I've Got Mad Stacks Cafe

Day four of Sea Stack Appreciation Week is traditionally known, in the Orthodox religion, as "Double Shot Sea Stack Day" or "Big Thursday."

oldmanofhoyorkneyscotland.jpg

bowfiddlerockscotland.jpg
Bow Fiddle Rock, Scotland

i can halp (and by "halp" i mean make a huge mess)

It's good to be the king.

Dog looks like how I feel.

Duncanthrax won't like this but most others appreciate a good snow-bat.

As Golda Meir said, capybaras are the dogs of the rodent family.

This is some kind of Matrix ish right here.

Invisibility is not magic. It's just being aware of your environment.

WHOA! HEY! WHO IS THAT HANDSOME FELLA?!?!

Wait, that fella isn't handsome, this fella is handsome, and has the certificate to prove it.

Dogs so adorably cute they look creepy, if I'm being honest. Like they're robots made by a demon. It's the Un-canine Valley.

He has tone, he is locked in and ready to fire.

Mommy have I made it pretty now?

Little something for the girls, little somethn'-somethin' for the boys.

A paw got out of line, and the cat was forced to respond with maximum force.

Heh. When I played college football, I had to have my legs shaved below the knee and both ankles wrapped & taped tightly with pre-wrap followed by adhesive tape with stirrups going all the way up both sides to the knee.

Of course, this resulted in me having a couple of knee injuries when I'd step in a hole on the field -- and instead of my ankle flexing & giving, the knee would flex and give.

I can twist my ankle walking down a street by stepping on a pebble or small crack -- but my ligaments now are like stretched rubber bands.

Think they postulate now that the Dover breakthru was a North Sea Tsunami.

There was a bigger and longer one when Gibraltar broke open and the totally dried out Mediterranean sea started to refill.

Right. The male swimmer would shave ALL of their body hair IYKWIMAITYD to get that little extra edge in the pool.

[Funny story: about 15 years ago I was out of work and decided to make some quick cash -- $3500 for a week -- participating in a clinical trial of some pharmaceutical.

Best part was: of the group of 30 participants, only two would get the placebo. On Day One of the morning dosing (and each subsequent day), by mid-afternoon -- as we were all hanging out in a large social area with games, TV, etc. -- everybody else besides me and one woman would sleepily head of to their rooms to crash. We kind of figured out who got the placebos ...]

Anywho, wifey LOVES my luxurious chest hair. They were attempting daily to do EKG measurements, but the pads wouldn't stick -- so made me shave off my chest hair! When I called to tell my bride, she reacted as if she had received news of a death in the family. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" LOL.

There wasn't an Atlantic back then, it was a different ocean some billion years ago and near the equator when they merged and formed a mountain range. Sometime later, at the latest the time of the dinosaurs split due to a huge magma ridge breaking the supercontinent up. This ridge is the motor pushing America west and Europe East with the Atlantic forming between.

The west side of America (about in Wyoming then) then started snowplowing fragments of ocean bottom and offshore islands onto itself and over time build the western states to the current coast.

Thanks for the update, Prayers continue.

Have a good night, everyone. I'm tired. I was at a campaign event for a couple of hours. I am happy to say that there are many people who are registered Republicans or Indy's who tend to vote Republican who are very nice people, and I hadn't met them before I became a Republican.

256 Back in my Navy Days, Like a good swingin dick, I could match the Chiefs by coffee consumption with a pot + 1/2 per day.

Now a days...I keep it to 2 cups. The bladder gets smaller as you get on in age and those 3 AM wake ups do indeed suck.

258 Fen, I see you are trying to cut down your caffeine. I've done it a bunch of times for various reasons, and I've always tapered off by mixing in decaf coffee. I've never gotten headaches from doing that.

I just started with 3/4 regular, 1/4 decaf for a few days, then went to 1/2 and 1/2 a few days, then 1/4 and 3/4, then no caffeine.

I have two mugs of coffee per day, so not an extraordinary amount, but this gradual tapering worked well for me.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at August 31, 2023 09:23 PM (RSbhh)

It really depends on how much you drink and how well you tolerate it. It can be mild headaches or it can be worse ones, but it is not like getting DTs or going cold turkey on opiates.
If you get a headache, then drink some coffee. You can arrange for a taper yourself, drink half a cup at a time, or just one when you had two.

278 Once, in the Navy, I drank nine cups of coffee in a day. I was high on caffeine for three days after.

I can’t do that crap anymore.

Over-indulgence in caffeine, as with that in alcohol, tends to self-correct with age.

By the end of those we were popping 4 or 5 No-Doz into shit coffee from a mermite topped off with 2 pack of Instant Folgers and flavored with the shit hot chocolate from an MRE.

I'm truly amazed I am still alive.

Now I do 2 cups in the AM, water until I get off work then as much beer as I can tolerate until bed time.

>>Everything climate related is turning out false including all the records and overseas reporting.

All of the historical data is now corrupted garbage as the Climate Lunatics have gone back and "harmonized" the data, ie altering the record to make the past cooler so the current temperatures seem warmer.

Also the Climate Lunatics refuse to use satellite temperature data which is more accurate and punches holes in their bullsh*t nonsense and instead rely on earth station data which is largely garbage.

300 Panama canal is, in fact, powered by rainfall
Lack of rainfall indicates there is not enough water to drain into the locks
If there is no water to drain into the locks, all traffic slows down.
