The Morning Report — 7/25/23

redmeatramas.jpg

Good morning, kids. Leaving aside the doctrinaire liberal if not hard left personal politics and beliefs of RFK Jr., as I've mentioned before, his candidacy in the Democrat race – assuming for a moment that there actually will be one as opposed to the powers that be rigging it, as they have done in both 2016 and 2020 – is now growing beyond merely the turd in the punchbowl but a live hand grenade in a Delaware bunker.

Speaking with Fox News, the Democrat presidential candidate said allegations surrounding [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Joe Biden and Hunter Biden about allegedly accepting $5 million in bribes are worth “a real investigation.”

“I think the issues are now coming up are worrying enough that we really need a real investigation of what happened,” Kennedy said. “I mean, these revelations about the, where you had Burisma, which is, you know, a notoriously corrupt company that paid out, apparently, $10 million to Hunter and his dad. If that’s true, then it is really troubling.”

“So, I think that that needs to be investigated,” he added.

Kennedy’s statement is a dramatic course correction from just last week when he refused to attack [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Joe Biden on his family’s alleged corruption, despite polling that shows overwhelming concern about the scandal. . .

. . . Kennedy’s opinion now aligns with polling that shows a majority of independents want congressional investigations into the Biden family business prioritized. Another majority of registered voters believe Joe Biden’s family received millions of dollars from Chinese government-linked sources. Moreover, 61 percent of Americans believe Hunter Biden received “special treatment” in his plea deal with U.S. Prosecutor David Weiss.

I don't have the link handy but this comes on the heels of RFK Jr.'s fairly conciliatory remarks about Donald Trump that though mild, was the moral equivalent to the average Leftist of Michael Richards' Tourette's barrage of "ni*ger!" on the reviewing stand of the Million Man March. Humanizing Donald Trump is an abject desecration of everything holy to the Left.

Be that as it may, is what Rush Limbaugh PBUH referred to as "the daily soap opera" going through a rewrite in order to ease Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants out and pave the way for a Newsom/Whitmer ticket? The narrative seems to be slipping away from the propagandists' ability to shape and control it. It's also why you'll likely see a Trump indictment within days, I would think.

Of course, the random elements include Biden himself refusing to step aside, as well as Kamala Harris. Yes, America is gone but the illusion of regular order and more importantly the preservation of that illusion dictates that Harris' ascension to the Oval Office must go forward. And that would leave her as the de facto standard-bearer for the party in '24.

But, as I maintain the fix is more than likely cemented in place – a few encouraging signs in the 2020 Election Heist section notwithstanding (see below) – and with a completely corrupted justice system that at best will either let Joe skate and give Hunter a wrist slap while Donald Trump, who I believe is unstoppable in the primary as of this moment, will be railroaded by a kangaroo court and sentenced to hundreds of years in the Gulag, what does all this matter?

It will be a moral victory for a majority of heretofore unaware or unconcerned citizens to have this corruption shoved in their face and not be able to look away from it. Frankly, I'm sick to death of settling for moral victories because moral victories won't stop us from being persecuted into silence and acquiescence on every issue under he sun. Or worse. And that is the road we're on right now.

On that note, one GOP candidate, his trustworthiness and potential for corruptibility notwithstanding seems to be making all the right noises. That's why I'm calling him Red Meat Ramaswamy:

In an interview with Glenn Beck on July 15, Vivek said that he intends to shut down the FBI and that he can do so without going through Congress—and even if Congress were entirely Republican, you know it would never act to clip the FBI’s wings:

“I’m coming in with a clear-sighted view, Glenn, of shutting down most of the administrative state,” Ramaswamy told talk show host Glenn Beck shortly after his interview with Tucker Carlson, a co-founder of the Daily Caller and Daily Caller News Foundation. “First of all, do it on strong legal authority, so I’m a unique combination. I don’t like to brag a lot, but I’m a CEO, but I’ve also studied the Constitution deeply and the Supreme Court right now shares my view of the Constitution.”

