Illegal Immigrant On Run After Murdering Leftwing Activist Girlfriend;
The DHS Had Released Him After a Kidnapping Charge in 2018

So it's too bad that this murder happened but -- who did you vote for? Did you vote for this?

Illegal migrant on the run after allegedly murdering activist girlfriend following kidnapping

The Homeland Security Department released him two years ago after he pleaded guilty to kidnapping a woman in 2018.

Officials are searching for an illegal migrant suspected of murdering his social justice activist girlfriend in Illinois -- less than two years after immigration officials released him after he pleaded guilty to kidnapping an ex-girlfriend.

Gabriel Calixto Pichardo, 25, is accused of fatally stabbing Emma Shafer, 24, in her Springfield home in July. He is wanted on three first-degree murder charges and one aggravated domestic battery charge.

Federal agents are working alongside the Springfield, Ill., Police Department to track down Calixto Picardo. A spokesperson for the U.S. Marshals Service told Just the News on Monday that the agency does not have any confirmation as to whether Pichardo is or is not currently in the United States.

Shafer was the membership chair of the Sierra Club Sangamon Valley Group, an environmental group, and an incoming board member for the Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network, which helps migrants in the area, according to her obituary. Shafer also was an organizer with Faith Coalition for the Common Good, which says on its website that it fights for racial and economic justice.

The Marshals Service confirmed to Just the News that he had a previous kidnapping charge.

Documents related to that 2018 incident show that Calixto Pichardo previously said his mother was fleeing abuse in Mexico when she brought him to the United States at the age of 5 and he was granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status a decade later.

Kathryn O'Brien told local outlet WAND last week that she dated Calixto Pichardo in high school and he stalked her after she broke up with him. He eventually went to her grandmother's house and held a knife to her throat, and O'Brien filed a restraining order against him, as shown in court filings.

Shortly thereafter, Calixto Picardo used a gun to force her into his car, she said. He brought her to a motel where he threatened to rape her, and police records show he also had rope and a knife.

Ah the "Dreamers," the beautiful Dreamers. Truly the best of us.

Notice he was released in 2018. This was of course during the "strong" presidency of Trump, who is not "strong" enough to actually bend the federal bureaucracy to his will. And who was then, and is now, far more interested in surfing Twitter and watching his palz on Fox News than keeping updated on his priorities and riding herd on the bureaucracy.

But he'll be better at it next time despite 1, not admitting any flaws that caused him to fail at this last time, and therefore not creating the possibility of actual improvement, and 2, despite not actually offering any plan to better tame the Swamp (I think we can write off the possibility of "draining" it) other than just announcing emptily that he will be "strong."

38 Okay, I don't know how Trump is responsible for an illegal immigrant crossing into the country under George W Bush before being granted DACA status under Barack Obama, and released after negotiating a plea deal under Illinois law, but I'll bite. What exactly do you want? Have him ignore the courts and simply begin repatriating Americans without green cards or citizenship? Because that actually sounds pretty awesome, and I support it.

Ron DeSantis, of course, will promise to ban abortion, kill all the illegals, and start slitting throats in the federal bureaucracy. Why aren't we talking about his actual policy, like knuckling under to Joe Biden's election fraud? Because no one cares. RDS is over, and that became obvious even earlier than it did for Kamala Harris. It's breathtaking, when you think about it.

Let's pretend like "bending the federal bureaucracy" to a president's will is a simple as just saying the word, giving the nod, and signing the order.

But let's pretend even further. Let's pretend like Ron DeSantis is not the obvious GOPe stooge he is. Let's pretend like Ron is really his own man. And whatever we do, let's pretend like his campaign hasn't completely imploded.

He was not strong enough to bend the bureaucracy to his will. I don't think anyone is. Trump, DeSantis, Candidate X - Leviathan will *not* be tamed. Only Congress can maybe do it, through outright defunding and playing chicken with debt default and refusing to blink, come hell or high water. Even that might fail. I think one of the reasons that Congress does not ever do this is that they fear that bureaucracy will just ignore them, issue the bonds, and proceed along anyway.

