Whistleblower: Disney Institued a Wokenss Monitoring System, Requiring Employees to Attend Nonstop Woke Identity Politics Lectures and Keep a "Virtue Diary" of All Their Leftwing Activism
WDW_Pro has a whistleblower who informs him of this. The whistelblower turned over PowerPoint slides of various woke sermons employees were required to attend.
According to the whistleblower: Since the summer of 2020, employees at Disney were required to keep DEI "virtue diaries" documenting their actions in service of the cause. Their continuing employment, opportunities for advancement, bonuses and salary increases were all dependent on showing this "virtue diary" and documenting all the DEI meetings and conferences they attended. In other words, if you wanted to keep your job, you were required to participate in the DEI indoctrination sessions. The whistleblower further reveals that when the "My Not-So-Secret-Gay Agenda" videos from Disney's woke "Reimagine Tomorrow" initiative were leaked, former "Chief Diversity Officer" Thon Newton issued the official corporate lie that these videos were "fake news" and instructed Disney employees to deny that they were real. The whistleblower then revealed that if Disney's DEI Police saw a Disney employee making any kind of traditionalist or conservative statement online, that person would be summoned to a Human Resources "meeting" and demanded to explain why they transgressed against the one true faith. WDW_Pro notes that this intolerable intolerance had the desired effect of driving away almost all conservative-leaning or committed Christian workers at Disney. Disney, if these reports are true, purged all of its conservative-leaning people -- but still insists its movie are "for everybody" and that any conservative who chooses to boycott this vicious Marxist indoctrination factory is a bigot or prude. The whistlebower says that Thon Newton also instituted a policy in which any minority -- a member of the DEI coalition -- must be seriously considered for any job he or she applied for, even if he lacked the very most basic, essential requirements for the job. Even for highly technical positions, job prerequisites were waved for DEI candidates. The whistleblower also revealed that Disney changed its bonus payment schedule for jobs like advertising sales. Where previously your bonus was just based on how much advertising space you sold, Disney changed it MBO (Management by Objective) system to include bonuses for such things as "Championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," rather than actually increasing the value of the company and stockholder value. To receive qualify for this bonus, you were required to attend their biweekly diversity indoctrination sessions. (And note it in your "virtue diary," I assume.) WDW_Pro provides pictures of what the whistleblower says are Disney's corporate materials specifying these special bonuses-for-being-leftwing. That video below, and Valiant Renegade's follow-up.

And they claim the objective here is to find a solid legal predicate for firing Kathleen Kennedy. Apparently her contract says she can only be fired for moral turpitude or actual criminality, not poor performance. One of them speculated that maybe George Lucas originally fought for this provision, because when he sold Star Wars to the Mouse, he thought that Kathleen Kennedy was going to be his ringer on the inside, protecting his creation from the "white slavers" of Disney. Boy, did he turn out wrong on that one! Anyway, they claim that LucasFilm employees are being grilled about personal expenditures made with LucasFilm company cards. Is any of that true? I don't know, who can tell any longer. Pasha's source "Sparrow" sounded like someone who knew what he was talking about, but "Sparrow's" tips -- like Kathleen Kennedy's "Viking Funeral" sendoff at a Disney convention in May -- have turned out to be a bust.

Well here's the problem with that.....there are no residuals because if the streaming companies have to report actual numbers of real human viewers for their service to be able to pay everyone involved in the production of a movie they would tank.
The streaming services are over inflating the number of subscribers by a huge number just to keep their stock prices propped up. If they had to report real numbers to divvy up the residual pie, they would tank in a week.

That's German for The, Disney, The!
Dune 2 is one of the few movies I actually want to see this year. And the visuals look gorgeous. Apparently someone asked the director I think how they got such good looking visuals for the fraction of what a Marvel film would be. He was like, um we planned out all the shots.
I took the comment as a subtle ding at Disney. Amazing how if you plan out a film the traditional way, planning out the scenes you need in advance, and don't just plan to "fix it in post" with a green screen and overworked CGI artists, you save money!