“The U.S. president already has statutory authority, the Presidential Reorganization Act of 1977, says you can shut down redundant agencies,” Ramaswamy explained to the former Fox News host. “Well, when I look at what the DEA does and what the U.S. Marshals do, there’s my legal justification for shutting down the FBI without asking Congress for permission or forgiveness.”

. . . Having explained his authority to act, Vivek is starting to name the federal agencies that, in addition to the FBI, he’d do away with, starting with the Department of Education. . .

. . . Most Republican candidates talk a good game about shrinking the federal government, but Vivek is making headlines by explaining his authority and naming his targets.

About the only other candidate in the pack that is even hinting at doing anything against the Leviathan is Ron DeSantis. Everyone else is lost in Chris Christie's asscrack. Of course, the idea that the Leviathan is going to willingly and cheerfully shutter even a broom closet door is a pipe dream, wrapped in an LSD trip inside a drunken stupor. They run the show, regardless of which party is in the Executive Branch and especially if it's a Republican president. Most especially if it's an outsider/reformer.

It is this Leviathan that has brought us to the brink of disaster. And they're hell bent on finishing the job.

“Suppose we got it all wrong and the real crazies are the TV people in nice suits and $300 haircuts?”

That’s an observation by Richard Fernandez on Twitter, and he has a good point.

There’s a lot of craziness in the air these days.

But for the most part it seems to be flowing from the top down, not bubbling up from the bottom. . .

. . . All these crazy ideas and more are the product of our allegedly educated and intelligent overclass, the experts, policymakers and media types who in theory represent the thinking part, the brains, of our society.

But there’s something wrong with these people — the “brains” of our society are basically crazy.

Crazy is when you believe and do things that obviously don’t make sense or fit with the facts.

It’s important to have an intellectual class.

Exactly how important is open to question — in his recent book “How Innovation Works,” Matt Ridley argues that most 19th- and 20th-century innovations actually came from tradespeople and industry, not academics doing abstract research — but important enough.

There are dangers to an intelligentsia, though.

Communism and Nazism started as intellectual movements; so did such fads as eugenics and lobotomies.

The Tuskegee Experiment wasn’t the product of racist Klansmen but of the curiosity of credentialed public-health experts.

In a 1999 essay, Neal Stephenson wrote that “during this century, intellectualism failed, and everyone knows it. In places like Russia and Germany, the common people agreed to loosen their grip on traditional folkways, mores, and religion, and let the intellectuals run with the ball, and they screwed everything up and turned the century into an abattoir. Those wordy intellectuals used to be merely tedious; now they seem kind of dangerous as well.”

It’s gotten worse. . .

. . . A decade ago, the crazy ideas I listed earlier would have been seen as beyond the pale of civilized political discussion.  Now they’re all endorsed by leading American institutions. That’s the hallmark of dysfunctional politics, and dysfunctional politics is what we have.

What the estimable Glenn Harlan Reynolds describes is nothing new, especially what he alludes to vis a vis Germany.

The term “technocracy” is nothing new to our political lexicon. It’s been around for decades and is commonly associated with totalitarian leftist regimes who appoint technical elitist “experts” to manage specialized sectors of their regime’s military, economy, and other civil sectors. A technocracy’s effect is to nullify the will of the people.

The first of such modern regimes was arguably the National Socialist German Workers Party (aka the Nazi Party). Minister of Armaments Albert Speer was among Hitler’s finest and most prized technocrats. In recent years, Speer’s role has been overshadowed by diabolical agents with more obvious blood on their hands, such as Adolf Eichman, Rudolph Hess, Hermann Goering, and others. . .

. . . When Germany surrendered, Speer was brought to the ancient German city of Nuremberg, where he was put on trial for crimes against humanity along with twenty-four others. After much deliberation between the tribunal, he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment at Spandau prison in Berlin. It was a slap on the wrist sentence compared to other regime members who stood trial and received death sentences.

When Speer’s trial neared its conclusion, his final testimony included information explaining how the Nazi regime effectively won the hearts and minds of the bulk of the German population after the nation’s economic and cultural decline following WWI. He also issued a stern warning to the victorious democratic nations that were already building large bureaucratic departments that were overseen by the proto-technocrats of their day.

