Book: Biden Scrapped The Plan to Get Kids Back to School In Early 2021 to Appease the Vile Cow Randi Weingarten

What a surprise.

President Biden dropped the administration's goal for kids returning to school post-pandemic in order to avoid conflict with a teachers' union boss, according to a new book.

The Atlantic writer [Frederick] Franklin Foer's latest book, "The Last Politician," revealed that Biden had cut the administration's goal after meeting with American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten.

"For the sake of avoiding conflict, especially conflict with an ally, the Biden administration trimmed its goal of returning kids to school to a fraction of what had been promised on the campaign trail," Foer wrote.

"The announcement came as an aside in a press conference," he continued. "Jen Psaki explained that Biden had really meant that he wanted more than half of the pre-K-to-8 schools to attend at least one in-person session a week by the end of his first hundred days."

"He was, in effect, conceding that for thousands of students, the rest of the school year would be lost to the pandemic," Foer wrote.

"It was the price of peace," Foer added.

Foer also wrote that on the first day of Biden's presidency, first lady Jill Biden invited Weingarten and National Education Association President Becky Pringle to the White House.

Seven days after meeting with the first lady in the White House, Weingarten received a call from the president at her home in New York.

"I am not abandoning you on schools. I want you to know that," Biden told Weingarten on the phone. The president also said he knew the teachers' union boss was under fire over schools reopening.

Note that Randi Weingartner has repeatedly lied, claiming that she was fighting to reopen schools, not close them down harder.

The book by F. F. Foer reveals that -- you're not going to believe this -- Kamala Harris has incredibly thin skin and spends most of her days gathering gossip from the staff about who might be criticizing her.

Some White House staff complained that Vice President Kamala Harris had "rabbit ears" for criticism, and it was a source of frustration in Biden's West Wing, according to Foer's book.

"Harris possessed what one of her colleagues described as 'rabbit ears,'" Foer wrote. "Whenever there was a hint of criticism of her -- either in the West Wing or in the press -- she seemed instantly aware of it."

"Rather than brushing it aside, she wanted to know who was speaking ill of her and what they were saying," Foer wrote, noting that when Harris "read a devastating story" on a news website "about her mismanagement of her team," the vice president "responded by briefly freezing out an aide whom she suspected of cooperating with reporters."

5 It will be interesting to see the reaction in the big blue cities when they try to close the schools again.

A substantial fraction of the students in big blue cities basically stopped attending school after the shutdowns, which helps explain the explosion in crime in those cities.

193 I think that promise was self-evidently something Biden just said to get elected.

Democrats say “I’m going to take a centrist approach to governance even if it harelips one of my biggest supporting constituencies!” when campaigning, and then when they get elected they drop that idea immediately.

Republicans say “I’m going to take a hard line common sense conservative approach to governance and I don’t care how many Democrats and media members get angry!” and then when they win they play failure theater and fundraise off their own intransigence.

196 Joe Biden’s Problem Isn’t His Age, It’s Our Age. Trump’s cruelty theater is distorting politics and people’s views of the president. It’s our age … of performative politics.

Is it strength for DeSantis to pick a fight with the Walt Disney Company, to reject an Advanced Placement course in black history, to stage a hostile takeover of a college, to dictate what teachers can and can’t say about the LGBTQ community? Is it strength for Trump to raise money off 91 felony counts, to praise foreign despots, to race DeSantis to the bottom on immigration, LGBTQ rights, and general authoritarian tendencies?

BIDEN IS THE ANTI-TRUMP, literally and metaphorically. After decades in the trenches of the Senate and vice presidency, he’s a steadfast upholder of norms—from supporting Ukraine and NATO to aiming for bipartisanship when possible. The fundamental assumptions on the right are Biden is out of it and his administration is incompetent. But they’re wrong, as objective reality—Biden’s public appearances and his record to date—clearly shows. I’d put Biden in the company of Truman, Eisenhower, and Bush, who accomplished a lot.

Here's a taste.

