"If I Was the Deep State"

Leftwingers, like Frank Luntz, are shrieking hysterically.

So, another day that ends in -y.

Unrelated: LibsofTikTok dropped by Eric Swallowell's orifice.

I previously wrote about the Walgreen's in San Francisco that had taken to securing its refrigerated displays with chains and padlocks to combat the constant, more-than-12-times-per-day cases of open, brazen theft.

CNN sent a unit there to conduct a half hour interview -- and saw the Walgreen's get robbed three times in just thirty minutes.

Here's that video:

By the way, Walgreen's corporate ordered that store to take down the chains and padlocks -- claiming it sent the "wrong message" about Walgreen's respect for diverse methods of acquiring another's possessions.

It wasn't the company itself that ordered this store to chain up the frozen pizza and ice cream. The reason the chains on the frozen food looked a bit out of place is because the employees came up with that on their own. Once it made the local news last week, corporate told them to take it down because it sent the wrong message. The wrong message in this case is basically the truth about running a retail business in San Francisco.

The chains on those freezers tell a pretty interesting story. Think about it. You've got employees who are sick and tired of having their workplace robbed a dozen or more times a day. They are not allowed to intervene or they'll be fired. They are the ones unpacking boxes full of frozen food and stocking those freezers only to see a platoon of thieves come through each evening and treat it like a Las Vegas buffet. They got so tired of it that, without corporate approval, they put up the chains.

If Walgreens corporate knew this was happening and knew this was the worst store in the entire country for shoplifting, why weren't they proactive? Why did the employees feel they had to act on their own? I think the answer is that big corporations care more about bad PR than they do about the theft which, on a balance sheet for the entire company, is probably just a rounding error.

Locally a Family Dollar shut down because Corporate would not allow the employees to take any measures to combat theft, for fear of being "offensive".

91 >>>Could be the case, I suppose. Does anyone know what the subjunctive case is anymore?

i know because I study foreign languages. The subjunctive is disappearing from English, but is still very present in european languages.

The subjunctive mood is used not to state the way things are or were, as the indicative mood (mood, not tense) does, but to state how one wishes things could be, or to make orders, or to express doubt about whether or not a fact is true.

"God bless you" is subjunctive. It's actually a truncated form of "*May* God bless you," in which you are praying for God to bless. You're not saying God IS blessing the person, or else you'd say "God blesses you."

I suspect that he's tut-tutting about something he could simply ignore as a way to show that he's still one of the good guys and could he please get an invite to the Georgetown cocktail party this coming Friday.

An advantage the British have over us is that they are extremely aware of class distinctions, and can notice the tiny differences in behavior that mark one class out from another. The "everybody is middle class" nonsense Americans have been fed for ages dulls our senses to behavior like this, which is essentially a classist reaction. "See, I'm a well-behaved chap and not at all uncivilized."

If people on the US right had a better sense of class distinctions, we'd have fewer problems with RINOs, because we'd recognize all sorts of behavior as attempts to signal virtue to fellow "higher class" individuals. We could easily weed out a lot of untrustworthy people this way.

One would think that someone at corporate would have said to quit selling that kind of stuff at that store if it is getting ripped off on a nightly basis.

The company probably has a "one size fits all" policy toward what's on store shelves. All stores get the same thing. Also, not stocking stuff that gets stolen would be the same as chaining the freezer, as far as they're concerned.

Meanwhile a PA State Liquor store which I've had occasion to shop can't give you a plastic bag to put your purchase in - local ordinance. Meanwhile the store itself looks like a Third World slum. Or... the insurance companies get hauled before a Senate subcommittee and are told to 'spread the wealth around' by insuring a couple dozen multi-trillion dollar naval disasters per year with EV's on board.

That's Door Number Two. Never discount Door Number Two. Especially because you end up paying for the Donkey wearing a hat.

I agree. That's why this plan needs a friend.

You put the pizzas into the freezer, he takes them out. When he has enough in his bag, he runs out of the store.

Very legal (for SF).

352 323 Anyone know the law in KY for replacing a Senator
---
Normally the governor appoints a replacement. But Beshear is Dem, so the legislature passed a bill saying he could only appoint someone from a list they generate. He says that's unconstitutional so he'll ignore their list.

So in other words, a cluster.

Where just a a couple of years ago she would have been dismissed out of hand with an opening like this, I think the public is suddenly waking up to this issue. The freaks have been overplaying their hand, the whole LGBTQA2+ "movement". Bud Light actually happened. Now we have Sound of Freedom, and whatever Gibson is doing with Wahlberg... Things are going to get toasty.

And then there's shit like that article I mentioned yesterday - the Emmy Award Winning journalist James Meek from ABC pleading guilty to having video of $D^&@ing a baby. Like, ga-ga goo-goo baby. This dude was actually an adviser for Homeland Security as well. The tentacles run deep. I always believed Pizzagate was real, and this only confirms it for me.

Is there a law prohibiting the corpse of a duly elected person continuing as a Senator or Representative? I can't find any such prohibition in the Constitution. Also, Joe could be a literal Dead President for another five and a half years, as long as he is not officially declared dead. His private doctor will release a BS physical exam results letter every year. The final sentence would be, "Mr. Biden is as capable of performing the duties of the Presidency as he ever was."

360 I remember in 15 Trump was interviewed by Cluntz. Trump was new to politics and I suspect he agreed before doing an in depth vetting of Clutz.... Long story short during the interview Trump asked Clutz personal questions and mocked him for being a stooped asshole one man pony show masquerading as a legitimate polling company with networks and actual employees. Hahaha loved it....

362 SB 228 changes that appointment process in key ways. Most notably, it requires the governor to pick a temporary successor who shares the same political party as the departing senator.

It also makes them select that person from a list of three names provided by the executive committee of the departing senator's state party.