(Keep in mind that America had a head start on this project: During the 1930s, Roosevelt’s New Deal transformed the American federal government by adding nearly seventy megalithic bureaucracies to the Federal government, permanently transforming America’s governing system. This transformation began the process of convincing many well-meaning Americans that “the bigger the government, the better,” and conditioned Americans to embrace large bureaucratic agencies run by technocrats . . .

. . . Speer explained that, while Hitler was the first to employ the tools of authoritarian control to carry out his regime’s crimes, as technology developed after the war, other technocratic dictatorships would pose an even greater threat to humanity:

The more technological the world becomes, the greater is the danger…As the former minister in charge of a highly developed armaments economy it is my last duty to state: Every country in the world may be dominated by technology; but in a modern dictatorship this seems to me to be unavoidable. Therefore, the more technological the world becomes, the more essential will be the demand for individual freedom and the self-awareness of the individual human being as a counterpoise to technology.

In 2023, America is witnessing an ever-encroaching government composed of unelected and unrestricted technocrats who are increasingly running, or perhaps, ruining, ordinary Americans’ lives. Therefore, it pays to take a lesson from one of history’s most evil technocratic regimes and its chief architect.

Speers’ words from his final testimony should chill any reader who favors a free society. We already see how the dozens of huge bureaucracies routinely roll over Americans’ constitutional rights, imposing their collective wills upon the people without regard to our ostensibly representational government.

Moreover, this rogue bureaucracy is allied with Big Tech’s spiderweb. Both big tech and the Deep State are composed of radical leftist ideological factions who believe in their absolute right to censor any view or opinion that runs contrary to a far-left narrative. No wonder, then, that we are witnessing a government, press corps, and common culture run amok with the Marxist-Woke mind virus.

"Anti-intellectualism" is used as an epithet by Our Betters, but it's often sensible. It is natural that people should resist the imposition of a polity that's imposed from above rather than evolving from a societal consensus.

There was a flutter years ago when an Air Force officer questioned a presidential order to fire nuclear weapons, asking, "What if the president is insane?" I don't know what happened to him, likely cashiered. But what do we do when our Ruling Class is insane?

There was no evidence Trump did anything wrong. He's been under investigation for 8 years and the only thing they've had was proven to be made up bullshit. Yet they're still pursuing charges against him.

In Biden, they have OVERWHELMING evidence that he and his family have committed numerous crimes, including treason against the United States, yet they sit on their hands, cheering them on.

Right. The state refuses reform. Donald Trump, for all their bleating, was a reformer. He failed. Ramaswamy will fail if he tries. DeSantis will fail if he tries. These agencies will refuse to be reformed and Congress will either do nothing or explicitly support the agencies and help them out through impeachment or other measures.

This is not a system where reform is possible, and so reformers are doomed.

As it must. Whether leftist or not (and the odds of "leftist" are always high), there *must* be agreement between the technical and the government. Each is a threat to the other. You are predicting a stable equilibrium where the Deep State negates change agents. They can win battles in the short run but all things including the Deep State (more properly termed as regimes) end by losing the war against change.

For example, the original Deep State (where the term was coined) of the Turkish military was ended by a Islamists after a series of Deep State failures and now the Islamists under Erdogan went about creating their own deep state which is now faltering.

Right, that's the point. I am predicting an unstable pseudo-equilibrium where the state continues to destroy all attempts at reform until eventually revolutionaries take over, which ends that system and installs some new one - some new one that is likely going to have to try to rebuild from splintered remains.

I think that the deep state has made reform impossible, which is why I am not optimistic about reformers. And when reform is impossible, revolution is inevitable.

Madison and Hamilton address this in the Federalist papers--basically ambition must check ambition. However, neither Madison nor Hamilton addressed the obvious solution to unite the separated systems--political parties which ironically both helped create. That has led in turn to a federal bureaucracy run amuck that has essentially neutered the Congress and courts and at times presidents who they do not like policy wise.

