The Special Counsel Merrick Garland Appointed to Investigate Trump, and Not, For Example, Hunter Biden, Informs Trump He's a Target of Investigation for "Instigating" the January 6 "Insurrection"

Every Democrat -- including their media propaganda ministers -- must be prosecuted for inciting and instigating antifa and BLM riots.

If Trump's words are "inciting," so are all of theirs.

Imprison them all for ten years.

Former President Trump says he received a letter from Special Counsel Jack Smith stating that he is the target of a Jan. 6 grand jury investigation on Tuesday.

Trump said he initially received the letter on Sunday and said he expects to face both an arrest and indictment.

A government source with direct knowledge of the situation also told Fox News that Smith's office sent Trump a target letter.

"Deranged Jack Smith, prosecutor with Joe Biden's DOJ, sent a letter (again it was a Sunday night!) stating that I am the TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury Investigation, and giving me a very short four days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an arrest an indictment," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"So now, Joe Biden's Attorney General, Merrick Garland, who I turned down for the United States Supreme Court (in retrospect, based on his corrupt and unethical actions, a very wise decision!), together with Joe Biden's Department of Injustice, have effectively issued a third indictment and arrest of Joe Biden's NUMBER ONE POLITICAL OPPONENT, who is largely dominating him in the race for the Presidency," Trump said.

"Nothing like this has ever happened in our Country before, or even close," he said.
Trump speaks at Nevada campaign event

Pointing to the Trump-Russia investigation, which began in 2016, Trump said, "They illegally spied on my Campaign, attacked me with a totally Fake "Dossier" that was funded by Hillary Clinton's Campaign and the DNC." Special Counsel John Durham, in May, released his highly-anticipated report after years of investigating the origins of that investigation, and found it never should have been opened.

...

"THIS WITCH HUNT IS ALL ABOUT ELECTION INTERFERENCE AND A COMPLETE AND TOTAL POLITICAL WEAPONIZATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT," Trump wrote. "It is a very sad and dark period for our Nation!"

As for Jan. 6, 2021, Trump said that under the Constitution, he has "the right to protest an Election that I am fully convinced was Rigged and Stolen, just as the Democrats have done against me in 2016, and many others have done over the ages."

"But the Democrats have gone much further than has ever happened before--they cheated on the elections," Trump claimed. "Rather than looking at the CHEATERS, the WEAPONIZED DOJ AND FBI target and harass those who complain about the cheaters, and the massive fraud that took place."

It's OCD Christmas at CNN. They're in full celebration mode.

Leftwing Debate Grunter John King claims that Jack Smith's purchase of a sandwich at Subway is a powerful "message" to Trump. He also asserts that Trump -- the man being hunted and threatened with 50 years of imprisonment by The Regime -- is the "bully" here, and that Jack Smith's purchase of a Subway sandwich is a brave signal that he will not be intimidated. He will just eat Subway sandwiches and jail The Regime's political enemies.

11 I believe a lot more people see this as an attack on them and their ability to choose a candidate from their party, then anything else. In that regard it's going to backfire and galvanize people. Trump as usual is still putting this in personal terms. That's another matter.

Bourbon and St. Ann, about two blocks from where I grew up. I don't think that stuff was going on in such a flagrant way when I was a kid, or my mother would never have let me go out on the street on MG Day. Remember, being "gay" (only it wasn't called that in the Sixties) was severely frowned on, if not illegal. I suppose the gay "community" could have gotten away with the drag queen stuff on MG Day, since *everybody* was dressing in crazy outfits.

Pete Fountain's club used to be at that intersection. I walked past it every day on the way to school.

139 A small but not incidental detail is that Congress was, at the time of the protests, debating application of the Electoral Count Act. According to which, the citizens had 100% right to gather, demonstrate and make their feelings known to the Congress as to whether and how they should apply that Act. And the President had 100% right to request the people to make their voices heard to Congress.

But WTF does the Constitution, law or 200+ years of political practice have to do with it

151 from wash post june 16 2020, about the riot outside the white house:

During the first week of arrests when the majority of charges were filed, Michael R. Sherwin, acting U.S. attorney for the District, said his office ultimately chose to not pursue rioting charges and instead focused on counts involving assault, property damage or burglary, where prosecutors felt the evidence was clear.

"I did not authorize any of those individuals to be charged with rioting. I think that's a very gray area, a very dangerous area that bleeds into protesting, and what is First Amendment [protected] and what is not," Sherwin said in a June 5 statement to The Washington Post. "But what we did charge and will continue to charge is any and all acts of violence, physical aggression and property damage - such conduct will never be condoned or accepted in the District."

