncle, who are moving to a retirement community soon. His uncle is not doing well, mentally or physically. Skip hopes for more peace for them. Well.. this weekend started off with a bang yesterday. First my CT scan wasn't the best of news. They found another spot on my upper left lung about 6 mm big. The rest of the nodes no change, a few very small ones showing up in both lower lungs. She wants to keep an eye on the big one. Ordered a PET scan. I get home and look at the paperwork. Scheduled for November 29! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???

He's still on a bland diet- rice and very lean ground beef- with ground up Pro-Pectalin but his poops aren't fully normal yet. (Gross warning: they look ok but are squishy when bagged)
He is also on a daily Denamarin pill for liver support

We rather stopped considering when we suddenly became retired. I'm afraid we're stuck at Schloss Hadrian. Not that it's bad, but eventually taking care of the property will become a greater burden and frankly I'm sick of sweating out every hurricane season.

Post covid infection my wife had some lesions in her bronchial tract that were about 9 mm long. So she had an CAT scan months later and they were down to about 7 mm. Then the lockouts and hysteria began and we stayed away from hospitals for more then a year. Latest scan shows only scar tissue.
Anyway, the point is, when they take their time in scheduling the next test, it's usually a good sign.

Similar situation here. Prayers requested for the family and loved ones of a coworker (Jeff) who passed away a few days ago. Worked with him since 2009; he was at the office in Kentucky that I traveled to a few times each year. Very professional man who earned and gave much respect. Was in his late 50s. Gone too soon.

I recently resurrected and cleaned up a misting attachment for a hose and put it in the garden next to the fountain. We've had very hot, dry weather this summer and this will help the hummingbirds and dragonflies.
Our firebushes are in full bloom and the number and variety of bees visiting are amazing. The hum of them flitting around the flowers is audible. So the water helps them too.

For this, and several other reasons, consider replacing an electronic keypad on a safe with a good old fashioned 3 or 4 digit mechanical dial. They just work.

Similar situation here. Prayers requested for the family and loved ones of a coworker (Jeff) who passed away a few days ago. Worked with him since 2009; he was at the office in Kentucky that I traveled to a few times each year. Very professional man who earned and gave much respect. Was in his late 50s. Gone too soon.

What is not obvious from that statistic is most of the metro area (which is pretty much Bernalillo county) pretty safe (I lived in Rio Rancho and have been all over the city at all hours of the day). The bulk of the crime occurs along far west and far east Central Avenue and since 2019 you can add DT ABQ to the mix. The city has fallen apart over that few years and it has much to to do with the left wing city government. Remove that section of town and I bet the crime stats fall dramatically. Everything bad there is self inflicted and that too is a crime.

what Im hearing is they cheaped out on the dogs and the available ones are not high quality - so nowadays they will take an older dog and do some basic tracking and certify it and THAT'S IT
I have friends who do tracking (really just for a fun activity) and they train all the time, just constantly, to keep the dogs keen. those dogs might work! but INSURANCE - can only use the lame ones they have and haven't bothered to train with

It is mostly law and order around here. However the local police department is ill equipped to deal with anything other than petty crimes... non-violent ones. The number of murders around here has jumped significantly.
I think it is a direct result of the urban flight. The lifestyle I alluded to can sometimes be violent and unpredictable.
We discuss the situation in the cities as being unsustainable. I think the flight to the rural areas is accelerating and it's bringing some unwanted baggage along with it.

Armenia has shifted its orientation from being pro-Russia to pro-NATO (there is still a Russian military base in Armenia), so you have a bizarre set of alliances, with the United States and Iran backing Armenia, and Israel and possibly Russia backing Azerbaijan.
Fortunately, Victoria Nuland, the Angel of Death, has not been in Armenia and Azerbaijan since February, so there is still some hope for peace.
Interestingly, in the official description of Nuland's trip to both Armenia and Azerbaijan in February, one of the key purposes of the trip is to meet with "civil society" groups - i.e. Soros' people in the two counties.
