Christian teenage boy was arrested in Wisconsin over the weekend as he read bible passages outside of an "all ages" Drag Queen Dance Party and Drag Storytime Hour. Police officers in Watertown, Wisconsin were captured on video pulling the boy's microphone out of his hands and walking him away in handcuffs.
Marcus Schroeder, 19, a student at the Institute of Theology in Cape Coral, Florida, told American Greatness in a telephone interview that the police gave him no warning before they cracked down on him and his friends. The teen said he was taken to the police station and cited with unlawful use of sound amplification, and resisting arrest. Schroeder said he was fined "almost $200" for the sound amplification charge and another $500 for resisting arrest. He told American Greatness that he intends to fight the charges in court and some good law firms have already offered to help him.
Two other young people, Nick Proell and Margaret Trewhella, were also briefly detained and released later with a warning.
The drag event was part of the small town's second annual "Pride in the Park."
As reported by The Sentinel, the boys are members of Mercy Seat Christian Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin and were among more than 200 individuals from various groups assembled to protest the city-sanctioned drag show. The event featured transvestites strutting provocatively in front of children.
The Wisconsin chapter of Gays Against Groomers was among the groups protesting the event. The group posted a video on X of one individual wearing a skimpy outfit in front of the kids. "Why dress like this knowing the audience will be children?" GAG Wisconsin wrote.
A group of provocateurs dressed as Nazis and carrying cartoonish swastika flags also attended the protest.

The media focused on them, of course, as did leftwing groomer governor Tony Evans.

"LGBTQ Wisconsinites deserve to be treated with dignity, decency, kindness, and respect just like every other Wisconsinite," he said. "They deserve to be safe being who they are without fear or threat of shame, harassment, intimidation, or violence."
When asked if he thought the Nazis were real, or left-wing provocateurs, Schroeder told American Greatness that he thought they were provocateurs.
"There's no other reason why they'd only show up for 20 minutes and leave after getting their press," he said.

I remember BLM using audio amplifiers while going through neighborhoods at night - now that can be illegal, but it wasn't enforced. I think they were chanting "no justice, no sleep." I don't think there was one arrest for that behavior.

I noticed the same kind of glee when officers were enforcing mask mandates.

Yeah, the police are to blame for their response. One officer walked up behind and grabbed the kid by the shoulders in what I interpreted as a light, fairly casual intervention.

Kid keeps reading into the mic, maybe he doesn't know it's a cop, maybe he does and doesn't care. Either way, it's kind of a dick move, but whatever, cops deal with worse all the time.

Then, Officer Tough Guy tries to snatch the mic, starts pulling power cords, etc. Because authority. And because the kid is tiny and he knows this crowd isn't going to respond.

They weren't trying to jazz it up to sound more ecclesiastical. They were trying to sound as grounded and level headed and evidentiary as possible. (Ok, not Revelations, but that's its own can of soup).

They knew what they were writing was important, that it could stand on its own without puffery, and made it so that even a little kid could read it plainly as a rebuke to degenerates and monsters turning everything around them to shit.

Sadly none of the degens are quite up on their koine greek these days.

I don't think this was Left/Right. Many in small, sane towns have good cops. (or had?) Even NYC had relatively sane police in the 70s and 80s as long as you were not a criminal (ie, no harassment of people going about their day. No traffic harassment, etc.)

The Left was not against the storm troopers or the unions bullshit or the violation of rights, they were against cops enforcing laws (against hippies, queers, criminals, etc.)

during the useless lockdowns my neighbor had a block party. There was a group of guys who were the "breakfast club" at the lcoal cafe, since they couldn't go inside, they would bring their lawn chairs and trucks and tailgate on the sidewalk outside the diner. Nobody bothered them.

My chief of police and sheriff (two separate people) basically did that as well with the mask edict. They said we will enforce your bullshit edict but only if we have nothing else going on. And weirdly enough they always had something else going on. IIRC there were two people given citations for not wearing a mask in the year or so the city council edict was in force. This during a time when maybe 25% of the population wore masks.

ANYWAY, I can't help but laugh when he insults them, giving them the finger, or calling them pieces of shit, sheep, or dumbasses. Once he told a cop that he needed to remove his mustache because those were for men.

Even though he can be a giant asshole, his is respectful to the cops who respect his rights.

There is some current drama regarding him, in his quest to get public records. The cops seem to be setting him up to get whacked, by labeling him as a potential gang member.