Other systems solved this by having a king (despot or not) that could basically become the decision maker or some sort of committee system which is what we have now. A politburo of faceless Dems hiding behind the facade of Joe Biden's decaying mind and face.

The ideological conformity and enforcement of the last 30 years has only worsened the problem.

They researchers won't explore unless there's funding.
Government won't fund unproven work.
And they certainly won't fund anything that even hints at contradicting their ideology.

So nothing new gets funded.

A lot of it wasn't particularly interesting. The malefactors either refused to cooperate or said they were right. The trials were also a sham - there was a time when those people would have just been dragged out back and shot by the victors - and a lot of people have a problem with show trials, so they tend to gloss over them (well, used to - they all love a good show trial now).

Speer was interesting. So one of the others, who used his powerful command of language to confound translators and drag the proceedings out (I forget who that was, though).

Might want to read the sobering Hitler's Justice which describes the trial of the Nazi judges in detail. Basically, like in the Frankfurt School, they began with the idea of positivism--that is if the source of authority is legitimate then the state's action must be approved.

People like Felix Frankfurter and Ezra Pound made it popular among legal circles in the 20's and 30's in the US and as a result, Democrat judges appointed after the New Deal were overwhelmingly partisan for the fed gov expansion of powers and developed various doctrines to work around precedents limiting the growth. The idea is that the Dems have the popular branches and the presidency and thus were legitimate authority to actually de facto rewrite the Constitution and its separation of powers.

Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Joe Biden at July 25, 2023 08:49 AM (Zz0t1)

189 There is quite a concerted effort at the moment trying to tout Biden as executing a brilliant economic recovery:
He tweets: Remember when the experts said that to get inflation under control we needed to lower wages, and drive up unemployment? I never bought that. Instead, I focused on getting more Americans into the workforce, fixing our broken supply chains, and lowering costs. And it's working.

Morgan Stanley is credits Biden’s economic policies with driving an unexpected surge in the economy that is so significant, the bank was forced to make a “sizable upward revision” to its estimates for U.S. GDP, CNBC reports.

As a result of these unexpected swells, Morgan Stanley now projects 1.9% GDP growth for the first half of this year. That’s nearly four times higher than the bank’s previous forecast of 0.5%.

CNN Business: Inflation’s steady slowdown this year has boosted Americans’ confidence in the economy. It has also improved the odds of the Federal Reserve pulling off a so-called soft landing, or a scenario in which inflation returns to the central bank’s 2% target without pushing the economy off a cliff.

204 Saint for the Day:
St. James the Greater (died 44 AD) is the brother of St. John the Apostle, and was one of Jesus’s original 12 Apostles. The title “Greater” was added to distinguish him from St. James the Lesser, and is believed not to concern status or holiness, but physical height. Besides being the son of Zebedee, what is known of St. James’s life comes after he and his brother were called to leave their father and their nets and follow after Jesus. James was one of the three apostles invited to witness the miraculous Transfiguration of Christ on Mount Tabor. As well, his righteous anger at seeing a Samaritan town reject Jesus inspired him to ask Jesus to call down fire on the town, which Jesus gently rebuked. Following Christ’s Resurrection and Ascension, James preached the Gospel across the Roman empire before traveling to Spain, where he spread the Gospel for many years. The famous “Camino de Santiago” pilgrimage path in Spain is named in his honor (Santiago is Spanish for James). At the end of his life, James returned to Jerusalem, where he was the first apostle to be martyred. His feast day is July 25th.

210 CNN Business: Inflation’s steady slowdown this year has boosted Americans’ confidence in the economy. It has also improved the odds of the Federal Reserve pulling off a so-called soft landing, or a scenario in which inflation returns to the central bank’s 2% target without pushing the economy off a cliff.

Inflation - as heavily massaged as possible - is sitting at 4% over 2022. It was 9.1% last year. What cost a dollar in June of 2021 costs $1.135 today - assuming the numbers are true. Assuming the numbers are true, CPI inflation is still running *double* what the Fed targets (setting aside that the Fed target is insane anyway).

