This is ridiculous, and reveals a near total misapprehension of this entire situation by whoever says that kind of thing. The left has no fear of him, nor should they. from the moment he beat Hill Dawg, he was just a pig in the Party's poke. They easily contained him. The GOP faction stymied his entire agenda in Congress, while the Dem faction hamstrung him with nonstop investigations. He was isolated and sidelined with alacrity, before they deposed him in a coup. If he, or any outsider, overcomes the staggering odds and somehow wins another 'election,' this will be repeated. Or they'll just quit wasting time, and shoot the guy. Who's going to question it, at this point? None of this was ever about fear of a bombastic billionaire dilettante. It was about fear of *us.* The Party thought they had this country completely sewn up. When he chewed up and spit out all their candidates from Jeb to Hillary, they realized they'd overestimated the degree of control they held. Everything since then has been about putting us in our places and demonstrating their absolute power to the restive masses.Yup.
A coup d’etat is when a small group of people suddenly try to take power and subjugate a nation by force. A coup du publique is when a small group of people already in power try to further subjugate an entire population by methodically taking away whatever rights they may have left. That global sense of unease, that nearly audible universal skincrawl taking place across the planet, that unquestionable deprivation of the right to ask questions, that which is happening right now: that is the coup du publique in action. In a run-of-the-mill coup d’etat, it is axiomatic that the people staging the coup seize the radio station, usually even before they track down and meat hook the unfortunate Great Leader of the People and Terror of the Nation’s Enemies and President For Life and replace him with some other Grand High Dirtbag. . . . . . In a sense, a coup is the opposite of a revolution in that it thrives not on the active involvement of the citizenry, but its passive isolation, unlike in popular uprisings and protests. For example, besides the fact that it was over in time for dinner, that Jan. 6 participants called the next day asking if they could stop by to pick up jackets they left behind, that a significant percentage of the participants were being paid by certain government agencies to be there, that participants stood around taking pictures of statues, and that the police on scene may have allowed a large proportion of the protestors in is why the tragic stupidity of January 6 was not a coup or an insurrection or anything more than a stupid thoughtless gift to the Democrats and their deep state allies. But what if you flip that script just a tiny bit and make sure that – before any other planning, ally recruiting, etc., is even started – you made sure to quietly, incrementally take control of the information infrastructure first? A few years ago, that meant radio and television stations and phone company HQ – today that means the internet as it is all three in one. And if instead of overthrowing a government, you did this to ensure a government’s survival and expansion – the public be damned. Then you would not have a coup d’etat but a coup du publique. And that is what is happening in real time around the world right now. But this coup is not replacing the government – it is replacing the people. . . . . . This coup is not one of bullets but of butter, brains, and banishment. It does not promise an escape from the tyranny of the past but brazenly proclaims a new tyranny, under which people will be forcibly cared for from cradle to grave. The American Revolution revolved around individuals asserting their rights to create a new system of governance: We the People. I think the most revelatory thing about the entire debate for me was Burgum. Not that he did great shakes on the stage, but that he a.) existed at all and b.) wasn't obviously crazy or evil. He's the only one that I think totally helped himself last night, in that Vivek and DeSantis lived up to expectations but we already knew they were pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised to see him either get heavily promoted by the controlled opposition as an alternative or end up in a Cabinet role, depending on whether or not he really IS worthwhile.
Asa Hutchinson is an embarrassment to the South. I'd rather vote for the Jersey Devil than Chris Christie. No big surprise there.

My point being; of the millions of guns registered there's some percentage that are in the hands of people willing to side with FedGov as they did during the great masking of 2020-2022.

I don't feel particularly brave, but thanks. It comes with the territory-that if one is one a conservative blog, there will be people who object to women pastors, others who want to get into debates about theology which I don't do (As far as Christians, If people confess with their lips and believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead, they're my sister or brother) and since half my family background is Jewish I appreciate the Jewish brothers and sisters here too. But, yes, I notice that there are no other pastors posting here. Either they have much larger churches-which wouldn't be hard
or they are wiser than I am.
Why do I post here? Because I appreciate a place where people are conservative (even if I don't always agree with them on everything), and people here are funny, kindly and prayerful people who have helped others here including my church.