It isn't about Trump. It is a message to Republicans, conservatives, independents, whatever, that they have absolutely no power and what they think does not matter. Think of it as an embossed invitation to the grand opening of an official dictatorship. It is also flexing on the controlled opposition members in the Senate and House to expose how utterly impotent they are.

We all need to acknowledge what time it is, because it has been that time a long time.

I doubt it matters, but part of the thing about ANY pol in the presidency is that they are an unknown quantity. Desantis HAS done good things in Florida we/they want on the larger stage (vote integrity, trying to protect kids, etc.)

I know fans want to say he would do the same or better on a larger stage... BUT. Anyone we choose (and this goes partially for Trump) we have no idea how they will perform. Sessions was a reliable vote until he became part of the admin. We have seen this play out too many times.

Does this mean Desantis is a piece of shit and will be fucking kids in the Lincoln bedroom. Not necessarily, but he is an unknown quantity- same as everyone else.

Here's a theory I just came up with:

DeSantis knows that he's going to lose the primary to Trump. He's okay with that, and he's using the primary as intro to the Republican base on a national level. He will then spend 2025-2028, especially once he's out of office as FL's governor, touting his own ability to clean up FL's elections as why he should be the nominee in 2028, maybe even offering his own people to help in places like AZ or WI or GA.

Seems like a path to the 28 nomination that wouldn't be impossible.

Since he started as governor post-Trump, I'm not entirely sure what the point is. If anything, DeSantis seems to show that he can respond to incentives that don't come from the GOPe donor base. Using our current political class as a measuring stick, that's pretty much top of the pile. That's a disappointing measure of our political class, for sure.

There's a reason they warned the American public that it doesn't have the fire power to combat the American government. They can see a time when the American military may be called upon to take up arms against the citizens.

And they've been very clear that they'll use that power.

When people tell you who they are, believe them. We've been told. I think they'd be all too happy to show us.

423 I doubt it matters, but part of the thing about ANY pol in the presidency is that they are an unknown quantity.

I completely agree with this. I'm a Trump guy, but that doesn't mean that DeSantis is owned, or anything like that. I'm not a fan of the folks who are backing him financially, but DeSantis can still buck those people when it counts. Trump, for me, is a known quantity.

435 Here are just a few:

Sen. Cory Booker urged people to answer a “call to action” to protest at the Capitol. “Please, get up in the face of some congresspeople,” Booker said at a conference.

Hillary Clinton said civility was only an option if the Democrats controlled the legislative branch. “You can’t be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for and what you care for,” she said in 2018.

Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged a group of “liberal activists,” to fight back, a sentiment that was met with applause and laughter. “Michelle [Obama] always says, ‘When they go low, we go high,’” Holder began. “No. No. When they go low, we kick them.”

In 2019, Rep. Joaquin Castro said Democrats would “fight [Trump] and challenge him in every way that we can in the Congress, in the courts, and in the streets and protests,” if the president declared a national emergency about a government shutdown.

“There needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives,” Massachusetts Democrat on MSNBC’s “AM Joy” program. Rep. Ayanna Pressley added in an Aug. 15 interview.

Sen. Jon Tester of Montana took it one step further, encouraging people to “punch Trump in the face.
“I don’t think even in states where Donald Trump won big that it does you any good running away from [him],” Tester said. “I think you need to go back and punch him in the face. I mean, the truth is, is this guy is bad for this country.”

Shortly after claiming “God is on our side,” Rep. Maxine Waters of California also urged activists to physically confront the Trump administration in public places, saying, “You get out and create a crowd. You push back on them. You tell them they are not welcomed anymore or anywhere.” Waters continued her narrative in an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid, telling people to be “more forceful, more confrontational, and more prepared to push back on this administration.”

DeSantis was riding a huge wave of momentum following a lot of legislative victories. Especially after the mid-terms, I think it was fair to say that Trump appeared vulnerable. And in politics, you can't sit around and wait your turn.

Maybe he was a victim of bad timing but I can see where he thought he'd be the natural successor to a crowd that may be experiencing Trump fatigue.

My view is DeSantis thought he could draft behind Trumps wake and get the nomination. Today's WWIII declaration form DOJ makes that inoperative. DeSantis needs to start firing some rounds at DOJ on behalf of the country formerly known as America.

482 I think the DeSantis mostly expecting to just be introducing himself for the future theory has some validity, although I'd prefer him to focus on state power. He should lead a coalition of governors teaching new ones and guiding established ones on how to get things done and do the right thing by their state.

The federal government is hopelessly compromised and impossible to fix as it now stands. So its up to the states to protect the people in them, and governors need to work together on this.