Ronald Reagan didn’t do that – his sunny optimism revolutionized conservatism in America. But the right’s tendency to always look on the dank side of life has not been thoroughly exorcised. It’s still there, right now, demoralizing and demotivating our people just when morale and motivation are exactly what we need.

Dooming fetishizes the inability to succeed. It repeats exactly what our enemies want to hear from us. Yet its practitioners often consider themselves edgy, posturing themselves as the only ones willing to make the hard choice for cynicism.

Baloney. Dooming is tiresome. It gets exhausting to hear people willfully ignoring and downplaying any hint of success so that no gleam of hope pierces the darkness of the hopeless future they anticipate.

204 Kneel before your new overlords! I'm surprised it was as high as five.

The American Mind article I took this factoid from notes that Biden is the face of the Old Democratic Party - the younger Democrat politicians are much farther to the Left, and are utterly race-obsessed.

If you are a young white male (particularly straight) interested in politics, your chances of rising to a significant (or even a less significant) position in the Democratic Party are now zero.

We're essentially arguing that the teachers are required for our children, and that we want them to get back to work on our dime.

These teachers suck. Our education system sucks. Our kids not going to school took a terrible situation and made it worse. We should be using this as evidence that a new model is necessary, not trying to get teachers to go back to what was, a system that drove American education into the ground.

248 The new mayor of Chicago (who is completely controlled by the teacher's union) fired the city health commissioner.

Her crime? Trying to reopen the schools earlier than the teacher's union wanted.

The teacher's union made sure to maximize the humiliation, of course:

After months of lobbying to keep her job, Dr. Allison Arwady, the health commissioner who steered Chicago through the COVID-19 pandemic, was fired Friday without ever getting a chance to meet with Mayor Brandon Johnson.

The termination was confirmed by Ronnie Reese, Johnson’s spokesman.

Arwady was told of the decision shortly after 5 p.m., a source told the Sun-Times. She still has never met with Johnson, the source said.

Another source familiar with the situation said Rich Guidice, Johnson’s chief of staff, delivered the news to Arwady, who did not have a chance to say goodbye to her staff.

These teachers suck. Our education system sucks. Our kids not going to school took a terrible situation and made it worse. We should be using this as evidence that a new model is necessary, not trying to get teachers to go back to what was, a system that drove American education into the ground.

This is to completely sidestep the question.

What has been done to make PA's elections more secure since 2020? If you want people who think that Democrats in key urban centers stole the 2020 election to think that something different is going to happen, you have offer some specifics.

What has been done to fix voting in Philly? Anything at all would be nice. Because, as we saw from 2022, nothing was done. 250,000 mail in ballots went out without authorization, and they were just there to be counted if necessary.

I'm actually not a Trump voter right now, but I also know that Philly has gotten worse. Can you point to one thing that, no matter the GOP candidate, will rein in Democrats from manufacturing votes in Philly? Or do you really believe that the zombies on the streets and the mass migration out of the cities has been properly maintained by Philly's voter rolls?

371 365 A lot of it is unfair, some is accurate. But in the end for whatever reason he's not going to bring enough votes across the finish line.

There is also an op to convince people the elections are completely unfair. That's mostly a voter suppression tactic, and it's only relevant in specific cases where fraud and irregularities have been identified.

In the end, Trump won't lose because of fraud. He'll lose the old fashioned way, by not getting enough votes. Ever single traditional measure of predicting votes is against him.

========

So, the election in Michigan will be an accurate representation of the will of the voters?

What has been done to stop Detroit precincts from saying there are 1,000 ballots in a box that only has 10 in it? We found out they do that in 2016 through Jill Stein's lawsuit, and nothing's been done to fix that. And, in the interim, Democrats have secured power within the highest levels of government in the state which, combined with their increased powers over elections through covid shenanigans, seems to make the results more quesitonable now than before.

The big problem being that he'll get more than any other (R) candidate, and it's going to be even harder to win with 52M votes for Not Trump.

The (D)s probably won't even have to stop counting ballots for anyone else.

378 This is to completely sidestep the question.