Supply chain improvement - something Biden had nothing to do with - has helped, yeah. That much is true. Commercial real estate and urban central business districts are still collapsing, and will take a lot regional banks with them.

"Soft landings" do not exist. They never have and they never will.

214 >>Seems pretty obvious the only way to win is with some candidate other than Trump, but someone dedicated to Trumpian principals

I don't see that as obvious at all. Trump currently has more support than all other candidates combined and none of them even breaks 20% support. Trump beat Hillary when all the experts were saying she was going to win in a walk. He then got more votes than any sitting president in history and we all know they had to go to extreme lengths to rig the election for Biden.

There is nobody on the right who comes close to generating the enthusiasm in the base and very importantly energizes marginal voters and brings in new votes than Trump and if he's not in the race a lot of the voters aren't in the race either. It doesn't matter how many Independents you get if you don't have the base.

And anyone who runs on a Trumpian platform will get the same treatment Trump gets from the left and none of them are the kind of knife fighter he is. It's either beat the cheat with Trump or bust.

The ship of Deep State can't rapidly adjust, though the Propaganda Press would certainly do so. Indicting an alternate politician can happen in Michigan politics, but on the national stage, the DOJ can't move that fast.

Moreover, the entire rationale behind a Biden candidacy is "beat Trump", so when Trump is gone thee Democrats would suffer an identity crisis and would likely move on from Biden, again causing some chaos.

So no indictments to vilify the Republican and a little chaos on the Democrat side means, I believe, lower Democrat turnout and a considerably harder steal.

||Myth Of The Starving Shoplifter

Retail crime is driven by reduced penalties and organized gangs, not economic hardship.

A recent video on Twitter showed a supermarket employee tussling with a shoplifter who had filled her bag with items. As the employee pulled the bag from her hand, she cried, “I have to feed my family!” That’s a common refrain from shoplifters these days, echoed in media headlines proclaiming that people have turned to stealing to put food on the table—despite a U.S. social safety net that includes $185 billion in spending on food stamps and other nutrition-assistance programs. In truth, America’s exploding shoplifting problem predates our current economic difficulties. Much of the stealing, store owners and security experts say, has less to do with putting food on the table than with a rise in organized theft, and it’s having a particularly adverse effect in cities where criminal-justice reforms have made it easy to get away with.||

People haven't realized it yet, but this entire election is Trump. It's either going to be him as the candidate, or the candidate defending every single position as "a Trump position" or similar. It will be a tedious slog as every question asked unique and new candidates is tied to Trump.

Trump is the only one that gives the chance for the miracle, though. The new VP is the one that can continue to attempt to right the ship in 2028.

269 I don't have the link handy but this comes on the heels of RFK Jr.'s fairly conciliatory remarks about Donald Trump

Donald Trump is basically a 90s centrist Democrat politically.

The fact that this now makes him a "NAZI" and a "white supremacist" shows how insane the left has gotten.

Also the fact that this makes him the most "rightwing" Republican president/presidential candidate since Reagan is ridiculous.

Not at all.
- Whisk together egg yolks and sugar. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, stir together cream, half-and-half, salt, sugar
- Heat the mixture on medium-high heat
- Before simmering is achieved, *slowly* add room-temperature minestrone condensed soup, diluted by twice the amount recommended on the can
- Continue heating and stir continuously until simmering, then reduce heat
- Add egg yolks and sugar while whisking continuously
- Continue to cook while stirring continuously
- Strain through a sieve and cool in an ice bath, stirring occasionally

Ohio and Florida have shown what works. Basically you drain the pool of non existent voters in a jurisdiction via lawsuits using the Motor Voter act. The addresses are the key part in demonstrating non existent voters such as 500 people registered to a non existent address.

That is the key to addressing voter fraud as it removes the fig leaf where plausible other explanations exist. Making organized voter fraud a lengthy prison sentence will also discourage it among the fairly substantial pool of workers it requires.

The Democrat party is a mess. A majority of them don't even want Joe to run. Harris is universally seen as a drooling imbecile and their term has been pretty much a Carter level disaster. And a lot more Biden corruption is going to be exposed over the next few months.