Villeneuve probably doesn't have WB producers over his shoulder demanding that he change things to fit a larger "narrative" of a cinematic universe.
He's one of a handful of directors working at that level that really gets a hands-off treatment from his paymasters, which is weird since he's more respected than financially successful. He doesn't have an Inception like Nolan. It's arguable that Blade Runner 2049 failed to actually make money, and Dune 1 was obviously graded on a heavy curve considering when and how it was released.

I enjoyed the first season, hate watched the second and refuse to watch the third. Once black characters started popping up that weren’t part of the Ofieri I was officially done.
They somehow managed to make Yennifer and Triss relatively unattractive too which blew my mind.
I had such high hope as Cavill makes a fantastic Geralt.

The atheist dislikes something about religion. He thinks that he thinks better and *he* would never create anything like religion.
After that, as much as he tries to narrow or shape a vision for his society, and provide a structure for values and perhaps even enforce that structure, it's not "religion", because they don't like religion--and after all it's not beliefs about Sky Daddy!

Cavill, from what I read (probably at AoS) really committed to the part. He was heartbroken when they so radically deviated from the series that it wasn't recognizable any more.
He deserves a lot better. First Armie's troubles doom an UNCLE series, then Gunn does a reboot of Superman without him, now this.

Sopranos audience leaned toward males, GoT leaned toward females from what I recall. Basically soap opera ripped off from the War of the Roses historical setting with lots o' rape, incest, and pedo crap because Martin is a pervert.
Dunno about the demographics of Jackson's Tolkien movies but suspect it skewed male (could be wrong about that).

The official view from GW is that the Warhammer world does NOT exist in the Warhammer 40k universe but...it kind of seems like it should.

Yes, they do. And the space elf race got royally screwed over when it accidentally created Slaanesh.
If anyone's curious but unfamiliar with Warhammer 40,000, it's the setting for a table-top science fiction wargame that uses painted miniatures. It's been around for decades, and the setting is a popular source of material for video games and novels (in addition to the actual game, of course). Google "space marine", and the first image that comes up will probably be from the game.

He was sadly not just a committed actor, but a Witcher Uberfan. He's a true geek. So to have them reject his script notes as a fan/actor on keeping the Witcher story accurate or character accurate, only to have them pass it over for woke feminist fanfic, was heartbreaking. Same with being passed over for Superman by Gunn. He always goes to bat for the fans in interviews and doesn't belittle them. Love him.
But he wised up. His next upcoming geek project he is producing, so he gets a say in the accuracy & canon. I'm glad! I don't even know the series at all but I plan to watch it since he's attached.
Fun fact: Caville was who the author of Twilight had in mind as Edward the vampire when she wrote the books. She had a huge crush on him. Luckily he didn't take that series on and it went to RPat instead.

I watched the 1st two but 1) I didn't really remember what was going on, 2) s3 did nothing to explain what was going on, and 3) the writing was so poor and dull, I didn't care to know what was going on.
Like, there is no real plot, you learn nothing of the characters and the action is trite. All while papering over huge plot holes.

It’s the best deal on the planet. In my area the price is about $2 for a 60mg gummy (gotta buy a pack of 16 to get that price). Of course you can take just a half or quarter gummy to control your intake.
It takes about an hour to kick in, the effect lasts for a good 6 to 8 hours, there is a slight psychedelic effect and no hangover if you keep yourself hydrated.
If you do it every now and then there isn’t any tolerance buildup.

Try his earlier series "Warship", that is the one that got Ian whathisname knighted for service. Good portrayal and strong writing of men serving at see in a British frigate. Starts to run a bit out of steam in the fourth series or so.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, in today's dollars, would cost $67 million to make. They spent $300 million on the Dial of Destiny.
So, where did all that money go? $233 million? It ain't showing up on the screen, that's for sure.
My guess - they are paying and paying and paying for digital effects they don't use, re-writes that are worthless, and constant reshoots due to piss poor planning. Just burning through mountains of cash to sheer incompetence.

I get it, that all of Disney are groomers. This movie was not about that type of child abuse. It was about violently kidnapping, beating, and children raped by strangers so vicious people could make money from the depraved.
Disney is not just groomers. They did not want to expose the violence that supplied them with sex slaves.
Ticket receipts went over $150 million today in the US. The big raid was real life. The rescue of the little girl might have been a bit contrived. Thank goodness the Colombian drug lord only hired retired Imperial Storm Troopers for guards.