Trump failed to tame the agencies, but I don't think his failure was unique. We don't know - there is only one data point - but I don't think anyone can do it. It will consume, loot and oppress until the wheels come off.

He commuted the sentence of Shiloh Rubashkin , the owner of a Kosher meat packing plant that knowingly employed hundreds of illegal aliens. He was convicted of bank fraud and money laundering and sentenced to 27 years.

To be fair a lot of other Dems and some Republicans supported it. But they all ignored the employment of the illegal aliens of course.

On the otherhand, as we've also seen with Trump, is he'll probably endorse Nancy Pelosi in 2028, because she once said he had nice handwriting, or something else that boosted his ego.

Holding a knife to the throat is the easy case, and even then it's hard to get the victim to press charges and testify. But apart from these obvious cases, it's hard to weed out the actual stalker complaints from those which are designed to make an innocent guy's life miserable. There are so many fake or embellished claims that when a real one is made, it can get lost in the shuffle.

Will it be just forgotten that Detroit says there are 1,000 ballots in a box with just ten? Will Kemp cover for Atlanta workers who pass the same ballot through hundreds of times?

All of these things will happen no matter who the Republican candidate is.

119 He pleaded guilty to kidnapping and was sentenced to six years behind bars. His DACA status expired in 2019 while he was in prison, and he was no longer eligible for the program because he had committed a felony.

When Calixto Picardo's kidnapping conviction was vacated in October 2020, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was released from prison.

He was arrested in May 2021 on a federal improper entry charge. He then applied for asylum, citing his mental illness.

Officials released him in August of that year. Court documents show U.S. attorneys declined to prosecute him for improper entry, according to documents reviewed by the local outlet.

Released no sooner than October 2020, rearrested and rereleased in 2021. At worst, the Trump-era DHS wasn't on the ball with detaining after his release. The exact timeline here is unclear.

Primaries don't necessarily choose the best candidate, they just choose who is favorite amongst the more hardcore in the party. The total primary vote is less than half of the usual party vote.

Trump will win in the primaries easily because he had the biggest fan base, and those 15 million voters couldn't win shit without the other 55+ million he'll need in ther election.

The only difference is people voting for DeSantis will probably be okay voting for Trump, or even hold their nose and do so for the good of the country. Posted by: ace at August 08, 2023 02:30 PM (KRtlO)

I don't know about any other OnlyTrumpers, but for me, if Trump loses in '24, I know that it will be due to cheating and rigging by the Dems/MSM. My hope then will be that it reviles even the LIV Dems enough to want to reform the system, because then we'll officially be the world's laughingstock.

I don't want Trump to run after that, however. My hope would have been that DeSantis was smart enough to take up the election reform mantle and take the Trump voting bloc for his own, giving him momentum going into 2028 as the presumptive nominee. Unfortunately, his RiNO paymasters dictated that he not follow that obvious strategy.

So, after 2024, I've got nuthin'.

I literally don't give a shit about those differences.

If this is a Trump/DeSantis flame war about who did worse on covid, well, DeSantis shut down Florida. He succumbed to pressure, wherever it came from, and he did it. Trump also never fired Fauci. They both sucked on covid.

The idea that Noem didn't have pressure is silly. The NCAA got her to cave on trannies in sports, for pete's sake. She stood strong on covid. Good for her. I'd never vote for her, but she did the right thing.

180 Primaries don't necessarily choose the best candidate, they just choose who is favorite amongst the more hardcore in the party.

I wouldn't say you reap what you sow, because i do think Trump is being unfairly treated and what they're doing to him is the biggest crime against our democracy, but Trump had no problem basically tossing every Jan 6 defendant under the bus, now he cries that people are defending him.

Trump is a reformer, not a revolutionary. How effective a reformer he is or was is debatable, but not *what* he is.

DeSantis is also a reformer. Ramaswamy is more of an unknown, but he seems to be big on reform, too.

I also think reform is impossible at this point, so it's all basically noise. Trump, DeSantis, Candidate X, whoever. If he wins, he will be unable to break Leviathan to his will. I am very interested in state races next year and perhaps some of the congressional races, but I doubt it. As far as president goes, I don't really care. It's a false prize. A non-accelerationist might buy a couple of more years, but there will be no meaningful change.

