Fox Executives Are "Panicked" Over "Ratings Disaster" for New and Not-Improved Nightly Lineup
Fox just reshuffled its night-time schedule in a flailing attempt to hide the Tucker-shaped hole in the schedule.

While it is a positive result for the Fox News presenter on his debut night in the slot when compared to his competitors, his ratings remain lower than Carlson's average of 3.2 million in the first quarter of 2023, before he left the network. For Watters, a humorist who first rose to fame as a sidekick to Bill O'Reilly, taking the slot once occupied by Carlson was a big break--but the promotion appears to have caused him to lose viewers in certain demographics. On Monday, July 10, Watters had 191,000 viewers in the 25 to 54 demographic in his usual 7 p.m. timeslot--more than the 161,000 reached this Monday at prime-time. He got slightly fewer total viewers at 7 p.m., at 2.19 million, showing that on average he made a gain by moving to Carlson's former slot.

I still maintain that we entered a recession in Spring of last year. Europe entered the lagged recession they usually do earlier this year. Lots of the data since then tends to align better with it than being about to enter a recession, aside from the yield curve.

People didn't like Tucker for his coiffure or cackling laugh. They watched him because he delivered hard truths that indicted not only leftists, but also their morally corrupt GOP counterparts.
The closer Tucker trended towards the Christian worldview and the shining of light on the demons, the greater his audience became and the less the establishment could bear him.

They thought what happened after the Arizona call would repeat. That is, people went away and many, not all, drifted back. That has happened here and in fact it's the converse. People are just leaving cable news altogether. That's been a trend for a few years now, and it even happened at Fox. But because they were top rated it wasn't so evident. Now it is and the audience has just evaporated. People have finally figured out that Fox and the Murdoch's are just like the rest of the MSM. It's just a matter of degrees.

I haven’t had cable in 5+ years so thts the last time I watched. And even then it was sporadic. I’m GenX.
My neighbors are late 70s ultra live (but nice people we get along as neighbors well). They have msnbc on 24/7, I can see their TV through one of the windows in the backyard.
In 10-15 years all of cable news will be gone as this last generation who watches dies off.

There was a story a bit ago about how sharks were starting to get closer to shores they hadn't previously been near and everyone dove right into the climate BS. They quietly snuck in that conservation efforts had successfully produced greater quantities of food for sharks in these areas, naturally drawing the sharks in.

Most of Congress, like normal people, have serious investment biases that costs them a lot of money. Investment professional may struggle to outperform the market net of fees, but amateurs have a remarkable knack for making the wrong moves when investing actively and make very little money on average. The tendency to exit things that have crashed and enter things that have already run up a lot and gotten a lot of hype accounts for a great deal of it.

I've been looking around for weight plates. Walmart is the only place I found any that aren't crazy high prices. Even secondhand, rusty old weight plates on Facebook Marketplace are close to $1.50-$2.00 per pound. I'm not talking about Eleiko plates either. In the process, they managed to make sure even the dullest of their viewers figured out that Fox doesn't like them. In fact, they're held in contempt by the management and ownership of the network.
That's not a winning strategy, and those that left with Tucker won't be coming back because the seats have been shuffled on the lido deck.

I lived in the same house after birth until I was 17.
We moved to Texas & I was in that house until for three years until I went to work for the state. Moved 11 times in four years. FTS. Moved back home, got married and bought a house. Lived in that one 31 years.

He was in air-sea rescue. His squadron was moved to Okinawa from the Phillippines in July '45 when most of the fighting was over. The convoy went right through the middle of a typhoon, though.

Nope, Tucker has been in the TV and journalism biz for a long time. He knows damn well what he is doing. Tucker's shows are opinion and interview shows, not some face reading the news. And in part, the polished lies and endless repetition of talking points are what is killing TV news.