331 but- 14th Amendment or something!
Posted by: DB

Nope, the conservative justices Thomas and Alito argued that original jurisdiction meant that the court had to take the case as it was a dispute over whether states allow fraud like PA effectively disenfranchised voters in Texas. In a sense, it probably contributed to the disjointed post election legal response by Trump as that lawsuit came from the states and was not originated by the Trump team. They put their own legal actions on the backburner to support the all or nothing Texas lawsuit which allowed cover for leftist district court judges in Michigan for example to rule against Trump.

Trump was extremely poorly served by his legal beagles and that is a warning sign that do not expect legal means to overcome politics and force. Lawyers always expect another client to come through the door like a taxi and take a long view of their profession. They have to practice long after the current case disappears. The extrajudicial punishment of bar actions, loss of business for commercial leaning firms, etc. is more than enough to dissuade a lot of legal talent to ignore the plight of Trump.

Restoration News was the first to report on the latest front in election integrity: The battle for control of the U.S. Postal Service. Now that conflict is heating up. They've been trying to subtly change these words for a couple of weeks and now they sprung their new fully-formed lie to the public. In effect, the WH is admitting Biden participated in the corrupt acts, but are trying to claim it wasn't "really grifty, only a little grifty".

I think people tend to minimize what Trump was up against. Trump probably has the strongest urge to pull a Samson as he does not depend on the political system for future wealth and influence unlike his competitors. Dunno though that Trump's popularity will be sufficient though to sweep in a House and Senate more favorable to him.

DeSantis might be the shrewder of the two candidates at doing targeted reforms of the worst of the Deep State but is simply unlikely to be a mass populist candidate if he continues using GOP campaign advisors and mega donors. As a partial test of this - DeSantis got somewhat serious about vote fraud in FL and it went from a purple state to a red one overnight.

Did a bunch of incumbent GOPe types lose to MAGA types as well in the primaries?
Posted by: 18-1
-----------
In places that allow it, GOPe (worst offender Mitch and his wretched crew of turncoats) hire Democrat voting machines to win open primaries against GOP. That is how Ratshitburger in GA as Georgia Secretary of State won his primary in 2022 despite being widely despised by the Republican voters. Lindsay does the same thing. This is often why Southern states send people like Lindsay or Nancy Mace to Congress because of open primaries.

I'm a bit rusty on empirical work but I suspect that Kemp actually lost in 2018 but as Secretary of State, for that election, the servers were mysteriously wiped before Abrams and her crew could document them. The lawsuit that Abrams brought in federal court afterwards documented that the Dominion machines were bad.

403 Good morning, all, and thanks, J.J.

Trump 1st...then DeSantis...now Vivek.

Government Executive, July 27, 2022, Trump Has Endorsed a Plan to Purge the Civil Service of ‘Rogue Bureaucrats.’
"Former Trump staffers have said they have identified 50,000 federal employees who would be ousted under a new iteration of Schedule F during the next Republican administration."

And also, for example, New Republic, July 25, 2022, The Next GOP President Will Replace Civil Servants With Political Hacks, Wreaking Havoc on the Government. "Trump fumbled it in 2020. The Republicans will try again next time they win the White House."

IMO, the left wants a mad scramble in all of Federal employment. In about the last decade & a half, its replaced 'civil servants' at its highest levels w/all political hacks - as Trump, yet again, had been accused of plotting - and is working its way down the line identifying purported disloyal 'subjects' for replacement by competent & loyal private sector personnel. In short, its overflowing with unnecessary bodies & would welcome a bit of a purge that could be solidly blamed on conservatives. Contracts & stakeholders are acceptable to get government done.

404 Allowing RFK Jr to take the Democrat primary in 2024 (without a chance in hell of winning the general) may be the best hope the Dems have of getting out from under Biden/Harris without utterly destroying their brand with the electorate.
Biden would be a disaster; Harris would be a disaster; but they are the face of the Democrat Party at the moment. Newsom is their Golden Boy for the future, but currently he cannot win in '24 because California has become radioactively toxic in the minds of average Americans.
But if RFK Jr is the candidate... he will be gotten rid of as a spoiler (think Ralph Nader) and the Dems can blame him (an outsider) rather than themselves for their losing the election, without any of their insiders being hurt politically.