My post was about the primaries, where Trump got 14 million votes, not 74 million.

As I said, if the GoP put up a potato in 2020 it would have recieved 60 million votes, because those 14 million Trump voters would have sat home and cried, instead of doing what's right for the country.

Candidate A losing to Candidate B in the primaries doesn't mean Candidate A can't win in the general, because the primaries is just a battle of who can get the most votes from the hardcore fringes.

Really? So DJT got +74mil votes and Biden got +81mil. Ok. Ok.

So of those 81mil Biden votes, how many were anti-DJT?

Has there ever been a candidate who has mobilized that many votes against him while also mobilizing a record number himself?

Because this argument seems facially preposterous to me.

Remember Biden didn't even campaign so he got fewer pro-Biden votes than he would have normally.

Did DJT mobilize +35mil anti-DJT voters?

Ok, outline a reasonable path for electoral victory for DeSantis? We already know the knock on Trump, he will lose the swing states of MI, WI, PA, AZ, NV, and GA and perhaps VA. How will DeSantis improve on Trump's voting performance t in those states or mention where any other blue state that DeSantis will move to the GOP column.

Unless you take immediate action to purge voting lists like OH or FL, not sure you can get there.

Don't worry-- he absolutely protects the sanctity and privacy of their marriage. As far as I can tell, there is no detailed description of actually porking Valerie Plame, Super-Spy.

God. A fifty year old man still telling hero stories, and about his fucking wife to boot. Gee, Joe, did you go under the shirt, over the bra? I feel like I'm in the The Breakfast Club, but starring fat, old people.

363 I'd prefer another candidate, but I'll vote for Trump, assuming, as he probably will be, that he's the nominee. I don't think he can repeat the numbers he got last time. The indictments, criminal proceedings, and other trials will take a toll. They shouldn't because it's all transparent bullshit. But I don't really have a lot of faith in the American public's bullshit detection abilities any longer. Lots of middlebrow know-nothings simply are not going to vote for someone who's likely to end up in a cell. (I on the other hand relish the idea. Having our gangster government run from prison like MS-13 or the mafia makes perfect sense to me.) Probably no GOPer has even the slightest hope of winning the White House unless the economy absolutely implodes between now and then.

427 The Oval office occupant is secondary to who sits in the Attorney General position. Because, by holding the DOJ (and by extension...the FBI) as a political tool, nothing can get cleaned up sufficiently.

To further complicate matters is that you could have the single most conservative, moral and honest president. But, the Senate will NOT approve any nomination for the Attorney General position that does not benefit them personally. A demolition ball AG would never get past the senate.

This is doubly so if Trump is the one serving up the potential candidate.

434 Trump supporters always claim that everyone is as repelled by DeSantis, and therefore the election would be no different than DeSantis. They are ALWAYS minimizing/denying Trump's OBVIOUS problems.

No, no one hates DeSantis that much. Except Trump himself, and his more febrile supporters, who cannot stand the idea that a better, smarter, more talented executive would DARE to challenge Captain Fuck-Up.

So we have to pretend that everyone has all of the same liabilities of trump, being hated by a majority of the country, being on the hook for several real crimes (and many more imagined ones)... everyone's got all of Trump's flaws, and everyone else would fail just as hard as he would.

Would DeSantis blow off keeping an eye on the bureaucracy, allowing his employees to subvert him, allowing democrats to rig an election over the course of a year? Trump had a YEAR to stop this.

Of course Trump's supporters will claim "yes, DeSantis is just as flawed as trump in all of these ways, so why not go with Trump?"

He said both Trump's org and McDaniel at the RNC seem to not care one bit about trying to actually fight election fraud or build a way to combat it with legal ballot harvesting, they just want the same old same old, probably because it's easier to fund raise off of claiming you were robbed.

I also think that the idea that suburban women are natural Republican voters at this point is off base. They're cultural Democrats first and foremost. They may make noises about voting for a good Republican, but their cultural markers will all tell them that the good, moderate Republican from Massachusetts wants to put women in binders and strap your dog to the top of his car.