I don't feel particularly brave, but thanks. It comes with the territory-that if one is one a conservative blog, there will be people who object to women pastors, others who want to get into debates about theology which I don't do (As far as Christians, If people confess with their lips and believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead, they're my sister or brother) and since half my family background is Jewish I appreciate the Jewish brothers and sisters here too. But, yes, I notice that there are no other pastors posting here. Either they have much larger churches-which wouldn't be hard
or they are wiser than I am.
Why do I post here? Because I appreciate a place where people are conservative (even if I don't always agree with them on everything), and people here are funny, kindly and prayerful people who have helped others here including my church.
Also, I hope that something I post here in the tech thread might be helpful to others.

I would hope that a sizeable percentage of the population learned from the covid experience that they were fed a line of bullshit and won't go along again with the mask mandates. If figures are available for how many people are getting the covid vaccine, especially those getting it for the first time, and without a mandate from an employer, that would be an indication of the sheeple status of the US. Some like a good friend will do it as soon as the feds tell him to, however I hope that's a small percentage of the population.

Hell when I lived in Chicago you were only allowed one choice depending on what building you lived in, even if the other side of the street had the other provider at lower rates. As soon as another realistic option came along it became unsustainable but those people are dinosaurs and could never dream up a scenario in which theyd lose their sub fees. And now ESPN is gonna be sold for less than a song.

The other thing that last night's sturm und drang underscored was not only the utter uselessness of the format, but more to the point the utter uselessness of being elected President if your mission is to go against those who are really running the country, and for all intents and purposes have been running it since at least the end of World War 2: the unelected and unaccountable Bureaucracy. Even the two presidents that tried with varying degrees of success to reverse course, Reagan and Trump, perhaps only slowed things down.

Reagan's goal was not so much breaking teeth off of the Deep State ratchet, but was rather the destruction of the USSR. He accomplished his goal (though it took longer than his administration to reach full flower). He also capitulated on a lot of domestic affairs - immigration most of all. He didn't go after the bureaucracy other than perhaps the PATCO incident. He didn't go after the IC at all, nor was he wary of foreign military action. Reagan was, mostly for good reasons, fairly world-focused rather than mostly domestic-focused.

What is *not* uncontrollable, however, are the great platforms. You don't *have* to use the platforms - the rest of the internet did not vanish with the advent of Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr and Mastodon and YouTube and the like - but most people do. They lowered the barriers to entry and people flocked to them, then network effects took care of the rest.
The internet is not social media, but for all intents and purposes, that doesn't matter anymore. Control the great platforms, control the internet in terms of what matters.

What is *not* uncontrollable, however, are the great platforms. You don't *have* to use the platforms - the rest of the internet did not vanish with the advent of Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr and Mastodon and YouTube and the like - but most people do. They lowered the barriers to entry and people flocked to them, then network effects took care of the rest.
The internet is not social media, but for all intents and purposes, that doesn't matter anymore. Control the great platforms, control the internet in terms of what matters.

Trump "surrendering" to Fulton county DA is propaganda. For both sides. Trump's doing it because of course he is. He's not going to jail. At least not anytime soon. If the Secret Service is really on the up-n-up with him they would not let him go if they suspected foul play.

The Army was savvy. Securitate/Ceausescu were obviously done. It was seize power now and be heros, or get swept up along with the rest. So they did it, and remain in charge today. Bezmenov's "Triangle of Power and Hate" cracked under outside pressure.

I disagree. His "Triangle of Power and Hate" (which was brilliantly described by him) fractured under internal pressure in the absence of external support from the now-dissolved (albeit very recently) USSR. If the USSR hadn't fallen, Romania might not have. That coup probably wouldn't have happened, since the military - who indeed would have been swept up in the coming conflagration - likely would have been reinforced by Moscow and so probably wouldn't have executed the coup.
But there's no way to prove any of it, just historical wonderings.

That of course is an exaggeration-400. I don't think anyone has the number of partners except for some really promiscous gay men and even that is a hard number to believe, but I don't see why it's any better from men to be sexually promiscuous (I mean, on a huge level) than it is for women.

That is obviously false. One of the signature achievements of President Trump was signing into law the major tax reform bill passed by the Redpublican-controlled House and Senate. It reduced the tax rates for lower, middle and upper middle earners, and raised them on the wealthy. There had been no tax reform for 30+ years.
It is one of President Trump's most important accomplishments.