407 299 259 Well, the limit is what the population will stand. Direct action regarding voter fraud occurred in the past including Tennessee post WWII in the Battle of Athens.

In fact, more regimes are probably toppled over voter fraud than any other reason in recent history. Sometimes with blood, sometimes relatively peacefully.
Posted by: whig at July 25, 2023 09:03 AM (9hLLz)

I don't see it happening.

It feels like on some level the achievers are waiting for the non-achievers with no kids (in other words : the ones with "nothing to lose") to pick up their guns first and make the first sacrifice.

And they don't seem inclined to do that.
Posted by: XTC at July 25, 2023 09:10 AM (UnA8+)

This type of thing doesn't just happen.
When achievers aren't allowed to achieve and people start having trouble getting things.. like food.
That's when sporty things happen.
Also, the election thievery hasn't really gotten super local yet... that's the type of thing that gets Battle of Athens.. because locals know who is shady and have less stomach for it than people elsewhere.

Also, if you missed it: ARE THERE LIMITS ON ABORTION IN MAINE? There is no waiting period required for abortion services in Maine. Maine law allows for abortions up to the point of viability.

411 FL Democrats naming Nikki Fried as their chair is hilarious. It's an organization doing a 'Bud Light' - assuming that clicks equal influence and importance. She is vacuous beyond measure. A smug, vapid self-promoter with nothing to promote. Her tenure in office and her campaign were hilarious exercises in Bidenesque stagecraft - a big empty desk and lots of prop mics. Then there was her still-unexplained 'refugee camp' video clip during covid in which actors played reporters and she wore a headscarf and implied she was a relief worker.

She couldn't organize a one-car funeral and her flailing about is hilarious.

Spoiler alert: You're not buying cheap sh*t made in the U.S. Heck, you're not buying expensive sh*t made in the U.S. You're not even buying American cars made in America. Our Betters sold us down that road 30+ years ago.
---

BMWs are made in SC. (For example)

The way to solve this is to pass a law requiring Americans to work in manufacturing as there are THE only jobs that matter. You wanna farm? Too bad, go to a factory or jail, you wanna be a doctor? Too bad, go to a factory or jail.

Also, force every country in the world to give up manufacturing, or we drop nukes.

All Problems Solved. Right?
--

I'm not sure pointing out that German luxury vehicle makers moved production of a few "German" luxury cars to a less costly manufacturing area is quite the best counter to the statement that American cars aren't made in America any longer.

414 All that is required is chronic government stonewalling of reasonable requests for transparency. "The secret of propaganda is not what you say, it's what you don't say", Nazi minister of propaganda.

Then add in high officials serially lying under oath, along with the blatantly unequal application of the law. Institutionalize arguments from authority of politicians and bureaucrats who refuse to adjudicate arguments empirically. "Misinformation", or "always accuse the other side of what you are doing". Yup, that same Nazi minister of propaganda again.

Finish with the transformation of an obsequious media into a mouthpiece of the state. What system is it that, rather than owning the means of production, uses government regulatory power (like democratically elected government's laws, but without any input from, you know, voters, the people) to control "private" ownership, defacto control without legal ownership? Fascism.

This is why they are calling you "neo-Nazis". As *AHEM* that same Nazi minister of propaganda said, "always accuse the other side of what you are doing". Or in this case, being.

415 Of course Ramaswamy can short-circuit the bureaucracy without further Congressional approvals. All he has to do is to send the money directly to the States without bothering to launder it through the DC bureaucracy. Let the States worry about the allocations and the audits and the traceability and the accounting.

Ramaswamy might run into problems disestablishing bureaucracies that Congress established, but he can take away / reassign the scope of their duties, even if he cannot actually fire the people. Let 'em sit on chairs in empty rooms for the rest of their tenure.