This isn't difficult stuff and that needle could be threaded. He really hasn't handled this situation well.

I can see that helping the GOP in the college graduate or higher education but hurting among working class whites or minorities. Being against perverts or Devil Mouse is not enough--simply put--what is in it for the working classes via jobs, not getting sent to foreign lands to be killed, and so on. Romney failed this test and for DeSantis to win in Nov. he has to stiff the donor class and GOPe types that will become in turn Never DeSantis.

There's a preposterous double-stadard at work here, so I'm not going to play along with the notion that Trump is the problem here. And though I think Trump makes some of his own troubles, he has not really done so here in any unique way. The Dems have been floating the idea of prosecuting Abbott and Desantis for transporting illegals to other states. You really think they won't try? The point is this: the Dems are very much in "show me the man and I'll show you the crime" mode. And this is nothing new. In Texas we saw this same shit with Kay Bailey-Hutchison, Tom Delay, Rick Perry, and Ken Paxton. They will criminally charge any GOPer on any pretext, and never do likewise with Dems. It's unreasonable to pretend that Trump is some sort of criminal deserving of prosecution, or that other GOPers will not receive the same treatment.

Yeah ther current responses to everything seems to be:

We were cheated in 2020, and we'd couldn't fight it because the DoJ is corrupt, and we can't investigate it because the media is corrupt, and we can't get thr evidence because the local voting commission's are corrupt.

And yeah that's true, but seeing nothing had changed, what have you (the candidate) done to combat it this time.

And the answer seems to be absolutely nothing.

They know how everything is corrupt, know nothing is change, but are content with trying again, which doesn't sound like someone who really expects to win.

You're as guilty of blind DeSantis support as you accuse Trump supporters of being toward Trump. DC is not friendly Florida and they would fight Ron ever bit as hard as they fought Trump assuming Ron actually fought them. And we have no way of knowing if he would be more or less successful than Trump.

You clearly believe he would be but that doesn't make you right and Trump supporters wrong. We can still be on the same side and disagree about who we think would be the best advocate for our side.

487 Well here's the thing. Unless Ron Desantis has a very very big list of hatchet men to man the DOJ, State Dept, Treasury, etc, etc, etc, he's going to find himself in the same predicament as Trump. The Swamp found out during the Trump presidency that they will have cover to work against the executive. How many approving articles did we get about some flunky in agency ABC basically telling the political appointees, "up yours?"

And then we even get his political appointees trying to undermine him (and yes he was effing bad at personnel.) Remember the Sec of the Navy resignation due to the Eddie Gallagher crap?

Yes indeed Trump was bad at personnel, but it seems to me that nobody is going to drain that swamp. I'd give Ron a shot, but his campaign isn't looking very healthy at the moment. Not looking good for anyone who is concerned about the direction of this country.

488 To further complicate matters is that you could have the single most conservative, moral and honest president. But, the Senate will NOT approve any nomination for the Attorney General position that does not benefit them personally. A demolition ball AG would never get past the senate.

Especially with a (D) Senate. RDS had the privilege of having a (R) legislature that is very friendly to conservative issues. This will not be case for anyone sentenced to four years of Babylon DC.

I'm hoping that sclerosis wins in the federal elections and the individual states self-sort into regional socioeconomic hegemonies.

Ballots =/= voters

Statistically proven at least 6M of Biden's votes were fraudulent.

If Trump repels more than he attracts, how does that square with that Trump rally in rural PA with over 50,000 in attendance?

Where are those 150,000 Trump haters? Biden was holding rallies with less than 50 people there.

Trump is polling better than he did in 2020, which means the fraud will be larger in 2024 as they again tell us that Biden really did get 95 million votes this time.

It's all theater.

Ergo You can't really get an accurate picture of how DeSantis would do electorally because the process only just got started. It's why Trump and his liege are out there planting stories and trying to define him. But what you do have is a pretty good idea how Trump will turnout, because there is lots of data. Data that doesn't work in his favor. This really isn't that hard.
